I can't agree that Earl Grey is as British as tea gets. It's a traditional black English breakfast blend. Splash of milk, touch of sugar. Just simple, honest, slightly bitter and astringent, and it caffeinates you. Like, Earl Grey is well British. Don't misunderstand me in this regard. But, there is something universal about the simple and honest nature of a breakfast blend.
I own three Kent combs, the oldest is 5 years old now, best $10 I ever spent on that one, still works and looks brand new. Personally I have a wide tooth for after I shower, a fine tooth pocket comb for styling and maintaining a hairstyle throughout the day, and a mustache comb that doesn’t see much use recently (shaved beard). They really are the best bang for your buck for what you get.
Been wearing Clarks Desert Boots and Chukkas for decades. Another British tradition my wife and I enjoy is Pimm's Cup. First had it at a restaurant across the street for Hampton Court, sitting on a patio over looking the Thames. Been hooked even since.
Hey TGV greetings from Cheshire, love all your videos by the way!! My stand out British brand has to be Barbour, the best coats and jackets in the world!! Keep up the great work fella.....
As an Englishman myself (living stateside) I adore the London based perfumer Miller Harris and in particular the scent La Fumee. And I can't live without Geo F Trumper's sandalwood shaving soap (with the badger brush of course).
LMAO Hugo is pure class. See, don't mistake kindness for weakness, classy and vicious! Great vid once again. I have all those areas covered except the pack, I have a Nike that holds all my undesirables nicely LOL
What i remember most about Scottish Grandfather, was the Coal Tar soap, Aramis and Brylcream in his hair. He wore tweed and loved to hunt and fish for trout. He also wore a very nice 9ct Roamer watch (which was passed down to me). I guess my Parker pen is something British, that i use on a daily basis. Great show again. Regards Stu
Not really luxury brands as such, but as a woodworker I have found it worth seeking out classic British made tools...they kind of lost their edge (pun intended) after about the early 1970's, but post war Stanley planes are a delight to use and older chisels from Marples and Robert Sorby have a feel all of their own and hold an edge as well as the very best of today's tools.
OMG, you just took me waaaay back with the mention of Stanley planes to my childhood in the tool shed tinkering about. I had no idea they were British! Thank you for that little trip down memory lane. As always you comments are a pleasure. Best regards, TGV
I can’t say I have a favorite as an artist but when I use them, I found Winsor & Newton paints to be really high quality. I guess it’s credit to their heritage as a brand.
I like this type of videos the most. I'm very in touch with my European heritage (German royalty and the Burtons of England). A more direct source for brands like these is greatly appreciated.
Floris is a fantastic company. I use Floris 89 more in the fall and early to late spring. I didn't inherent much from my family. The one thing I did inherent is a beautiful wood and bronze plaque with my grandfathers name on it. (This is my dads side) From when my grandfather was stationed in Kobe Japan. During this time he was a Merchant Marine. My dad was raised in Kobe from about 5 to about 10 years old. My grandfather was a WW2 vet and served in the Navy and the Merchant Marines. My dad was 12 when my grandfather left the Military. He's been to every continent and was a worldly man. Oh my grandfathers watch of choice was Hamilton and he swore by them. My Grandfather passed away on May 1 2017 he was 93.
Excellent video as always. What about HP sauce a very British product originating from India, if I am not mistaken. The other thing to remember with quality items is that it’s all about £’s per wear. Watches for example, can cost a lot but can be passed on through generations so not really that expensive when you look at today’s throw away culture.
indeed i've got a TAG Heuer...it was a months wages when I bought it...in 4 years it must be closeing on 20p a time now even figuring in the upkeep costs
One luxury British brand I use daily is my Castle Forbes shaving cream in the sandalwood scent. Easily, the best shaving cream I have ever used. It also features a very natural smelling cedar wood scent that is not overpowering to the nose.
Been watching some of your old stuff and to be honest I thought is this guy for real, but this video convinced me, really entertaining and I'm in. Don't go changing.
I truly love this very British middle upper class video, TGV you shall be honoured for services to horology and being a good British gent by the Queen of England.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
