Excellent video , so glad you have reviewed a Panerai , the Radiomir being my number one grail watch as its so different . Due to it's style it does not look to big on your wrist. That book shop looks fantastic , you need to revisit on a future review .
The 30m of water resistance is not only embarrassing but for many marks the absolute decline of the brand. It's like in the future if someone buys a book for the novelty to factor and then opens it up only to greeted by gibberish instead of an actual novel. The idea is that you are buying it for its looks and the function is just an outdated aspect. I agree that the sizes are huge but that watch doesn't look out of place on your wrist. A Panerai is supposed to big and the smaller dimensions make it look like a proper big watch for someone with a small wrist like yourself. It wears much like a 44mm Panerai would wear on an average wrist.

I think you could wear a watch like this, especially because it is a Panerai. The lugs don't protrude beyond your wrist width. As for the 30m water resistance... it doesn't matter -- that particular model is more of a dress/casual watch than anything else. It is really a very stylish watch, I would not mind at all wearing such a piece. Great show, I enjoy the non-horological content very much: the places you go to, the shopping, the culture, the conversations/interviews and all the rest.

TGV, the Panerai is a bit big for my tastes, but I DO enjoy the ‘slice of life’ style video with views of the watch on your wrist while shopping, etc. And I love DiBruno’s and Fante’s when I’m visiting Philly! May I suggest a future video where you do a head-to-head watch comparison, while eating cheese steaks at both Geno’s and Pat’s? 🤣
Wow! What a great video TGV! Panerai is indeed a fantastic watch brand and I love your very interesting history course on it! Alway learning watching you! Thank you!! Philadelphia looks like a city where I would lose a loooot of money, particularly with coffee and used books :) Very nice video showing these charming shops and places!
As always TGV you continue to enhance my appreciation for brands like Panerai which I have often overlooked due to design issues.i may reconsider my opinion after watching this.great vid, great insight. Good work fella.
Great video. I bought my first Panerai (pam0777) a couple of months ago and can’t be more happy. I like the fact only watch people know the brand but other than that it’s quite stealth.
The Panerai Due is a DRESS WATCH with panerai design cues....it was never advertised as a diver... A Breitling Navitimer, which is a sports watch, has a WR of 30m....so does Patek and other dress watches...
Amazing how many people don’t get that this is Panerai’s dress watch. It uses the brand’s design language (a good thing in my opinion), but that doesn’t make it a dive watch.
what a wonderful review, I'm really starting to love this type of review!!! thank you TGV and the Watchbox team for the amazing videos, keep on going guys
Fantastic watch, the design and size are perfect for me. However the water resistance killed this watch for me. Nice review. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work.
Haha, you will love me next video, it filmed on a battleship! Sadly Covid makes shooting this kind of video extremely difficult. Also the cost and time it takes is just not possible as much when doing RUclips part time. Thank you for watching, Best regards, TGV
Absolutely fantastic. One of my favorite all-time Watch videos. I loved seeing the Italian market. Enjoyed the light jazz in the background. Great watch. The food is making me really hungry also.Really enjoyd the history of the watch. Extremely entertaining. I am going on eBay and ordering the Parnis look alike right now.Wish I could afford a real one,But I own fifty entry-level watches and enjoy them all. For all you low budget guys like me check out the Parnis. Sorry GTV, The video and the watch are total class, but I have to watch out for my blue-collar buddies. Keep up the good work and God bless you!
I am not the biggest panera's fan - and there are a lot of watches I'd buy before but that (leaf style?) seconds hand makes the watch for me! awesome :) great video as always :)
I wouldn't say it's "far too big for your wrist" as you suggest. It's a Panerai, "big" comes with the territory. I just picked up a 44mm Luminor 773 last week and it fits just fine on my flat 17cm wrist. Works well at the office too in business attire. Took me 14 years of collecting to come around to Panerai but I'm officially hooked to their clean designs. I was excited about the Due when launched but 30m WR is embarrassing from Panerai to be honest.
