My reason for going with the Milwaukee would be because I already have several of their tools and batteries. So I can buy the bare tool for $100

    Subbed .
I use a corded heat gun in a boom truck , meaning I’m in a bucket working close to the power lines all day . I use the heat gun to warm my hands in winter time ,as a hair blower quits providing heat after -9C in my experience.
Unfortunately I have a new boom truck , and it’s an insulated boom , so no more electrical outlet . My idea was to purchase a cordless heat gun and see if that works .
I better keep lots of batteries , as I’m certain they run down quickly. Too bad the Milwaukee didn’t fair as well , as all our tools are that brand . I do need the lock out though, so dewalt it is

Nice retail user review. Next level would be looking inside the machines, heating element, electrical components, plastic quality, how well they're assembled, etc... in short, durability

No belt clip on the DeWalt heat gun could be a safety thing , the hot end could rest against your pant leg .

It would be good if you measure the rate of heat development.

good on summer or in heated shop...you can't use outside or non heated shop on winter...on winter corded heat gun is the best ...just keep in the mine....:)

You can also lay the DeWalt on it's back and point it up for using both hands.

Every tool manufacturer does some stuff better than the rest. Dewalt has a lot of good stuff Milwaukee doesn't have and vice versa

can it be used at a tent heater or will it over heat?
I know if can only run about 40 minutes per charge but sometimes that is enough.

Can’t belong be you reviewed wireless heat guns with testing the performance. You missed the point of tool review completely.
