I seen this about a week after your Ridgid heat gun review and it got my interest. I knew you would review it and possibly a tool duel between the two. Nice straight info review but you had me looking and waiting for something crazy funny. 👍
@@ToolReviewZone no problem man. I know your busy but thought it was funny because I was listening so hard while waiting for something to pop up. I enjoy your stuff so much.
Bought this today for some furniture paint stripping, and it's going back to Lowes tomorrow. I have several other Dewalt tools, but this one is awful. The projection of the heat is tiny in both width and length from the heat coils. I had to hold it right next to the wood, so it's very slow going. I also went through three batteries in less than an hour. If you're working on doll house furniture it's probably okay, but otherwise don't waste your money on this tool.
Thanks for your review. Looked slow melting that glue stick. Good airflow might have made up for the lack of heat, but seems like the cordless version just isn't quite there yet.
i bought one but not happy with the heat . I have a smaller 20volt battery . I see you have a battery twice as big. Does the size of the battery make a difference e. Or are all 20v the same power out put
I rather have a heat gun that doesn't get extremely hot because of so many times you don't realize you leave it in one spot just too long and you get that burn or paint bubble so I rather have it a little bit less Heat
I do a lot of vct clear spread glue for commercial vinyl flooring. I have a corded wagner heat gun but my problem is I normally work while the grocery store is open to the public. So cords are a trip hazard and finding an outlet is always tough if I’m in the middle of a store. I use my map-pro hand torch but I would rather use a cordless heat gun. And I just bought a 8.0 battery at Lowe’s this past week for 159.00 so I think I’ll have plenty of juice.
Like Milwaukee tools, Makita, Hitachin as im in the platforms. Don’t own a single DeWalt power tool. The Milwaukee M18 heat gun isn’t for me. Was disappointed in it. No air flow control, temp control, etc.... My corded electric heat gun is awesome. Temp control that’s digital so able to set the exact temp I want, & goes up to 1400°! Can also control the air flow from 1 all the way up to 10 settings. Wish a cordless model would come out w/ all the “options/features” of my corded electric but in a cordless platform that I’m already in....preferably , lol. The review on this gun is tempting to me. Like the high/low, & when you turn it off it cools down rather quickly. Would like to see some further testing of this against others, so definitely will be watching for that video👍🏻 Cheers✌🏼
I haven't tried the Milwaukee heat gun Aepek. Hopefully they redesign it to keep up with the newer guns today. Wow, 1,400 degrees...that's awesome. I think the ridgid gets to 1,100
Third verse same as the first... I have it. Reason: I needed a heat gun a while back, and all of my batteries are this color. Better...worse...than something else? dunno. Doesn't really matter, unless someone that has a better one wants to offer free batteries. It works.
They are a big hit in the UK, I settled for a silverline DIY 2000W Heat gun, 550'c. I did burn through some paint and damaged a doorframe from making an ingroove into the wood. 900'c could have been worse. The batteries holsters could be bigger some new makes of Dewalt, STHIL size etc
Wonder how it will last and can it be repaired ?? 3 year warranty ?? Iv'e delt with these warrantys before and they can come up with 1,000 reasons not to fix or repair it.. Ill just keep my Milwaukee..
Thank you for showing the new product and thank you Ohio power tool we're giving it to him the show us looks like a nice one how's it going Perry then do a tool duel against the Milwaukee or one of the other brands I would like to see that cuz I would like to see how it works with a some heat shrink you take care cheers with a beer
Hi, nice review. I own Dewalt corded Heat Gun with nozzles. Wondering if these nozzles from Dewalt corded Heat gun would fit to Dewalt cordless Heat gun? Thanks.
I got all dewalt tools in my truck. This heat gun looks very cheap, took forever to melt that rod. Not good. Dewalt needs to re-thinking on this one. 👎🏼 not interested
You’re exactly right, it not only looks cheap, it feels cheap as well. It is basically useless, especially if you’re planning to use it in a professional setting. They definitely need to trash this model and go back to the drawing board and start over from scratch. I decided to give it one more try tonight on some 1/2” adhesive lined heat shrink tubing. It was very frustrating trying to use it to do this simple little job. I ended up finishing the shrink tubing with a butane cigar lighter, that’s how poor this performs. I will never again attempt to use this heat gun for anything.
Would like to have seen you heat some heat shrink tubing, heat shrink fork or butt connectors. Not a lot of us melt hot glue.
nice review mate. I was looking at getting one of these
Is it good for window tinting ?

@@johnrice9121 lol your awesome bro. Thanks for the comment buddy 👊
I wonder if it will melt roof felt as I need something other than a lighter for melting ripped parts back together
No chance

Great video Clint
I have one with Powerstack 5AH Accu. Works fine to shrink Cabels
Could this be used for doing vinyl wraps?
I've been using milwaukee tools cordless heat gun for vinyl wraps lately and it works great. It seems like this dewalt model would do fine as well.

Bigger batteries kick out much more power
I have the Ridgid heat gun. I would have bought the Dewalt if it was out. I still might buy it.
I'm actually going to put them in a vid together bro.

I hear ya Rodney 👊
If I may add something!
I own one and the gun doesn't have a high air flow... If you need that of course
looks like an heat gun for small job. not good to remove paint and dry something big like a wall drywall repair but looks good for small jobs.

Your welcome buddy. Acme actually sent this over, but I know what you mean haha. Thanks for the comment bro 👊
can this work on 18v battery?
Tried this and is was just OK, the battery life is disappointing.
I only get about 500 degrees on high on mine
👍👍👍👍👍Great
TRZ I think you're right it doesn't put out that much heat I'm looking for a flamethrower lol. Peace brother
Haha, I am looking for one to bro
The bad is coming without charger and battery

Yes they do hope this year reply helps!
cord guns are better be to much waiting around on medium to large stripping jobs
what is up my brother
What's up Joseph!!!
Tool Review Zone what's up brother have a good night my brother
Bought one and yes returned it for a refund on high you have to hold it right on the job low setting absolutely useless
Yeah. Heat that shit up.
A hair dryer gets hotter than this. It takes almost five minutes to get hot enough to do anything.
