It sure is! When the printer was released everyone was saying the printer has to be online to work. That couldn't be further from reality. Also if the company goes belly up, you don't want cloud stuff or your internet is down it's good to have alternative options.
Perfect timing. I think The cloud has a outage today. I think depending on your version of studio will ask for the access code. Thank you for commenting.
Hello again. Actually yes this should work with a webcam you have connected to the PC. Just go to the camera app on the PC. Windows start menu type: Camera It will open the webcam and see anything in view of the cam. I forgot to mention the computer needs to be on and not in sleep mode. Your internet connection needs to be decent as well otherwise it may be a slideshow of images.
The video is still jerky jerky. Do you know or can you demonstrate a way to live stream the printers video so it’s not chopped up while using the P1S in built camera? I can setup an alternate web cam of sorts but was trying to think of a way to get smooth video from the printers built in camera while in LAN only mode.
Hello, Thank you for the question. I can give you 2 answers. 1. The FPS(frames per second) on the P1S is locked to .5 fps. The older brother X1C gets 24fps. So there isnt a way to smooth out the video unless bambu lab unlocks the camera further. The main processor for the printer is almost at it's limit already so I doubt they will do that. If it isnt real time which is kinda the point you can somewhat fix choppy video in a AI video editor if you were making videos from it. 2. You are on the right track with an alternative camera or smart cam. An inexpensive one like a wyze camera works well but it would need to be mounted externally. There are small cameras from other brands, think spy camera size, that can be mounted. You wouldn't be using studio. The P1s has a usb port inside (.5v 1.5A)or you can use that small hole in the top right of the p1s to route a small cable through
@@ashleys3dprintshop yeah thanks, of course you are right. I have a Raspberry Pi-5 and a very small usb camera I think I’ll try to mount up and stream the video from the pi-5/camera to another computer. That may suffice. Anyway thanks for your video and good info. Kindest regards, Dennie

Hello, Thank you for the question. While this video predates the A1 you can add it to lan only and still control it with a local PC remotely with the settings in the video. It's basically the same setup. Settings lan only, make note of the pin code if the slicer asks. wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/enable-lan-mode The camera feed is slower on the p1 and A1 printers.

When the printer is in Lan only you disconnect from Bambu servers. So no images from camera or print files get transfered to Bambu servers. I have personally tested this by disconnecting my router from the internet and (most) of the printer works fine.