There is a soothing vibe in your clips that makes me keep coming back for more! I just checked out Carl friedrik products and ...wow! I am starting to like everything leather more as I get older. Also I just got a Seiko sna411 and put it on a NATO. Now I'm a happy man! 😄
Not really a brand but I have a Nicholson 32 sloop built in Havant, Hampshire in 1974. Been upgrading the navigation equipment with Digital Yacht, a Brit brand I’m very happy with. Also just ordered a 38mm Christopher Ward C60 GMT Trident Pro 600. Lots of great brands from the UK.
As far as English Tea is concerned, the VERY best, by far, is 'Yorkshire Tea' brewed for 4 minutes...with a little sugar and milk (if you like it) then taste the pure, clean taste of one of the UKs most popular beverage
That intro is legendary!! TGV, Because of you, I ended up interested in Floris fragrances. I received a few samples from a reputable website and I ended up loving No. 89 and JF! My favorite ended up being JF and I found out that it was developed on my birth year, 1993. You should give JF a try, it smells great and you wont regret it. Cheers, Peter
Tristano, a quick anecdote about Floris: recently went into the Jermyn St shop after stepping off the 24 hour flight from South Australia en route to our old Highland fastness; I was bemoaning large and heavy bottles of perfume and lack of "travel" size containers. Without further words, the lovely gentleman searched around in a drawer and presented me with 8 short pencil size vials of 89 (much more than enough) and then refused any payment. And that is the difference. (Most of life's requirements can be obtained on Piccadilly. Jermyn St and St James St.))
schoffel gilet, cordings sport jacket and my signet ring, although the gilet is not strictly British, it is something i wear everyday and i feel has definitely been adopted by British field sport culture!
Great video. The British make many fine things especially fine tailored suits (Saville Row), yummy jams and jellies, famous sport cars, and produce some of the best actors in the world. But that side, the last time I was in London I shopped at Harrods and bought myself a beautiful leather wallet. Great stuff.
I would check out Sunspel clothing, wonderful British clothing brand. They have been around for a long time, have made clothes for the Royal Navy, and are famous for dressing Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. High quality craftmanship put together with pure British class.
Conway Stewart fountain pens for me. Quintessentially English. After all, they were good enough for Winston Churchill. :-) Oh yes, and classic Mini Coopers.
Although he also used Onoto pens! Had a number of real Minis but my two classics at present are a Triumph GT6 convertible (made for me as never officially made) and a Morris Minor Traveller - a timber framed car where the wood is structural. I use a Conway Stewart pen every day as the Onotos are for special !
For your question : Been Canadian we are stuck with the Queen on our money. It's a daily thing that we would gladly go without but what can we do. I love tea but don't drink much of the classic English tea, sometime for breakfast but I prefer an espresso or a latte in the morning. The rest of the day is tea that I drink but mostly lapsang suchong, pu erh, Jasmine Dragon Pearls, genmaicha, green tea in leafs ...
I hope Hugo enjoyed his meal 🤤! I really enjoyed this video tremendously! My list of British is as follows (not in order)..... Earl Grey, Bovril, Shepherd’s Pie (I guess all to be consumed), It ain’t half hot mum, Benny Hill, Fawlty Towers & Mind your language. Does Roman Atkinson and Mr Bean count 😳😉? I will certainly get a Signet ring as you suggested! Still quite a few more.....however not enough space! Well.....Oh dear, how sad, never mind! Thx dude!
Splendid video, old boy! I use a British made tangle teezer everyday. I only wear Barker shoes (god, how I love them), and my Omega CK2129 has an English-made case (Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, purveyors to Her Majesty) and gets an awful lot of wrist time. Like you, I love to wear British made jackets in the winter, especially, I love my Gloverall Union Jack duffle coat which is very much “in your face” but just too amazing when you walk down the street in London and get so many reactions. Britannia rule the waves!
Just seeing this video, but my everyday wear item is my grandfather’s Masonic ring. He also has a Knights Templar ring which I will inherit from my mother who wears it on a chain around her neck. I actually went through the Masonic, York and Scottish rites in order to be closer to him and to rightfully wear these rings and to honor him. Oh, and my preferred tea is Kings Oolong 403 tea.
Hello Tristano! Hope you are doing well. It has been a couple of years since I last visited your channel. Wow!!! Your channel has grown tremendously since my last visit. Good to see that you are still around and making even better video's than before!!! Keep up the good work and regards from Holland! Cheers, Harry.
