The closest thing to a "that part" for me would be the swamp, but on subsequent playthroughs I'm not really dreading it.

Bloodborne has it's own video on my channel, I honestly have no interest in comparing them. They're both great games, and while LoP does in some ways feel like a spiritual successor, I think it would be a bad idea to tell people it's a lot like it. Especially considering how die-hard some FromSoft fans are.
I freaking love the hub of this game. Other than a place to upgrade and coalesce your NPCs, it's a resting place; a reminiscing place. Because it is where I just chill and listen to the amazing soundtrack (the vinyl records) which have a story themselves to tell
@@denverm7909 What bosses aren't finished? I don't understand what that even means. And yes, I've platinumed all the Souls games, including Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne. Lies of P definitely stands up.
@@thrashhhhh Fromsoftware drones always come up with the same response lmao They can't fathom an objectively well made game with 10 times the less annoyance being better than the games they mindlessly eat up
Can't stress enough how EVERYTHING about this game is FANTASTIC! You could tell a fan of Dark Souls this game was made by FromSoftware and they would believe it 100%, by that alone you could tell how great the game is, but my mind was really blown when you get to know every single reference in the lore from the original story of Pinocchio, it is AUSTONISHING how much they paid homage to the original work. I'm gonna repeat myself but everything about this game is incredible! I'm glad they sold over a million copies. I'm excited for the DLC and the next games this company will make. And as Palpatine once said: We will watch your career with great interest.
It’s unfortunately a bit too difficult for some people I think. From talking to a lot of people about it, it seems like it often gets dropped well before the finish, which is really a shame. While the whole game is good, the last area (last like 3-4 bosses) really bring the whole experience together.
Yeah it was kind of a nightmare. I didn't record my first NG cause I wasn't planning on making a video on LoP, but then I loved it so much that I decided to. Most of the footage in this video was a second NG where I where I decided to use the heaviest weapons I could get my hands on, and that was the Frozen Feast of course lmao.
@@mobilemetal4554 this is late but for anyone in the future seeing this, I’d say they’re both equal in terms of damage output but dex builds have better weapon choices.
Lies of P is a top 3 souls style game for me. Dark Souls 1 for nostalgia, Bloodborne for being close to perfection and then Lies Of P absolutely blowing my mind. Story, vibes, combat… creative meanness in game design lol an absolute masterpiece and I agree it is under appreciated
Im gonna say that Lies of P did something that Elden Ring lacks. Boss Fights are actually enjoyable. EDIT: I think the developers didn't consider the difficulty of Elden Ring carefully enough; it feels like they took shortcuts to make it challenging. Many bosses rely on repetitive, overly fast attacks that often leave little room for effective dodging. In contrast, other Souls-like games offer more manageable enemy behaviors and attack patterns that allow for strategic anticipation and response.
I adored this game from start to finish, I haven't felt so immersed in a games world since my first playthrough of BioShock. This is defiantly being slept on but I think it received enough of a cult following I'm sure we'll see more from this studio in the future
Love this video! It’s odd to me that you talk about Sekiro having more generous parry timing because I literally cannot get that timing down at all, meanwhile I have no issue with the timing in Lies of P - it just instantly made sense to me.
I believe there are literally more frames to parry in Sekiro, the difference is in the timing itself. I saw a visual model someone made on Reddit (I think) while I was working on this video, and it really helped me not only understand but actually get better at Sekiro. Whereas LoPs timing is a lot closer to when the attack lands, Sekiro’s is actually a few frames before the attack. If I can find it I’ll come back and link it.
Found it very fast, here you go. www.reddit.com/r/LiesOfP/s/9VqcabA26I It’s not exact, but it does help visualize what I meant a little better. Probably could’ve included in the video!
very good video, not spoiling too much and still able to deliver the grandiosity Lies of P deserves to be presented with, earned a well deserved sub my dude!
Lies of P quickly became like my favorite Souls like game ever and also just one of my favorites ever, despite how much I love and adore every Souls game. It's incredible to me that it could reach such heights and have INCREDIBLY few flaws. Good video! Glad I spotted it.
What I love about LoP compared with FromSoft games is the amount of viable defensive options it provides. In LoP, parrying, blocking and dodging are all equaly viable options each with its pros and cons and with different grades of viability depending what attack are you trying to defend against. Parrying is harder, yes, but that gets countered by the fact you have other defensive options, If you miss the timing of the parry you can just keep pressing the button and block instead, which allows you to then gain the health back in your next attacks like in bloodborne. TLDR In all FromSoft games there is usually only ONE really "best" defensive tool (parrying for Sekiro and dodging for everthing else) and the other defensive options get overshadowed and outclassed, but this is not the case in Lies of P.
I have played it for over 300 hours, and I'm still playing it. I've beaten bosses without taking damage, in under a minute, and I've gotten all the acheviments. I think this is worth your time

