    Great video - I have always struggled with since I didn't flip the cover over :) So it was hard to get logo & box aligned - but flipping it over = much easier

    I'm not seeing Assemble in the mouse menu but merge instead. There IS an assemble menu up by the paint area. Did they add more features to assemble then rename what YOU used to Merge?
    Trying to get a restaurant logo on the Mouse kit.
    Also do you know if there's a way to put stuff on a curved surface without hurting the original object.
    Aka i want to put the logo on the mouse without effecting the shape of the mouse

      @ashleys3dprintshop  3 месяца назад +1

      Hello. The latest version of the slicer calls what used to be "assemble", "merge".
      There is another assemble which does a completely different thing so it can be ignore for this purpose.
      So in short use right click, MERGE not Assemble.
      As for the curving a logo there is a way to do it. I recommend using an SVG file I have a few videos showing the steps with modifier or mesh boolean.

    Great Vid! learned a lot. Can you embed a logo like that into the side of a vertical object? Thanks

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  11 месяцев назад

      Yes. The angle does not matter much. But if you are printing logs with it can be punishing on the AMS, filament usage and print times.
      Each color change adds about 90-120 seconds with every change. If you have 2 changes per layer its almost 4-5 min per layer. It adds up fast.
      Ideally I would make the the prints colors horizontal but nothing is stopping you from making it vertical.

      @@ashleys3dprintshop So I make custom button boxes for sim racing games. Some people want their names, numbers, team logos etc.
      I'm testing with an SVG of someone's logo I converted to an STL and placing it on a rectangle I generated and sized using the "add primitive" feature. At first I tried the logo a few mm thick as well as the rectangle. Then I tried the logo 0.4 mm thick and the rectangle 2mm thick. Nothing worked, and I tried a few more variations of that to no avail.
      Thank you for being so willing to help!

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  11 месяцев назад

      @@BluDog35 No worries, here to assist if I can. If you have the file as an SVG already you should not need convert it to stl.
      You can import an svg which gives you a ton of options. Especially in painting.
      Adding it to a part can be straight forward from there. You may need to center it, place logo in position, highlight all parts, right click assemble.
      You can still move parts in objects process at any point, before or after assembly but if you miss click the whole model gets selected vs the part you want to manipulate.
      I hate to throw a bunch of homework at you vs a straight solution so I'll give you some of my vids that cover it. I try to keep things under 20min.

      Making a 2 Sided coin. Alternative Method Bambu Studio Intermediate Tutorial
      ruclips.net/video/F7L2_R4zEXI/видео.html
      The last video may be good because it shows some fixes if a part's color does not show up, placement, move tool, layers etc.
      if 0.4mm .6 or more may be needed depending on the number of color swaps or if there is a stark color change. (black/white)
      Also that vid I sent earlier for "flush 4" example helps if you need to move the part priority.

      Hello. There can be a few reasons but lets start with the simplest one first.
      Switch over to Process Global , quality, wall generator: Arachne
      Another simple thing to try is this.
      Convert the text type to modifier then repaint
      ruclips.net/video/C3dXlJB9pb0/видео.html
      If there arent enough layers slightly more advanced
      ruclips.net/video/F7L2_R4zEXI/видео.html
      As for the temp issue you will need to change the filament type to the same brand.(there are other more complicated ways but we can keep it simple.
      For example if you are printing with PLA set all of the filaments to "bambu PLA basic" you can keep your colors the same.
      I may revisit the assembly video as there have been many advancements since then.

Below it I have a name in orange also and in a larger font/size than the logo. But the name portion of the print almost comes of “hazy/faded”. • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  Год назад +2

      There are a few ways to look at this. You can repaint the text,(which I will assume you have tried) you could also increase the layer size for just the text.
      So if your text was .1mm you can try to increase the z height to .2 or .4mm.(turn off uniform scale) This will push the text above "flush" you can use the "move" tool to push back down.
      It's not explained in this video but it is explained in this one. ruclips.net/video/F7L2_R4zEXI/видео.html

      Sorry about the late reply.
      There can be a few reasons why a logo may not show up
      1 there isnt enough layers to show up
      But the big one for most folks is the order of the parts
      Here is a quick video about it.

      I'll try to assist if I can. The backing for your logo are you trying to make a your logo flush or slightly raised in this backing? like this
      ruclips.net/video/IeEX6vkzP4Y/видео.html
      For flush
      You can right click your logo
      left click "add part"
      Pick your shape
      And surround your logo.
      making sure the z height of the added part is the same.

      Hello, thanks for reaching out. You are probably running into a somewhat common issues that didn't crop up for in in this video.
      There is an "order of operations" for assembled/merged parts.
      Its a simple fix however. You just need to "move" the main part above the text parts in object process.
      Better explained here.

      @@aaronscalise7682 How "thick" in the z axis is your text/image?
      I recommend at least 2 layers worth.
      So at a .2mm layer height then the text should be at least .4mm high.
      Also you mentioned it may not be readable are you making the text small? If so there are a few options.
      Smaller nozzle, or change line width.
      Arachne wall generator tries to automatically change the line width but it may not always work.
      Full topic *Line width*

      Actual fix in action on .4mm or .2mm nozzle.
      ruclips.net/video/9PrcIl67nw4/видео.html
      But if line width is your issue and you are using a .4mm nozzle try changing your line width to .3mm.

      @@aaronscalise7682 once the text is embedded into the model just changing the z height may throw off the whole model.
      Sometimes it's good to right click, separate into objects. Make the z height adjustments, then merge them together again.
      Just be aware when you separate into objects everything falls to the plate.

      I should probably do basic overview of what I use but I only used glue stick for the first week I had my printer the washed it off and never looked back.
      I am a kick starter backer so I've had my printer for a year and over 3300 hrs printed.

      I used a product called "Nano Polymer" from vision miner($45 for 120ml.) It's little pricy initially but a single bottle has lasted well over a year depending on application.
      Leaves no tacky residue and I'm still on my original cool plate sticker. I run every print on cool plate settings of 35C on all my plates (cool plate, pei or peo) . I usually print in pla but the vision miner works on nearly everything.
