Im not getting a new battery system for sake of one tool lol ill stick with bosch as im tied into that system which is no bad thing imo they have a great line of 12v and 18v quality tools.

The point I was trying to make is don't be afraid to get into another battery line up when on occasion during sales you can get a quality tool and battery for cheaper than a bare tool. Alot of times people get caught up in I own a specific battery line up so they don't even look into other brands when sometimes you can get kits cheaper than bare tools. It's the exact reason I got into the Bosch 18v lineup years ago as I got a Bosch rotary hammer drill and battery for cheaper than the Milwaukee bare tool.

@@TeamDIYNow that's exactly how I got into Bosch's 18V battery platform. Now I own Milwaukee M12 and Bosch 18V and compare between these 2 everytime I'm in the market for a new tool

I have the Dewalt and the Heat and Airflow is strong enough for Cable Heat shrinking

Agreed, I have been using the Dewalt gun for the last 6 months for heat shrink as well and it works good for that task. I never realized how low the Dewalt airflow was until I used this Bosch, however depending on the application you don't always need the max airflow. Battery runtime the Dewalt is the clear winner as this Bosch eats through these 8ah core batteries.

@@TeamDIYNow i use 54V Flexvolt 12AH or 18V 5AH Powerstack Akku. Both of them perfect for the Heatgun

@@Orgelfan62 I have just been using the XR 5ah and that works great as well. I typically dont need very long runtime as I just use mine for rewiring automotive connectors.

The lack of a lock on the bosch is a deal breaker for me.
I'm hoping for a bf deal on the dewalt; I've had my eye on it for a while.

Yea I know what you mean I'm still a little bitter about the no lock as well. With that said after using a little bit, the Bosch does have a lot more airflow than the Dewalt. As of about a week ago the Dewalt has been on sale for $95 (amzn.to/3R65tGf) which Im assuming is the black Friday price as it was around $149 for a while.

@@TeamDIYNow Thanks for the heads up on the price; that's pretty decent. I'll probably wait until the 20th to see if any other stores drop the price or maybe include a free battery.

For lock on switch on any tools that don’t have it but have a trigger. Try using a hair tie rubber band. Slip it over the battery onto the handle. Tie a knot if you need more tension. Great hack for power tools with no lock on trigger but u need a free hand.

@@cristianpaulmartinez52 Thats not a bad idea I never thought about using a hair tie. I have used zip ties before but it's a hassle to cut off especially if you have to keep turning on/off. Thanks for sharing will have to try next time I use mine!

Should have got the Makita. Seems to win every test so far.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Makita 18v batteries otherwise I would have considered.
