I have never been more invested in a story of someone recovering their tent pegs.

It's good to see your comment on two of my videos! Yeah, it was so crazy to have my tent stakes frozen completely solid in the ground. I was just kind of speechless at the time. I'm glad I got them all back, and after posting the video, I received some great tips on how to get them out more easily. Have you gone out winter camping yourself, or are you thinking about it? If you have any questions, let me know :)

@@adventuresandreams Thank you for your reply to my comment. The video was well edited and the story well told, I was surprised how drawn into the saga I became. Your video on the Hilleberg Nammatj 2GT popped up in my recommended videos, as I was considering purchasing the tent (and now have) and was looking to see someone actually assemble it in adverse conditions. I'm planning a southbound Appalachian trail hike soon and was concerned my current tent might be up to the task if weather was consistently bad. One of the great things you learn from other people using the gear is all the little things you don't consider (such as ice-bound pegs) and the solutions they came up to resolve the problem. So, thanks so much for your videos!

@@ShiefVance What an increadible plan you have! I lived near both ends of the Appalachian Trail in the past, but only ever hiked shorter sections of if. Maybe one day I actually make it, or parts of the PCT, which I'm much closer to now.
Yes, I've learned so much watching other people's videos, and also from the comments that I receive on my videos. Did you read them all? I believe that one person had the best tip for the ice-bound stakes. They suggested to hit them with a rock or hammer to break that bond. What an amazing idea, which would have helped me instead of taking the risk of abendoning them.
Well, I wish an increadible adventure. You cannot go wrong with the Nammatj 2GT, although I would consider it quite heavy for such a long track. It will absolutely keep you warm and safe, though. I never once felt like it coudn't handle even the worst conditions. The storm in this video was the most intense, I think. It made the building at home shake, but the tent didn't care. Best of luck to you and lots of fun. I would love to hear from you how it went :)

There's a trick to remove frozen in stakes like that. Give them a slight whack into the ground which will break the bond of the ice and you'll be able to pull them straight out.

That’s an excellent tip. Thank you for that. I bought nails since that trip to use instead of these pegs. They come out out as well but are pretty heavy.

Thank you so much for watching and for your comments. The Rocky Mountains are HIGH on my list of places to visit, and I'm really hoping that it works out this year. I follow several photographers on Facebook who regularly post breathtaking photos from there, and I can't wait to see these mountains myself, not just when flying over them. :)

Awesome video Andrea, a strange coziness in the tent withstanding the crazy wind!
And that mug is perfect :D
What's the music you used for Part 2, during the shopping/trip to go back to the camping spot ?

I use Epidemic Sound for all of my music. The song you mentioned is called "Share With Me" by Jon Bjork. You can try Epidemic Sound for free for a month with the link that I have in the description if you want. :)

Hi there, thanks for checking out my video. This is actually a remastered version of an older video. I've taken your advice to heart and no longer have problems with the stakes, but I figured that others would enjoy this journey who have not seen the videos before. :) I should have added the solution at the end, but I didn't think about it, honestly. Take care and happy adventures! :)
