      En este video utilizo isomalta, un sustituto especial del azúcar.
      Para los colores usé colores en gel.
      El papel transparente es una hoja de celofán, una más gruesa.
      Espero que esto ayude

    Can the item be placed on top of the cake and into the fridge overnight after it was sprayed with the glaze?
    Thank you.

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, if it is well glazed with the spray. But it is best to keep the sprayed decoration in a airtight box with some silica gel (to absorb the moisture) and put it on the cake the last minute. That is the safest way.

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад +1

      Thank you, Nazan. Isomalt is a name for sugar substitute, you can find it on internet, mine is from Saracino. Where are you from? You put the isomalt in the microwave for 1 minute at a time. Mix it up (turn the mold or microwave safe glass jar left and right to distribute the heat, don't stir it) and put it back in to the microwave for another minute. When it's almost melted, heat it in shorter intervals. When it's all melted, it's done. For plastic cellophane paper I don't know the brand. I buy it in a store for florists..it's a thicker cellophane for wrapping flowers and presents. Hope this helps.

      Thank you Janine. You mean a mold for melting the isomalt? You can buy it in stores for cake supply and baking or online. The one that I use is a round mold for baking, I just cut out one circle. Hope this helps:)

    How do you add flavor to your mix? How long will this last in storage once sealed with spray?

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад +2

      you can add flavours (extracts and candy oils) to the melted isomalt. Once sealed with edible glaze and well stored away from heat and air it will last for a very long time. It's like candy or lollypop. Hope this helps:)

    Yo quiero hacer vidrio de azucar y quebrarlo para decoraar unos bollitos de vidrio con sangre de dulce para halloween, nomas que quisiera saber si cuantos minutos en microondas son? y no se cuanto tiempo se deja para que se enfrie y si se puede guardar en el refrigerador ?

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  9 месяцев назад

      You melt isomalt in intervals. Every interval is around 30 seconds, depending on the quantity of the isomalt (you can start with 60 seconds, at the end maybe only 15 seconds).. Remember to move the bowl or silicon mold between the intervals to mix the isomalt. It will cool down very quickly, again depending on the thickness. Spray it with edible glaze spray (with shelac) to protect it from moisture. Store it in a airtight plastic box in room temperature. Hope this helps. So if isomalt put on The cake and Storage in The fridge can be melt?

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад

      Hi Adisti. Isomalt exposed to moisture (condensation when you take it out of the fridge, or moisture in the air) gets dull in color (mat) and gets sticky. Eventually can start to melt. It needs protection-a layer of edible glaze (shellack), that gives it shine and protects it from absorbing moisture.

    Can I use silicone mat instead of cellophane

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад

      Hi Tahzeeb. For making different uneven shapes, cellophane is more suitable then silicone because it bends and folds easily. Silicone is less able to hold shapes and it gives more even result. Depends on what you are trying to make. You can also use baking paper.

    My sculptures get sugary after a while. Do you know why?

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад

      First thing that comes to my mind is moisture. Have you protected your sculptures with edible glaze (shelack)? It is also important that you melt isomalt completely, only then it reaches the right temperature for stability.

    What is the difference between sugar and isomalt ?

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад +2

      Hi Nurit. Isomalt is a sugar substitute. It has little to no impact on blood sugar levels, and does not stimulate the release of insulin. it is used in cake decoration because it resists crystallization much better than the sugar. it also has higher melting point so the decoration made with isomalt is more stable. Hope this helps.

      Hi Nona. You need to protect your isomalt decoration from moisture with edible spray glaze that contains shellack. That will prevent the isomalt to get dull (matte) or even melt. The glaze keeps your decoration nice and shiny.

    Instead of isomalt, can i just use sugar instead?

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад +1

      Yes, you can use sugar, but it's a little more complicated. You have to heat it to the right temperature, so it's durable enough, by that time it gets caramelized, so the color is changed.. With isomalt you have a clear color. It's very easy to melt, you don't even need to check the temperature, when it's all melted, it's ready to use. Isomalt can also stand higher temperatures, so it's more durable, less breakable, harder..etc. Hope this helps.

    • @hasher22
      @hasher22 2 года назад

      @@SugarQueenEva Thank you! I tested sugar yesterday and it was a mess, it's not worth my time and effort with sugar.
      Though, with the bowl effect, I used white chocolate and oil colouring which did the trick if customers want chocolate.
      But I'll def. use isomalt next time if I want a clear, easy to use ingredient! :)

    • @SugarQueenEva
      @SugarQueenEva  2 года назад

      Yes isomalt is edible. It is used for the production of "sugar-free" candy:) No need to melt it inside the oven, it would probable take too long to melt, you can melt it in a pot on a stove.
