Ah yes, the P organ. What every man wishes they could upgrade
I have a 10inch..... the lies of P
true and real
The thing that’ll make him a real boy
it's not about the upgrade level but about how you use it
You lie and it grows. It's magic!
"With no strings attached..." I see what you did there. 😁
Really pleased at all the quality mid-budget titles this year tbh. It feels like a niche in the market that was solely lacking during the Live Service Gold Rush period that I think has started to wind down.
Everything looks better and more appealing to people when their triple-A games are unoptimized garbage. I'm glad more people are getting into games like this, because of it.
Yep i think these mid tier companies realized that pouring millions into a live service game is a huge risk because very few actually succeed enough to be supported past several months, so they went back to making quality titles which, if good, sell well.
Nah. All these mid budget ones are the games that started development right around the major studios shut down cause of Covid.
This developers outdone themselves, phantastic world, amazing bosses, great way of use for Pinocchio in this dark violent world. And doesn't feel like a Clone to any previous Soulslike game.
I'm honestly surprised, and I want more from this guys!
Miyazaki I'm sure is proud of this guys!
Yes, bloodborne fans including me went in to get that itch scratched. But I end up loving this game as it's own, and want to see more👍🏻
(No Lies) Cheers!
My first time watching a vid from this channel. IGN and Gamespot didn’t do video reviews.
Wow your content is awesome. Better than the big guys. Well done.
These were the big guys once lol.
These are ex GameTrailers guys
Welcome to the party!
These are the OG big guys.
Only an 8 is crazy!
How is 8 an only man? 😅
The Internet has completely spoilt our perception of review scores. Imo the final score isn't even what you should focus on
Giving this game the same score as Starfield is criminal. If From made the exact same game I bet it'll get at least a 9.
Nice, timely review here. Excited to play through this next week.
Lies of P has a mechanic you can easily spot several times throughout this review: vial regen. The ability to replenish a single health vial when youve run out is someething i want to see more Souls games add. Being able to have an opportunity to replenish health in some capacity gives more wiggle room, and since you have to attack enemies to replenish it, it teaches you to stay aggressive.
Small things like that.
"No strings attached" is the best Lies of P review pun so far
Great review Brad, I really loved the demo. So I can see myself picking this game up eventually, just too much to play right now, it's insane!
I was waiting for this. Thank you for getting it out in time!
Said it before but this is far the best voice on youtube.
If you are like me, all you need to know is there's a boss called Mad Donkey in this game and it's a guy with a donkey head and a giant woodsaw. I have high hopes for this.
I just got the true ending and it pushed it from an 8 to a 9 for me. Such a great game.
You know.. this never happens. So many times the ending doesn't live up to the game itself.
How difficult is it?
@@Mark-tb6nn
Pretty challenging, but also very fair(for my experience).
When you say the true ending…how can I know if I’ve got that, without spoiling it? 🤔
@@Urd-Vidanhow hard are the bosses?
I love the atmosphere and general gameplay of fromsoft games but a lot of the boss fights just seem so cheap.
A beautifully written review, Brad
I played the demo and some enemies didn't make a sound whej they hit the ground. Also dodge felt weak. Did they change something?
This game is such a love letter to bloodborne and doing it through the Pinocchio story is a great idea.
Nice work, Jones and Team!
Ooooof! Nice one there at the end, Dad. *Brad 😂
Hey guys, is there a Baldur's Gate 3 review coming? Or is that a no go? Great review btw as always.
Sorry, no Baldur's Gate review on the way, but you can check out our thoughts on Frame Trap and the Easy Allies Podcast, and we've done several streams with it as well.

Honestly more curious to know if it has a map like Dark Souls & Bloodborne, much of my enjoyment doesn’t come from combat - though I do like it - it’s the big interconnected map, with shortcuts & secrets. More in the genre for the Castlevania/Zelda roots that the Souls style of map design pulls from.
I’m pretty far into the game. You can fast travel from each “bonfire”, but the entire world is also connected.
@@AluccardX well, a couple area transitions through doors and such, but they are usually obvious and definitely not long load times, this game is so well polished too, i love it
Nice. Happy its not super block/parry focus. Will definitely pick this up as a fan of BB/Souls
this review is pushin' p
You just had to get that pun in at the end.
What a great year for games
I absolutely love this game but a huge flaw for me in the combat is how erratic and poorly telegraphed the attacks are in a game that really wants you to parry in order to deal significant damage. Its something I never felt once during my entire playthrough of sekiro.
And the way that every boss in every second phase just ends up doing the same moves but with slightly different timings ends up feeling extremely cheap because you essentially have two different timings to associate with what is visually the exact same attack. So much of the boss fights just feel like banging your head against the wall until you intuitively understand the timings instead of using visual and auditory cues to be able to actually read what the enemy is going to do.
Timothee Chalamet Puppet Murder Simulator
This game is such a surprise,I had basically written it off after seeing the first couple of trailers. 2023 rules.
I’m glad this game turned out well! It looks sweet.
Prioritizing Cyberpunk this month, believe it or not. But I’m excited to get my hands on Lies of P.
Quality review. Thank you.
