Thank you so much for watching and for your comment. Yes, setting up the tent in the wind is a bit of a challenge for sure, and this same method works with any tent in any season. I just returned from the Sierra Nevada Mountains yesterday and battled with a bit of wind there as well as I was setting up my new single-person tent. :)

Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it. It was certainly a lot of fun being out there. Did you watch the whole episode of that trip? You can find it here if you haven't seen it and are interested. :) ruclips.net/video/W2ZoDoAOEkI/видео.html

Hey Andrea, I hope that you are well. This is fantastic to see you tackling the education side of RUclips (Not just entertainment) if you know what I mean.. Its just insanely awesome to see you head out in conditions like this on your own for a camp and to film this so very well... Thank you for filming and making the effort to do this... ATB Tom

Thank you, Tom! I think the filming part is the hardest on trips like this. I'm sure you know what I mean. It takes a lot of time and effort to set it all up, and sometimes you're so tired and don't want to bother with it, but those are the moments our viewers really want to see. I caught myself on this trip not filming as much on the way back because I was so exhausted. Thinking back on it, there would have been more scenarios that I should have captured.
As for the educational part, did you see my video where I go through all of my winter gear and everything you need to know when first starting winter camping? It was quite a while back. It's a bit on the long side like most of my older videos. I've learned to cut more irrelevant things out now, but it was hard when I first started :D Here is the link if you're interested. It took a bit of planning to shoot this. Winter Camping Basics - Gear And Other Important Info To Be Prepared And Safe

Anyway, I really appreciate your comment and taking the time to watch my videos.

Thanks so much for watching. Yeah, it's really good to know how to set up the tent in such windy conditions. What happened on your trip? Btw, the second time I ever set up this tent, it was even more windy than here in this video, and the wind turned 90º on me halfway through the setup process. The tent just folded over my head because I didn't secure it as well as I should have. I had to shift its direction a bit and try again, and then it worked well. It's really just practice. You can follow all these steps even if it's not windy. That way, it's just a habit and you follow the same steps as usual.

Thank you so much! The tent is so great, isn't it? I just took it out on my last winter trip for the season a couple of days ago. It never disappoints. :)

Great video! But if you cook inside your tent, it´s better to put the foot end in to the wind. Then you avoid the moisture from cooking going trough and over the inner tent.

That's a great tip. I never thought of that and will try that next time I'm out there with the Nammatj 2 GT in the winter. Thank you for watching and for your comment :)

A tip: Before going camping you should waterproof the seams of tents. There is a liquid you can buy in the camping section in the stores where tents are bought.
I learned this from buying my own tent. It came with instructions saying what to buy and why it's important.
The seams are sewn with threads and there are spaces that can eventually pull and can leak.
In the past I used to paint on melted wax but this liquid is better and saves time.
Camping in the snow looks like fun.
Thanks for demostrating the set up.

Hi Sherry, thanks so much for watching my videos :) Oh yes, I had older tents that needed to be manually sealed. It was a lot of effort but worth it. Thankfully, the newer tent generation usually comes sealed already (at least the better brands). They tape all the seams so no water can get through. Over time, this tape may come off again, and then you need to seal it the way you describe it. Hopefully, I don't have to do that for a long time.
