I've been printing for almost 10yrs (Ender3). Never had time to pickup much CAD tho. Now retired, your vids have inspired me to learn more. My BLX1CC was my retirement gift to myself, and a well needed upgrade. I started with Simplify3d way back then and bounced between it, and Cura as it grew. Slicers today are WAY more complex and feature rich. So thx again for the push to learn more🍻
Thank you very much for the comment. It's hard to explain how much your abilities can open up when you don't have to wrestle with your tools. Also learned on cura and ender3. I have yet to dip deeply into other CAD programs yet. We are alike. I too bought my X1C at a (different) milestone event and learning through experimentations, and the comments. I hope we all can continue to grow and create some pretty fantastic things. Again, thank you for the comment and positive feedback.
@@ashleys3dprintshop one thing that leaves me scratching my head is .3MF files. I know that they can contain alot of data, kinda like a .zip file... and bambu slicer saves projects as .3mf but it complains when you use someone else's file. Do you have knowledge about them? I have seen them discussed on other channels but I'm ashamed to say it hasn't sunken in🤦♂️
@@dsemolian3071 Ah yes. I have looked into the 3mf files. You can view their contents easily. If you rename the ".3mf" files to ".zip" you can extract them. Nothing is encrypted or anything. you can use notepad++ to view most of the files There is typically 4 folders, _rels, 3d, auxiliaries and metadata. There is also a content types.xms The file i "rels references Auxilaries "Auxilaries folder" references thumbnail model and profile pictures "3D" folder will have another rels folder, which links back to the 3dmodel.model type file which is basically the gcode print instructions Objects folder has the name.model which is basically the print gcode for bamub printers. meta data has configurations more thumbnails etc. You get a angry error from other 3mf files since they do not have the same info bambu studio is expecting but it can ignore the missing bits
YAHOO!!!!!! You are amazing I cant thank you enough for the video and the time you take to produce them. This will help me out immensely! It was so simple and now I feel dumb. Love the new intro.. On the way to 1000 subscribers. I try to tell everyone about your channel!
Thank you. It was a good topic to cover. Everyone who asks questions gives me a chance to see if the slicer will let us do it. I actually never applied a donut to a model like that but the more and more I test I and humbled but how much I still have to learn. We are getting close to a milestone of 1k so I have to think up something special. Thank you again for the question.
I'm still playing around with the logo but this one seems like a keeper. It is a neat little revolving tray but I already nicked it...🥲 Thank you for the positive feedback.
Can I just say you made my life so easy with this video even though I was using Anycubic the process was close to the same!!!

another great stuff! Thanks for this 👌
Glad you enjoyed it! I'll try to keep them coming. 😁
Thanks, great tutorial!
Thank you. Minor update to this. If you have the latest version of Bambu studio, you can right click, add primitive, then select torus.
😁
Thank you soo much for this! I followed along tonight and found that Bambu studios now have the add torus as a negative in the software. Woot Woot!
I was very glad when bambu added it. Thank you for the kind words.
Great job! It's always a nice touch when tutorials actually show the end product!
Thank you very much. While theory is great, I too ,like to see if it actually works. 😁

Was going to post a picture of what you taught but unfortunately it doesn’t let me from my phone.
@@3Dprint4you DId it work out?
I didn't know you have a channel too. Subbing
@@ashleys3dprintshopI have had that channel for quite awhile but would like to start doing 3d stuff
Loving the new logo and the rotating mirror at end is very nice!

Thank you!
@@3DPrintandModeling Thank you for watching and commenting.
This was awesome thank you!!
Happily, torus is now a native shape in Bambu Studio =)
Thanks, great tutorial!
Thank you for watching and commenting. A bit has changed since you can right click and add a torus directly in slicer.
Where can I find the ghost model file?
I got mine from here. Ghost with feet
cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/zou-ghost-ghost-with-legs
A lot faster than mesh bolean...
definitely an option. Thank you for watching and commenting.