Lies of P is one of my all time favorite games, top 5 for sure. Amazing level design, characters have depth, combat is up there with From’s games. The perfect guard system is awesome and while it can be overwhelming and extremely difficult to get use to but once it clicks it’s such a satisfying mechanic. The story gets you interested and keeps that interest high throughout the entire play through. Cannot wait until the DLC drops second half of 2024.
Great game! Loved every second it. Such beautiful moments. I loved that it was always raining. Gave it a special feel. And the bosses were brutal and took me sometimes hours to beat.
Very True! I was like trying this game half heartedly just to check it out then it change when I got the first track record named "Feel" damn that eargasm. I started to love it and played 3 playthroughs.
I think the title of this video more or less communicates exactly how I feel about this game. It's really sad how many people skipped this one because they assumed it'd just be another uninspired souls-like, and honestly, even I wasn't expecting much when I started playing, but I ended up falling deeply in love with it for its story, music, art direction and its surprisingly deep combat.
I played this on Xbox on Day 1 and loved it right away. I was wondering why no one was talking about this game and felt it's really under appreciated. Atleast now I'm happy to know that it is getting appreciation it deserves.
Really loved Lies of P since it was announced. Absolutely loved the game and almost getting all trophies. Never understood why it was always underestimated but I'm happy now that there are more people preaching Lies of P. Great vid man!
Lies of P was my first soulslike game!! I saw the announcement trailer years ago and was mildly curious so I only picked it up in March. It really clicked for me in the archbishop boss fight; I realised I had to learn the parry timings instead of getting by on dodges. As for favourite bosses they're all so good! The archbishop definitely but also Laxasia and the nameless puppet :)))
This games atmosphere and the way they adapted the story of pinocchio are so cool to me, i love the parrying mechanics and the way the levels arent hard to explore, the npcs feel alive and unique, and the records are beautiful, i cant wait for their next game
I'm only halfway through this game, and the depth of it is what kills me. There's so much, there's just so much in every inch of this game that you have to take a breather and look. Sure, you can walk through the game and just fight stuff, but if you put even an ounce of emotional investment into this game, it will crush you. I do agree with you, good sir. We did not deserve this game.
Favorite boss, the king. By a long shot. As far as comparing to souls games, this is the first one to put me back in my place and actually take seriously. Yes, the other games are fun, and sure, the bosses and enemies curbstomp you. However, this is the first one to have so much deliberate detail on it that you have to sit down and comb through it. Rushing, even if you win, does not mean you succeed.
17:36 LIES!!! The Malun district was hell for me that place is build like a never ending Labyrinth it took me an hour to figure out where the hell where you supposed to go 💀
I love the video so much, i started playing LoP sometime last week or 2, so the timing is great. I LOVE THE TURNTABLE. This is kinda like a better version of the Bloodborne video. it's great.
Maybe getting to the 2nd to last boss at level 170 and still getting one shot by a combo over and over again. The door boss that does not take any damage or chapter 11 enemies taking little damage. I know GUT GUD since all the other Fromsoft games are easier. I know most people enjoyed the 4V1 fights all they need to do is have you not keep ergo when you die and have bosses refill health with each hit so it is hard enough for people. I know the fanboys also play with no-hit runs in all games. Don't say anything wrong with a game all games are perfect just like our government.
I despise parrying, and it’s pretty much unplayable if you can’t parry. That’s it really, same reason I never even bothered with Sekiro, when you design a game around one core mechanic, if a player struggles with that mechanic they won’t be able to enjoy anything else in the game.
I have no words for lies of P. I was on doubt before i downloaded it. When i started playing , i couldnt stop until i finished it. Playing as p really felt like im the main character, that i am special. The game lets me choose how the npc would feel. Those albums! Ugh dont even get me started with those albums. Absolute masterpiece.
It's still insane to me how since the game has came out, i still can't stop thinking about it. I recently played Elden Ring and loved it, i think is a fantastic game and had so much fun... And still, i can't stop thinking about Lies of P.
Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time and when I heard people comparing this game to it I laughed but after playing it.......I understand. Lies of P is in my top 15 games of all time PERFECT
Favourite boss fight was Walker of Illusions, a beautiful parry dance that was so rewarding when you won, also loved the nameless puppet another great fight. for whatever reason, I had the most problems with the puppet king but nothing too off putting. What a game, probably the best unknown game I've played. The start was very clunky but as the game opened up so did the combat options. I cant wait to see what they do next. Instant purchase from me.
it was the first boss i took down without a specter because that was not allowed. i rarely learned how to manage a boss fight in many souls and souls-like games because i got myself online support. here it wasnt possible but i wanted to continue the game. yes, it was really a nice fight and i am proud that i sticked to it. i dream of playing Sekiro one time but I dont know if I will have the nerve.
I am quite impressed by Lies of P just by giving it a short play after I was checking some other Souls-like not from From Soft and finding nothing genuinely good or not being a bad rip-off without the soul. Now lies of P is also taking ideas from a lot of different souls games, the BloodBorne aesthetics, the Shekiro style parry, some enemy placements that remind me more of DS1 personally. Takes a lot of good elements and combines them perfectly, and indeed let's you play in different ways, I didn't have to always parry like the very little time I tried Shekiro and couldn't get used to it. But it also ties it perfectly with it's own unique IP with the spin-off of Pinnochio story, with great work on the art and graphics design. They are taking and improving on elements from all Dark Souls and From Soft games, but they are doing it in a really good way. It doesn't feel like a bad mimicry like others non From-Soft souls-like I tried. It's great that this happened from a relatively unknown south korean company. I like to see that, I like to see others doing their own IPs with souls-like gameplay when they do it in a such a good way, even if I complain about everyone trying to mimicking badly the souls formula. I think I finished 3 bosses and then went back to finish some other games that are still on going (Blood Borne, DS3, Elden Ring,. really I still haven't finished any of them, but played countless times DS1/2) but it's definitely on my list of games deserving to finish.
You can roll through fury attacks btw, with the amulet from the first boss merging with the puppet halfway as you mentioned in your video. very smart to pick if you want it a little easier and like other fromsoftware games.
Lies of P is a beautiful game! It is challenging in a good way and gives a lot of space for creativity! As a Souls-Veteran, who has performed multiple challenge runs across all Fromsoft titles so far I can definitely recommend it! 🔥 Awesome video btw! I agree, this piece of art is sadly but surely underrated. It deserves more attention! ❤️
This was the first Soulslike game I've ever had interest in playing, I've tried Demon Souls and Dark Souls but this is the one that I've actually wanted to complete. Actual Masterpiece. Also, favourite boss? Romeo, the King of Puppets. Especially during the second playthrough where we finally hear everything the Puppet5s are saying, heartbreaking in the best way.