@@theurbangentry its Indian :) I live in Cambridge though! For me, Panerai very successfully merged class, masculinity and minimalism all in one go. Fun fact: only one Indian, the macho cricketer MS. Dhoni, is a Panerai brand ambassador! But Dhoni's been wearing panerai long before the endorsement!
The Panerai Due is a DRESS WATCH with Panerai design cues....it was never advertised as a diver... A Breitling Navitimer, which is a sports watch, has a WR of 30m....so do Patek and other dress watches... even AP have 20m WR for their dress watches (Jules Audemars).. There is no issue here.
Great video! I agree with what you said about the wearability of the watch. I saw someone wearing one recently in Heathrow, and it didn’t really seem like a big watch. It actually looked rather elegant. However, like everybody else I find 30m water resistance underwhelming, to me the low water resistance somewhat undermines the brand, once you learn about their amazing heritage. It’s as if Ferrari made a car that could not go on a race track. Nonetheless, a brilliant video, as usual, and a beautiful watch.
You're like me. We have a section here in Pittsburgh called the Strip District, where there are some wonderful Italian shops. Whenever I go there I always leave with 4 or 5 bags and 200 fewer dollars in my bank account. Needless to say, I adore Panerai watches. They're my second favorite watch maker right after Breitling.
Love the Panerai watch collection.. especially the Panerai Luminor Due GMT a beautiful timepiece... unfortunately out of my price range AT THE MOMENT... good informative review
Great video, one of my favourite (so far); good to see TGV getting familiar with Philly: moving from one city to another is never easy. But also thanks for broadening my view to the Panerai collection in general , it is actually a great watch with a respectable history....I just visited the official website to see their watches, amazing selection, and yes, there are proper divers watches 300 meters waterproof, so this Luminor that you are reviewing is probably their entry level piece. Continua così Tristano, you should do a full episode in italiano, or even in Italy,
As a massive Panerai fan, I am so glad to see TGV do a Panerai video, but this watch is a non-starter. That iconic crown guard on a 30m water resistant watch is preposterous. They're expensive watches, it cannot have been that cost prohibitive to give it proper water resistance (100m) and still make it thin. My Pam 183 is 13mm thick, I bet they could definitely slice 3mm out and still keep the water resistance, 100m isn't really that much. Unless it's a Mare Nostrum, it needs a least 100m of water resistance. Great video though, TGV! Hope to see more Panerai in the future.
Panerai is a awesome brand and definitely undervalued with great history! I have a panerai pam 005 l loved it everywhere l go get compliments definitely buy another panerai!
Hey, can you please review the 2019 tissot seastar 1000 chronograph as it’s an incredible Swiss diver for about 360 usd and please compare it with the seiko skx lineup and other similar watches (I’m in a dilemma and can’t choose as the tissot is abt 120 usd more expensive?
I really like the way you introduce us to the charms of Philly as you introduce us to a new watch. Philly definitely has a lot of charm to offer. Panerai watches are definitely an acquired taste. I am not a fan of the Luminor line; I do not like the crown guard, it throws the proportions out of whack in my estimation. But as you pointed out, functionally it is unique in zeroing out the second hand. I much prefer the Radiomir line, especially PAM00790 and 791. These are some elegant and timeless watch case designs. Keep up the good work in Philly - you won't run out of material to share.
Thank you RKL, What can I say, I am somewhat in. love with the place. Your comment speaks volumes about you. The way you look at the positives and still respect watch despite it not being your cup of tea makes you a gent. I agree too, the Radiomir has a timeless elegance too. I will thank you again because I truly appreciate it. O&U! Best regards, TGV
TGV, fantastic review again. Have you considered doing a review on Bell watches, I don't think you have reviewed them. Thought it would be right up you're street given the history of the brand. Just something to consider.
Great video sir. Fantastic to see you out and about in the markets and as always incredibly informative about the brand. I'm not one who places too much emphasis on water resistance as for the most part unless you plan on swimming or showering in it, it really doesn't matter. For a "bigger" watch it looks like it wears very well on you. Not my cup of espresso ☕ but it's a very nice watch. Enjoy
Great segment TGV, I respect Panerai’s history, very disappointed in where they are going, marketing, and administration. So much to repair.loved the market tour, made me hungry! All the best Sir. 🥃
These kinds of reviews outside are amazing TGV, i love them. As for the watch, 30m water resistance on a dive watch is strange. However, it looks good on you, its not too big.