I've never heard it referred to as a "pee organ" before, but it's good to know it can be upgraded.🤔
I'm glad to hear this game is actually good because the demo was very unimpressive to me. Watching more footage of the full game and it seems like what we got in the demo was one of the least interesting areas design wise. Surprised to see how much depth there is to the combat systems in the full game too.
it gets very very good but also very very hard. its not gonna be a walk in the park for most. its an incredible game that gets better and better the more you play.
Tim Chalamet as Pinocchio
I love the aesthetics, and I really really like that main character design (There are so many tropes for main characters these days). It is a shame I am not a souls player, not my style of play, makes me wish they offered something like a final fantasy action style of play as an alternative.
Same here. Looks great, but I’m not into that Souls style of play either.
I feel like in a normal year this game would be 9, no questions asked. For me, honestly, feels like it's gonna be that anyways. Great review, Brad.
Honestly even with the other games this year I'm surprised this game isn't closer to the 90's on metacritic. It's for sure going to be in my top 5, maybe even 3. Something like Starfield which I'm absolutely loving I can understand some of the negative feedback it's gotten, but Lies of P seems like a very obvious 9/10 to me
@@captgeechthis is not nearly even close to a 90 type of game every Souls clone never get a 90 plus unless its a Fromsoftware who made it even Souls games like Wo Long Dynasty only get 81.Nioh 2 only Get 85 Mortal Shell only get 76 the Surge 2 only get 75 and Ramnant 2 only get 80 on metacritic.None of this Souls clone get any higher than 8.And Even Starfield only gets 83 on metacritic. Games really needs to push more before they even get to a 90 plus on metacritic like Zelda or Baldurs Gate 3.And none of this souls clone deserves a 90 and Starfield they dont push the gameplay and genre enough.
I thought it was a 9 as I was watching the review
@@sakuragi1062 lies of p is an exception, I don’t think any souls clone before this one deserved a 90. Also since when did breaking into 90 become as elite as you’re talking about I mean bg3 and TOTK are >95 like bangers of all time, deservedly so because they were really damn fun plus they did something that moves quality in gaming mechanics forward for the future. But I’m saying a game like this could be an easy 90, 91.
It did get 9/10 from almost everybody, the problem is it got basically zero 10/10 scores so even something like the one idiot review site that gave it a 4.0 means the average can't be more than mid 80s.@@captgeech
That Archbishop was ROUGH
Just as some feedback, at times this sounded a bit like a gameplay overview trailer for the game, rather than an actual review of it. All the detail about how your swords have special attacks, what the gadgets can do etc, it just sounded a bit soft, and basically just described standard RPG mechanics.
If Brad likes this soullike, then im in.
With an upgraded pipe organ maybe I can finally play In the Garden of Eden by I. Ron Butterfly
For comparison, these guys gave Bloodborne 9.6 back in the old GameTrailers days.
If I see that GD blue butterfly one more time...
I can't believe how good this game is. What an interesting world they created. The combat is as good as bloodborne or sekiro in my opinion. And my favorite thing is the records! The music is so beautiful. 9.3/10 for me
I want a new Blade game
Best non-FrimSoft Soulslike
8/10! that is better than I was expecting. Going to play this through Gamepass.
Cool I bought mine.
@@willjohnboycool I'm playing through Game Pass.

The game is freaking amazing. Glad there are developers changing the way we knew Dark Souls games. I hope Neowiz makes a Sleeping Beauty soulslike game in the future
Played the demo and that was it for me! It really felt like a poor mans Bloodborne..
It was a lot ugglier, the controlls were a lot clunky and slower, the gameplay was not that fun and the level design was so so at best...I dont understand peoples obsession for this game...Its miles from a From Software game
Uglier than stuck to 30 fps 2015 ps4 game ? haha good one
@@DroneCorpseso basically you're saying your opinion is facts and anyone who disagrees is delusional?
@@DroneCorpse I'm not saying it's worth a 9 or 10. I'm just saying this review doesn't care to critique anything about the game. If you don't care about mentioning what's better in other games then why did he gave it that score... it's just a bad review.
IMO I'll accept a 7 if the reviewer commentary suggests it deserves that score.
with no strings attached 😂 awesome
Can someone tell me how good the story is on scale of 1 10
Really looking forward to playing this. Also with lords of the fallen and black myth wukong coming out next, it feels like soulslikes are finally going to be good
Nioh 1 & 2, Wo Long, Remnant 1 &2 have already proven soulslike are already great and the in some cases better
@@ldtatum8459 I wouldn't count the remnant games as soulslikes. Nioh 1 and 2 and Wo long are, but they don't have all of the little things that make a souls title what it is - the level design, the piecemeal story telling, the enigmatic npcs. I really feel that from lies of p at least
Try Wo Long as well, more of a Sekiro type Souls game but very good none the less.
Remnant 2 as well.
The surprise hit of 2023?
Love the game but one thing noone mentions: the final levels are very bland and somewhat too linear.