Harry!!! How wonderful to hear from you. Of course I remember you. Glad to hear you are well and thank you for the well wishes. Onwards and upwards. Best regards, TGV
I have always wore a watch. I am 42 and I have always had to have a Casio Gshock. My wife has several baby Gshock's. Anyway I have felt the cellphone has taken away from the watch a lot. Because of a wranglerstar video I found you. I have been splurging on your videos for a month now and I am going for a Seiko 5 or skx for my first tradition watch. Thank you for opening my eyes to this wonderful hobbie.
Myself a Brit hailing from gods own country Yorkshire, besides the puddings. Penhaligons scents, Church and Blakes shoes, Bill Amberg leather goods (The rocket briefcase a favourite), Hawes & Curtis shirts, Jaguar, Bentley etc. etc.
Superb ‘darling!’ At least we now know what happened to Lucan - eaten by your dinosaur! My grandmother gave me some Floris 89 for my birthday when I was about 8 or 9. I wear it often and always reminds me of her. She would have been 100 this year! We get our signet rings on our 21st birthdays. A lovely tradition. Keep up the superb videos sir! Tally Bally Ho!
Thank you Captain! Haha, 21 yes! I can remember as a child thinking thats ancient! My god, now it seems a lifetime ago SMH What a wonderful way to remember your grandmother. TBH!! KBO!! O&U!!! :D Best regards, TGV
Hi dear TGV! That pro - intro was killing me! :)) Very sweet, I've smiled a lot! :) Good fragrances are very important and they match well to a clean body. :) Sometimes I just cannot choose, but I think the main reason is the lower quality, so, thanks for recommending the Floris products, I'm very curious to look after them! I loved the Lancome Miracle L'aquatonic ( a green, beautiful fragrance with coriander ) many years ago, and the Prada Amber ( lilac, highly floral, wonderful stuff ). Thanks for sharing with us your lovely remembrance of your grandfather! I'm also a big fun of gemstones. Do you, sir, play chess at all? :) Loved all the stuffs you discussed about, thank you! Always pleasure :) Happy greetings, Robert
How interesting! I had no idea you were a British citizen, thank you IC. I have to admit, although the world has so many amazing biscuits, nothing compare to British classic right ;-) I love a good shortbread myself, digestives too :D Thank you, Best regards, TGV
House of hardy fishing tackle. They have been described as the rolls Royce of fishing tackle since 1872. They had a shop in pall mall. I am the 3rd generation in my family (that I am aware of) that use their tackle exclusively.
Hello TGV, been watching your show for years and really enjoy it, first time leaving a comment! One of my favourite british products is Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Shaving Cream. Just a fabulous product for all you wet shavers out there. jolly good show, keep it up!
I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS VIDEO !!!!!!!! WHY ARE YOUR VIDEOS NOT LONGER !!! LOL seriously I wish your videos were like 50 minutes a piece another excellent video wish you put out more content I know it's hard to do but you're doing a great job thanks for the effort 👍👍👍👍
I love how the Indians taught the Brits how to make tea, and the Brits taught the Indians how to make a proper pale ale. I go to my local Indian restaurant for decent chai and good beer.
I have a fondness for British and America brands (although being neither) that there are to many to name. They make such great things and if I where to start a list it would take ages to finish and a short lists wouldn’t do it justice so I think I am not going to make a list. Great video
TGV may I add one other thing to your list? Truefitt and Hill shave kit. Tried sandalwood, 1805, and Trafalgar. All smell great. Expensive stuff but very good.
I can’t say no to an afternoon cuppa Yorkshire gold builders tea after kayaking Portland harbor Weymouth UK. I need my Latte in the morning to give me the will to carry on . Ciao , W
Cool Philly architecture book. I was born and raised in South Philly not far from the stadiums. Aka cheesesteak and water ice capitol of the world among other things.
Love the intro with Hugo - too funny. Being half English I have a fondness for British made goods too. I'll have to try your tea suggestion - enjoy a good cuppa of Earl Grey. While not something you go for I use my Jaguar XF nearly everyday and my Lotus Elan on weekends. Ciao, John
Haha, funny you mention Lotus, my best friend's father in high school was a test driver fro them, I have fond memories of zooming around in many of their cars. Thank you John, Best regards, TGV