I just finished LoP the other day and it's amazing. I love the difficulty and everything feels fun. I became better at parrying because the game does encourage their players to parry. The story is so good as well i just loved the whole game. Im on my 2nd run now 🥰
Lies of P "that section" for me was the walker of illusion fight. I could not seem to get through it (even though i beat both simon and laxasia first try) Ended up just throwing a ton of consumables at her from the ladder
I still haven't fully mastered the perfect block, but I still managed to complete the game four times. For all of its difficulty, it does give you additional tools to help get through the tougher parts of the game. And I agree, playing a Soulslike with a linear design is a breath of fresh air after playing something as huge as Elden Ring. As far as I'm concerned, Lies of P deserved more love, as the game itself is clearly made with alot of heart put into it. Neowiz made a game that matches a Soulsborne game and, as far as I'm concerned, is better than many AAA games out there now.
AMAZING VIDEO. I disagree with only one main point you made. “Parrying is not your main form of avoiding damage” this was not true for me! I found myself parrying 90% of the moves and dodging whenever I felt too uncertain about the timing. Great video!!!
Fair enough! Luckily Lies of P offers a lot of options for defense, so people can comfortably choose between parrying, dodging, and blocking to suit their playstyle best. Naturally it’ll be different for everyone!
Lies of P was my personal game of the year 2023. I love everything, and I mean everything, about it. The combat was perfection, the polish even better. *chefs kiss* x 100 ❤