Ok....some dislike the water resistance....great video. History lesson...Chicago has lost the old world Italian markets of Taylor St. - Philly is hanging tough.
What’s the venue for a review of a Breguet? Le Bernadin? Terrific review. Love that power reserve. C’mon guys it’s a dress/sports watch. No divers really get used as such.
Great video! All the cultural and historical references are so cool. Panerai definitely makes some interesting watches. I would love to get my hands on a PAM00933! Looking forward to the next one. Regards, Koen
Hey TGV! Obviously the size is entirely a preference thing. As you said, some Panerai enthusiasts prefer them even bigger. But for us with the smaller wrists, it might be worth looking at the Luminoor Due 38mm. Is exactly the same as the Luminoor you just reviewed, except smaller. Even has the same power reserve. I believe this was originally targeted towards the Asian market, however it's also rather popular with women too. Could be worth a look
Wow talk about crazy, I just saw a user post this exact watch in the UGWC a while back and was very impressed by how gorgeous it was. And here you’ve made a video about it! I’d really like one but 42mm is quite large for me unfortunately..
Love your videos with all the details and history you give in your opinions. Do you mind covering on microbrqnd watches like direnzo? Looks beautiful and carefully made but are they worth it?

30bar = 300mt
Sa Le it is 30M... not 30 bars... 3 bars if you prefer. Basically no water resistance at all. Rain can kill it, a shower is a watch suicide...

There is no issue here, IMO.
I love that you added some “real world” interactions in your video with the locals. Makes me want to visit Philly again! 🙂
Thank you!! ( my nick name is also TGV, standing for Topgunvinny Vinny, given to me by my friends when I admitted seeing the movie TopGun at least 300 times.....! What can I say! I flew airplanes for many years so i am addicted to TG!...:)
Hi TGV ! congratulations and thank you for your channel generally and for this new production specifically. I was already a fan, now you are really achieving something else, combining precise design analysis and lifestyle context presentation. Thanks again ! watch you soon ! Cheers
Probably my favorite video you’ve ever done! Well done all around! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Rick! :D
I will deffo be looking at more Panerai myself too.
Best regards,
TGV
Great video. I bought my first Panerai (pam0777) a couple of months ago and can’t be more happy. I like the fact only watch people know the brand but other than that it’s quite stealth.
Thanks for sharing history of the watch or country
Ciao TGV, splendida recensione! Great review as usual!
Grazie tantissimo,
Best regards,
TGV
Sentirti parlare in italiano è sempre un'emozione! Numero uno assoluto !
Grazie fratello! :D

I want to like Panerai but I just can't like a "diving watch" that I wouldn't dare to wear in the rain.
The Panerai Due is a DRESS WATCH with panerai design cues....it was never advertised as a diver... A Breitling Navitimer, which is a sports watch, has a WR of 30m....so does Patek and other dress watches...
100% you can wear it in the rain. Don't exaggerate
Joestoes I feel the same. I mean the word Frogmen was mentioned a few time and Marina Military as well and crappy water resistant- ouch
Jorge Ledesma Vacheron Constantin used to make only pocket watches..should they continue to do that because that is their heritage? Hell no...
It's not a diving watch though.
Utterly compelling content TGV! The best yet :) More please...
Amazing how many people don’t get that this is Panerai’s dress watch. It uses the brand’s design language (a good thing in my opinion), but that doesn’t make it a dive watch.
It's as ridiculous as if Rolex released a 30m WR Submariner.
You just don’t get it do you Andy
Most diver watch buyers don't even go swimming. I love the 38 mm; allows me to enjoy a Panerai and diversify my collection. I love it!
Hi! What's the music/ambiant at 16:11 Tristano, or anyone?