It’s probably a stretch for me to say every day, But you’ve certainly got me thinking about the British brands I use regularly, All with their own great heritage. I’m from the North East, Typically here we have a colder climate which is reflected in my clothing choices. Barbour (a South Shields company) does a great selection of waxed rain coats.. Everything from Traditional to Contemporary. I also like Belstaff, They were established later in 1924 as a basic motorcycle clothing brand but have since taken on high fashion and are owned by a company based in Milan. Brook & Taverner - My Tweed waistcoats. I’ll even wear them in the summer as an alternative to a sports jacket. Burberry, The old fashioned “Burberry’s” coat my grandfather wore- I love the details such as brass d links in the belt and horn buttons. 100% cotton and very well made. Hackett rugby shirts for casual wear. Catesby / Churches / Loake shoes- All handmade staples. I’ll start from the feet up usually as my grandfather always said your shoes is one of the first things people will notice. Of course there’s many exceptional shoemakers- John Lobb, Grensons.. The list goes on !
I almost forgot- Dunhill. For my sins I still occasionally smoke. My rolagas lighters from Mappin & Webb have served me very well but they’re also nice objects, Similarly to watches that are more than the sum of their parts and functionality. Well made, reliable.. They have a pedigree. Winston Churchill, The “Bentley Boys”.. All carried Dunhill products as edc
TGV, That’s brightened my day thank you. I’m going to throw out there Sherbet Dip Dab, it’s not a luxury but one of life’s simple pleasures that never disappoints.
Speaking of British brands, you could use a Bossons head on the wall behind you. Great video, cheers! Ps- big fan of Tayor of Old Bond street sandalwood shaving cream. (The rose is nice too).
You should make a video on the ring I am very interested in them. I would love to see more stuff from your family [if I remember correctly you have custom porcelains (which I one day hope to have made myself)] I just love tons of weird things for my age (15) like rugs, porcelains, tapestry, umbrellas, clothing, etc, and don’t forget watches!
Funny that you have your grandfather's pocket watch, as that's one of two things *I* have of my grandfather's as well. And his is a Hamilton, suitably since we're American :-). It's from the 1920s - and still runs! Also have his sword cane - how cool is that? Has his initials engraved on the silver tip of the handle.
Very cool video. One of my favorites thus far. I am proud to be half British, and thank you for spotlighting some quality British made goods. Enjoyable as always. Cheers.
Always a pleasure and I am equally proud to here from another fellow hand Brit. Onwards and upwards my friend! Thank you for sharing that. Best regards, TGV
Oh. My. God. That was the best intro ever! You keep getting better and better day by day! Keep up the tremendous work you do! I really appreciate it and getting inspired by it too. Thank you! Cheers!
Trisano, your intro was an absolute hoot! My favorite British brand I use every day is Taylor of Bond Street shaving soap/cream whilst using a proper boar’s hair shaving brush and safety razor. Cheers!
Bought the Floris 89, and my wife said: "Why do you smell like an old geezer?" :)
LOL Well, people did tend to be more classy back in the day right!? ;-)
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Let´s bring back the classy! I can recommend their aftershave balm that has the same scent.
I’m watching this on the TV, and my wife walks in, sees TGV talking to a T-Rex, and slowly walks away mumbling “isn’t that the watch guy?” Lol
I’m having Prince Albert for dinner 🍴
“Having Prince Albert for dinner”.
Do I detect a nod to Thomas Harris and Hannibal Lecter?
I can't agree that Earl Grey is as British as tea gets. It's a traditional black English breakfast blend. Splash of milk, touch of sugar. Just simple, honest, slightly bitter and astringent, and it caffeinates you. Like, Earl Grey is well British. Don't misunderstand me in this regard. But, there is something universal about the simple and honest nature of a breakfast blend.
Taylor's sandlewood cologne, Fred perry polo shirts , Ben Sherman shirts, Russel and Bromley tasseled loafer . And genuine Brut 53 after shave . 🇬🇧
A daily British item for me is my Kent shaving brush. I bought it at Fortnum and Mason years ago and I use it every day. Cheers TGV!
I am German. This Video leaves me proud to be British and makes me lament the Empire‘s demise. 😎👍🏻
Thumbs up for the intro 🤣
The LandRover Defender. Never leave home without one
“Start your own legacy” very wise words sir. I love that intro!
Thank you Simon,
I could not agree more, I had a wax one when I was a child, amazing stuff.
I might have to revisit the brand.
Best regards,
TGV
As an Englishman myself (living stateside) I adore the London based perfumer Miller Harris and in particular the scent La Fumee. And I can't live without Geo F Trumper's sandalwood shaving soap (with the badger brush of course).
TGV, that intro was absolutely bonkers, I loved it! 😂