Korean devs are on the rise they are new kids on the block in the console market and already showing a lot of promise! Excited to see what these studios and many more to come bring to the table.
This game is amazing! It simply oozes love from the developers! The Pinocchio references are spot on, though more the 19th century books, not the Disney movie. Combat didnt click with me, until the last boss. After that, decided to get the platinum.

They're both great games, and while LoP does in some ways feel like a spiritual successor, I think it would be a bad idea to tell people it's a lot like it. Especially considering how die-hard some FromSoft fans are.
Agreed. I love Bloodborne and LoP equally. LoP needs a sequel. It’s too good to be a one time game title.

I love it. My best personal game of 2023 that I only got around to playing last week.
For me it’s between Alan Wake 2 and this, I’ve had a hard time choosing for months now. Both absolutely incredible games though.
@@CNRMRY_YT AW2 is on my list. I’ll get to it eventually 😆
I freaking love the hub of this game. Other than a place to upgrade and coalesce your NPCs, it's a resting place; a reminiscing place. Because it is where I just chill and listen to the amazing soundtrack (the vinyl records) which have a story themselves to tell
Lies of P is a masterpiece. Genuinely on par with FromSoftware.
Agreed!!!!
never, do you ever play sekiro or elden ring? lies of p has alot bugs, some bosses are not even finished...
@@denverm7909 What bosses aren't finished? I don't understand what that even means. And yes, I've platinumed all the Souls games, including Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne. Lies of P definitely stands up.
@@denverm7909 Eldenring can be an absolute bugfest too, even the enemies doesnt follow up as they should
@@thrashhhhh Fromsoftware drones always come up with the same response lmao They can't fathom an objectively well made game with 10 times the less annoyance being better than the games they mindlessly eat up
i would say that lies of p is far better than any other soulslike ive played, so much content, amazing levels, and everything in between.
I just started this, I’m not a gamer and I’ve never played a Souls game. It’s… intense, but I’m loving it.
TRUE words , UNDERAPPRICIATED.. one of the best soulslike and one of the best storytelling in games out there...
Simply one fo the best games I played that year. Sad to see alot of RUclipsrs or streamers write it off because they couldn't appreciate it.
It’s unfortunately a bit too difficult for some people I think. From talking to a lot of people about it, it seems like it often gets dropped well before the finish, which is really a shame. While the whole game is good, the last area (last like 3-4 bosses) really bring the whole experience together.
@@CNRMRY_YT difficult ? Nice joke console peasant
You can trigger the stun not only with charge heavy but also with feble arts and legion arm arts .
Yup, that’s one of the things I forgot to mention
And best thing that you can do this even before the white glow just by predicting that enemy will be stunned this very moment or just by simple luck.
Or use big ball throw
Holy shit, this lunatic actually beat NP with the Frozen Feast. Mad respect.