This is a beautifully artistic way to show a watch in the Wild. I love this so much keep it up!!
what a wonderful review, I'm really starting to love this type of review!!!
thank you TGV and the Watchbox team for the amazing videos, keep on going guys
Fantastic watch, the design and size are perfect for me. However the water resistance killed this watch for me. Nice review. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work.
My first reaction during the intro TGV - the size looks fine on your wrist!
Well you were making me hungry with all the food, love Panerai
This was a really cool video as a whole TGV, thumbs up!
Really enjoyed this one! I wish you would do more this type of watch reviews outside in documentary style instead of in the studio as you do now.
Haha, you will love me next video, it filmed on a battleship!
Sadly Covid makes shooting this kind of video extremely difficult. Also the cost and time it takes is just not possible as much when doing RUclips part time.
Thank you for watching,
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry Fair enough. Looking forward to your next video, keep up the great work, mate! 👏🏼
Ur a proper gentleman my friend! Great vid as always!
Great Review, Great idea to do it in a different location other than your office , maybe more videos like this
I am not the biggest panera's fan - and there are a lot of watches I'd buy before
but that (leaf style?) seconds hand makes the watch for me! awesome :)
great video as always :)
Absolutely love panerai! Thanks for the lovely episode on it. Thanks T
So glad to hear, thank you Debmalya!
Love your name btw, very cool indeed.
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry its Indian :) I live in Cambridge though! For me, Panerai very successfully merged class, masculinity and minimalism all in one go.
Fun fact: only one Indian, the macho cricketer MS. Dhoni, is a Panerai brand ambassador! But Dhoni's been wearing panerai long before the endorsement!
That 'dive watch' might be able to withstand my wrist sweat! Nicely done!
Yet another great video
Love the Panerai watch collection.. especially the Panerai Luminor Due GMT a beautiful timepiece... unfortunately out of my price range AT THE MOMENT... good informative review
That actually fits you very well, case height ruins a watch. Diameter is never that bad
@ray h. explain to me where u get $400 worth 8k from!??
Tristano sei il numero 1 !
Never been a big fan of the designs, but love the history
hats off to those youtubers who acknowledge their crew
This video could easily be mistaken for an episode from a show from PBS or CNN or Travel channel. Well done to you and your videographer/editing team.
Thank you RKL,
What can I say, I am somewhat in. love with the place.
Your comment speaks volumes about you. The way you look at the positives and still respect watch despite it not being your cup of tea makes you a gent. I agree too, the Radiomir has a timeless elegance too.
I will thank you again because I truly appreciate it.
O&U!
Best regards,
TGV
TGV, fantastic review again. Have you considered doing a review on Bell watches, I don't think you have reviewed them. Thought it would be right up you're street given the history of the brand. Just something to consider.
Thank you Robert, do you mean Bell & Ross?
If so, no! Long over due, great suggestion.
I will note it down.
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry TGV sorry I meant to type BALL but I didn't have my glasses on. Sorry again for the misunderstanding. 👍
Enjoy
Thank you so much Chris :D
haha, "not my cup of espresso" I love that! I might have to use it.
Best regards,
TGV
Good video. Liked the quality of content
Great segment TGV, I respect Panerai’s history, very disappointed in where they are going, marketing, and administration. So much to repair.loved the market tour, made me hungry! All the best Sir. 🥃
Delightful review, TGV!
More please ,very interesting the market ,the watch, bit of history , , all good spot bollock old chap
Great review. I have my eye's on the Pam904 for my 30th birthday.
Regards,
Koen
Do it Koen!
I regret not doing this video sooner!
Thank you my friend, I am sure you will love it.
Best regards,

There is a 38mm version
Love your videos with all the details and history you give in your opinions. Do you mind covering on microbrqnd watches like direnzo? Looks beautiful and carefully made but are they worth it?
Best video since you joined watchbox
Very nice review - I like the tour through the market and bookstore- I would do the same way...
tgv,im going to ny this weekend towards the tribecca area for a couple of days just to hang out and try some great food, but while im there i would like to check out a rolex or two and was wondering if you had any spots worth checking out for rolex.