Every review says the studio is a diff studio lol. Some say Round8, some say NeoWiz
8/10
Dishonored 2 influences?
my concern was it would be a cheap rip off of bloodborne......and I guess really, if we're being honest, it still is. I enjoyed the demo but found the bullshit combat issue problematic - that hasn't gone away apparently. Stupid boss tracking remains which means dodging is useless because even if you learn the random patterns, and time a dodge....the boss move at the last minute swings with you and suddenly turns camera tracking toward you....this is some annoying BS which we got at times in previous souls games but nowadays it's not seen much. I'm all for learning bosses and the difficulty curve but this is shame because the boss just hitting you mid track swing despite you've dodged or moved....is just nonsense. Other than that yeah, it looks great and it's being overhyped but this is the first real honest review I've seen. 8 seems fair.
the focus is more on blocking and perfect guarding than dodging. but even the full tracking attacks can be i-framed with dodges as well. the combat here is more sekiro with bloodborne as the follow up style for its combat inspiration.
looks too dark, where is the lighting?
I wonder if anyone ever tried to tell the Dev team that P sounds funny in English...
"hidden second phase trick"? You mean how every boss in just about every soulslike works? Uhhhh k
game looks great but i still haven't caught up on past souls games, so that is my priority before playing any more souls likes
Playing this game on PC right now. I must say:
1. The Dodge is slow, gets better after you buy 2 upgrades in P-Organ;
2. You MUST learn the perfect parry, I don't see a way to play this game without it;
2.1 You'll get frustrated with the very small window to do the perfect parry in some enemies.
3. Feels like Bloodborne in many areas... sometimes feels TOO MUCH like Bloodborne (remember in BB a enemy that kills you when she screams? we have it here too)
ALSO:
4. 20 hours in, no bug/crash/slow etc. Running 60FPS smooth;
5. It's a fun game, beautiful in many areas;
6. Having fun when not frustrated with perfect parries;
7. I really want to see what's going to happen in my next steps!
Normally my favorite thing about an Easy Allies review is listening to it and knowing what the score will be before it shows. Because the words match up perfectly with the numerical score given. You know a 7 is a 7 before the score even pops up. This time I was listening and I heard a 9 the entire way through to be surprised by an 8. Still a good score no doubt but it really feels like this game is paying a “Soulslike that is not made by From Software” tax, and even though From Software is one of my favorite developers that doesn’t seem fair. And I don’t think this is the only review that feels that way. In contrast Armored Core 6 may have got that .5 bump (normally only reserved for Nintendo games) earlier this year.
I totally agree. I heard a 9 too.
Best of the souls clones although thats not difficult.
Looks like Timothy Chalamet
Yet another great game released day one on game pass. Got it pre-installed, ready to give it a go 👍
>skill trees
Oh no
So happy that Chalamet Souls is coming to Game Pass. Definitely going to give this a go... After I've managed to finish Starfield and Baldurs Gate.
It's on game pass but I'am just gonna buy It as I belive more and more that the Idea tho great on paper Is overall harmfull for games.
Played the demo like a week ago. I just want to say one thing to Microsoft. Those who are responsible for cracking deals related to third party games on Gamepass deserve a raise. Seriously, WHAT A GET!! Really looking forward to play the full game.
got 10 hours to go !!!!!
Good
Everything on GT is 8/10 these days.
Great Value Bloodborne
It'd be funny if your swords got longer the more you lie :P
8/10 not bad
Pee organ??? I have one of those…..
Bet it needs upgrading though lol

Am I too late for the “Pee-organ” jokes?
I don't see any negatives mentioned in the video , yet why 8/10?
Lies of Pee
Gotta be honest I really hate this one love souls games but they are usually fluid this game is slow and clunky no matter what.
Only one instance of word play in the script? Disappointed.
Seems like the most dead-on 8/10 game ever
FInal score: Black friday sale....after you finish spiderman 2.
So glad this is on gamepass too. But seems like a worth buy. Wait for that buy 1 get 1 free deals on black Friday 😅
Not everyone cares about spiderman, just saying.
@@Killzonefanboy hell yeah, its no knock against the game but this is an exceptional year for games spiderman 2, mario rpg remake, mario bros wonder, starfield, Mortal Kombat 1 its just so much stuff coming down the pipe.

What is this, steel rising 2.0? I'll grab it when it hits 10$. Done with alternate universe puppet worlds after steel rising and that russian game that I can't remember its name now.
FUCK IGN TAKE ME BACK TO 06 when GAMETRAILERS AND G4 were on top baby!
8/10 makes no sense
why? Its very good but not outstanding.
Because it’s a bloodborne copycat. A copycat cannot score higher than the original
There was no complaints about the game
All good things.
Barely heard any negative points in that review. 8/10 ? what ?
A game doesnt need to have negatives to not earn a 10. 10 is speacial. Sometimes it can be a great game but ultimately unremarkable or not at the levels of the 8s and 9s of the world in a reviewers eyes
meh
Did fromsoftware approve this game? It's al literal clone
People still watch EA?
another overhyped game
What
Honestly if From Software made this game you wouldn't even think twice. The fact this got an 8 seems like absolute bullshit to me. I hope the docked points aren't because it's "already been done before" because if that's an argument then TOTK should get a 4. This game is incredible, and it drives me nuts that people can't seem to see it.