I also love modern Clifton planes and Ashley Isles chisels.
Isn't Stanley an American brand?
LMAO I love this intro.
I can’t say I have a favorite as an artist but when I use them, I found Winsor & Newton paints to be really high quality. I guess it’s credit to their heritage as a brand.

Being a barber I always recommend my clients get a Kent comb. You can never go wrong with them.
Oh dear, dear, only you could come up with a dialog with a T-rex. Brilliant.
I couldn’t think of anything British that I use often...then I opened up my cupboard. MARMITE! I’m American & I love it. Cheers!
Floris is a fantastic company. I use Floris 89 more in the fall and early to late spring. I didn't inherent much from my family. One day I hope to use an Aston Martin every day, lol! One can dream. The Brits make some of the best stuff on the planet though, for sure.
TheStig ZeroZeroZero oh yes. Especially a manual DBS ❤️. I must say however, I adore Ferrari even more!
One luxury British brand I use daily is my Castle Forbes shaving cream in the sandalwood scent. Easily, the best shaving cream I have ever used. It also features a very natural smelling cedar wood scent that is not overpowering to the nose.
No matter if it's a rainy or sunny day. Fall and winter I go everywhere with my Aquascutum raincoat.

Because of you, I ended up interested in Floris fragrances. I received a few samples from a reputable website and I ended up loving No. 89 and JF! My favorite ended up being JF and I found out that it was developed on my birth year, 1993. You should give JF a try, it smells great and you wont regret it.