I loved it so much I have finished through ng+3. It's just a great game in general. The story, music, combat, all so much fun
This gave me the Rise of P ending.
This game was overshadowed in 2023. It deserved recognition
I was absolutely blown away by the quality of LoP when it came out, seriously incredible game. cannot wait for the DLC!
My GoTY for 2023. Excellent work raising awareness for it my man. Solid video!
Shhhhhhh. They might hear you.
Some are definitely more distinct and memorable.
Bruh, why do you say they aren’t enjoyable?
@@CNRMRY_YTlol
Very personal opinion of yours, I’ll never forget Marget, radahn, melania or any of the super cool dragons
I adored this game from start to finish, I haven't felt so immersed in a games world since my first playthrough of BioShock. This is defiantly being slept on but I think it received enough of a cult following I'm sure we'll see more from this studio in the future
I love this game to dwath, but wish they'd focused more on making unique and bizarre puppet enemies
I expect they'll do something of the sort in DLC
I didn’t wanna play anything else after I finished this. Nothing filled that lies of p void
Its crazy how a studio in korea went from making nothing to casually creating the best souls like game ever made. Congrats to them
Love this video!

It’s not exact, but it does help visualize what I meant a little better. Probably could’ve included in the video!
very good video, not spoiling too much and still able to deliver the grandiosity Lies of P deserves to be presented with, earned a well deserved sub my dude!
Absolute masterpiece. I only got this now, a year after release and I’m so mad I didn’t get this before
Bro how has this video now blown up dude the editing and the music is so good bro you’ve done an amazing job with this video congrats man
Lies of P quickly became like my favorite Souls like game ever and also just one of my favorites ever, despite how much I love and adore every Souls game.
I don't think LoP's parrying is as good as Sekiro's. The windows r way too tight imo which gets frustrating.
I have played it for over 300 hours, and I'm still playing it. I've beaten bosses without taking damage, in under a minute, and I've gotten all the acheviments. I think this is worth your time
I love from soft games but this game is my favourite so far, thanks for showing how great it is!
Just bought it on steam sale and I'm already lvl 50 having way too much fun. The graphics, combat systems, and story are incredible.
That opening sequence with the french song and ambience gave me MAJOR Bioshock flashbacks
Man I've never seen this rich quality and informative video in a while.