Hahaha! Just when I was thinking that TGV was becoming repetitive and bored, He introduce T Rex. Well done! Keep it up

Thank you Philip, and yes, bean counts!!!!
Rowen is a comic genius, big Blackadder fan myself.
Onwards and upwards!
Best regards,

TGV how could I forget Blackadder?! I still have the full DVD set! Thx again for this video! 😉
Love the guest appearance from Hugo there. Ernest, the stag, samurai and alien next 🤣
Even if we're having a completely different styles i enjoy these videos. Well done.
A little bit of the old Urban Gentry is my recommendation. Your are British.Always a pleasure to watch your great videos TGV. Thanks, Cheers,
EXCELLENT Intro! Had me in stitches!

Fantastic intro
YGV you're the most sophisticated, cultured, classiest, proper, well mannered, stylish, aristocratic gentleman I've ever seen on RUclips.
"It's not Christmas without one of their hampers." Well, I never thought I'd hear that sentence out loud.
Fantastic Intro and content old boy :) Another fabulous upload. Thank you! :)

Seriously TGV has the greatest intros
We need a whole TGV and Hugo sitcom
Omg yes, great start to the video, very entertaining. Please don't change. :)
Superb ‘darling!’

My grandmother gave me some Floris 89 for my birthday when I was about 8 or 9. I wear it often and always reminds me of her. She would have been 100 this year!

Keep up the superb videos sir!

21 IS ancient! It’s a pity that I’m 40 next year you young whipper snapper!
Hi dear TGV!
That pro - intro was killing me! :)) Very sweet, I've smiled a lot! :)
Good fragrances are very important and they match well to a clean body. :)
Sometimes I just cannot choose, but I think the main reason is the lower quality, so, thanks for recommending the Floris products, I'm very curious to look after them!
Loved all the stuffs you discussed about, thank you!
Always pleasure :)
Happy greetings, Robert
As a British citizen, I have to say my favourite luxury is our snack foods/afternoon tea. Flapjacks are incredible!
Best, IC
How interesting!
I had no idea you were a British citizen, thank you IC. I have to admit, although the world has so many amazing biscuits, nothing compare to British classic right ;-)
I love a good shortbread myself, digestives too :D
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Shortbread, Digestives, Bourbons, Custard Creams, so many to eat!
All that, and you didn’t mention Hobnobs?
Fannies.
Interesting video TGV, please remember that quality remains long after the price is forgotten.
Mate you can’t beat Yorkshire Tea!
Our most powerful sensory memories are from smell. No surprise Floris makes you think of England!
I love how the Indians taught the Brits how to make tea, and the Brits taught the Indians how to make a proper pale ale. I go to my local Indian restaurant for decent chai and good beer.
From one Londoner to another, I loved this video mate!
Thank you my friend, very much appreciated.
Best regards,
TGV
Enjored this immensely! Hugo is actually one of my distant cousins.
Art Gecko lol.
I swear, I don’t watch your videos just for the intro’s, but Hugo cracks me up
MACHINE4456 Don’t I know you?
Blair S. No, but I know you 🤔
I have a fondness for British and America brands (although being neither) that there are to many to name. They make such great things and if I where to start a list it would take ages to finish and a short lists wouldn’t do it justice so I think I am not going to make a list. Great video
cause and effect. All these good things are causing me to go broke. The effects though are real nice.
TGV may I add one other thing to your list? Truefitt and Hill shave kit. Tried sandalwood, 1805, and Trafalgar. All smell great. Expensive stuff but very good.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!
Spot on sir, thank you for sharing that.
Best regards,
TGV
Thank you John,
Best regards,
TGV
TGV,
That’s brightened my day thank you. I’m going to throw out there Sherbet Dip Dab, it’s not a luxury but one of life’s simple pleasures that never disappoints.
My favorite parfum is the Italian Leather by Memo the main scent is: green tomato leaf, vanilla absolute and leather accord.
Loved that, but you were wearing a French polo shirt 😂
Of course! I actually mentioned it in the video.
You must be new to the channel, welcome!
Thank you Jason,
Best regards,

A Prince Albert for dinner? Wink wink nudge nudge?
I love my Charles tyrwhitt dress shirts - slim fit spread collar/cutaway collar, and my British rock music albums.
Fantastic choices sir, you can't beat wither of those choices.
Very classy, I love it.
Thank you MH,
Best regards,
TGV
I shave each day with Taylor’s of Old Bond Street shave cream. A small jar applied with a badger fur brush lasts me 6 months. An in expensive luxury.
Best regards,
TGV
I love the signet rings. Being Army im looking to get one with my regimental badge and service dates
Liked Hugo’s cameo appearance.
Oh. My. God. That was the best intro ever! You keep getting better and better day by day! Keep up the tremendous work you do! I really appreciate it and getting inspired by it too. Thank you!
Cheers!
Yorkshire tea , daddies brown sauce, Geo F trumpers eucris shaving cream and aftershave, carling lager
Just got off the dog and bone talking with the stress and strife. LOL
Trouble and strife, please!
Trisano, your intro was an absolute hoot! My favorite British brand I use every day is Taylor of Bond Street shaving soap/cream whilst using a proper boar’s hair shaving brush and safety razor. Cheers!
Thank you Michael, excellent choice, I could not agree more!
Best regards,
TGV