- has 92% positive reviews on Steam
- sold 1000000+ copies

Didn't play the first one but I absolutely LOVE Nioh 2
Mario Odyssey is my favorite souls like
Lies of P is one of my all time favorite games, top 5 for sure.
Feel is my favorite song from the game too. It's just sooo good!
The only thing this game did was make me appreciate Sekiro and FromSoft games more.
This games atmosphere and the way they adapted the story of pinocchio are so cool to me, i love the parrying mechanics and the way the levels arent hard to explore, the npcs feel alive and unique, and the records are beautiful, i cant wait for their next game
Lies of P was my intro to soulslike games, I'm currently playing Elden Ring but there's something magical about Lies of P
Great video! My favorite boss is Laxasia and my least favorite is either the Door Guardian or the second Black Rabbit Brotherhood fight.
I absolutely loved using the 🌂 Love this game!
Lies of P beat out all From's mechanics, upped the beautiful soundtrack, NAILED the graphics, AND fixed the camera. Absolute GOAT game
no, the dodge and parry suck and still have camera issues
Love of the genre and the source material just oozes from this game. You can tell they had a vision, and stuck to it strictly.
I LOVE THE ART DIRECTION OF THIS GAME SO MUCH 😭😭 CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE ART BOOK AAA
the artistry and the amount of scenes that have meaning without a single word spoken , is fucking astonishing.
The OST of this game on top of all the praise this game deserves just cannot be overstated. Some of the best music in this medium
i agree
Feel. ESPECIALLY FEEL. THAT OST MADE ME FEEL THINGS I DIDN’T KNOW I COULD FEEL
17:36 LIES!!! The Malun district was hell for me that place is build like a never ending Labyrinth it took me an hour to figure out where the hell where you supposed to go 💀
that might just be you my boy, Malum district is a circle. But I can understand your pain as I got lost in Lorenzini Arcade a lot
I love the video so much, i started playing LoP sometime last week or 2, so the timing is great. I LOVE THE TURNTABLE. This is kinda like a better version of the Bloodborne video. it's great.
Thanks Nicholas 😉
It boggles my mind that people dislike this game for various reasons. (Mostly game play) this is so good.
Yup! Doesn't make a lot of sense.
because they are trash at it
A lot of people think its a trashy rip off of BB and that's OK because different people like different things. You fan boys are the worst
What a great video man, loved it, it really gave the justice this masterpiece deserves ❤️
I didn’t love walker my first time through, but on subsequent playthroughs I ended up really liking her.
it was the first boss i took down without a specter because that was not allowed. i rarely learned how to manage a boss fight in many souls and souls-like games because i got myself online support. here it wasnt possible but i wanted to continue the game. yes, it was really a nice fight and i am proud that i sticked to it. i dream of playing Sekiro one time but I dont know if I will have the nerve.
Thier first try? Absolutely amazing bro. I been playing for almost a month haven't experienced not one crash or nothing i love the game
Finally got round to playing this, finished it a few nights ago. Excellent game. So glad i gave it a go.
You can roll through fury attacks btw, with the amulet from the first boss merging with the puppet halfway as you mentioned in your video. very smart to pick if you want it a little easier and like other fromsoftware games.
i just finished it yesterday and it was honestly i masterpiece
it took me a week to finish it but man it was awesome
@1:25 For some reason, it feels like I'm the only one who found the after credit scene, mind-blowing.. never hear anyone talk about it
Lies of P is a beautiful game! It is challenging in a good way and gives a lot of space for creativity! As a Souls-Veteran, who has performed multiple challenge runs across all Fromsoft titles so far I can definitely recommend it! 🔥
Awesome video btw!

This game is amazing. I have only platinum a handful of games this is one of them. The story/atmosphere and the music truly a masterpiece. I can listen to feel ok repeat
This video is exceptionally well made.
Well thank you!
I'm watching this after finishing the game two times.
This game is amazing. It deserves more recognition. I cant wait for a DLC or sequel announcement.
Agree with everything you said, I cold have written this haha😂

Something I never pay attention to is the records that you can collect through out the game. Quixotic, feel, why… I never thought of such a playlist in a game like this.
You should do a colony sim game review - Rimworld, Kingdoms and Castles, Oxygen not Included, all that jawn
I probably will at some point… idk if this counts but I love factorio. I need to play more of them!
Rimworlds Medieval Overhaul is a pretty awesome one to try out
Korean devs are on the rise they are new kids on the block in the console market and already showing a lot of promise! Excited to see what these studios and many more to come bring to the table.
The music in this game alone makes it better than a lot of games I’ve played
I know I’m late asf to the Lies of P party but I just recently started playing it & I was hooked dude. It’s so fuckin good
This game is amazing! It simply oozes love from the developers!
The Pinocchio references are spot on, though more the 19th century books, not the Disney movie.
Combat didnt click with me, until the last boss.
After that, decided to get the platinum.
My entry point into the souls genre was jedi fallen order. Only because starwars. I thought it was fine. Just got lies of P a week ago and omg it's fantastic. I'm dying SO much more than i ever did in jedi but I'm finding the whole experience so much more fulfilling
