      Of course he does, he learned from Parcells. Look at all the successful coaches that were under him. If Parcells had Brady for 20 years with today's rules that don't allow you to touch the QB or WR's, he would have been every bit as successful as Belichick.

    Until I watched this I wondered exactly what it is that makes Belichick and the Patriots such a great team. I said why don't just other teams watch and find out what drives this team from behind the scenes. Again, after watching this I realize how oversimplified I made this observation look. I realize now creating a good football team can be created by drafting and signing of free agents BUT a GREAT football team is created by the actions and integrity of a player on the field and off the field. Its how each player on the team makes a commitment to something bigger than themselves. Its something that most football teams lack, especially nowadays.
    It is Bill Paarcells that helped to mold Belichick into the coach he is today. I'm assured Belichick doesn't have a bad thing to say about Parcells and if he did Parcells would agree.

      Young was Machiavellian. He went behind Parcells’ back and tried to hire Howard Schellenberger the year Parcells lost both his parents within 6 months and he was trying to get the Giants’ back on track in the 1983 season. Then when Parcells’ delivers the goods and gets the Super Bowl trophy Young starts complaining about Parcells flirting with the Atlanta Falcons about their coaching position.
      Then after the 2nd Super Bowl title....he dogs the hell out of Bill Belichick and hires Ray Handley instead.

    • @MrAschiff
      @MrAschiff Год назад +1

      @@byrongammonbyrongammon9937 He didn't try to hire Schnellenberger, he did try to see if he needed to go to him if Parcells had another bad year. Parcells' first year with the Giants was a disaster. They were 3-12-1. Young was upset that Parcells was given credit for the Giants championships and refused to bring him back to the Giants and told Mara he would quit. This was in the 1990s after his run in New England. Yes, it was a mistake to hire Handley. For some reason, Young didn't like Belichik,. He did like Coughlin, but Parcells didn't leave the Giants until after the season was over. By that time, Coughlin already got hired by Boston College. and Belichik by the Browns (not that he would have been elevated anyway).

    • @byrongammonbyrongammon9937
      @byrongammonbyrongammon9937 Год назад

      @@MrAschiff, no sir. George Young did indeed offer the Giants HC position to Schellenberger. Schellenberger declined the job offer else Parcells would have been gone. Young wasn’t upset that Parcells was given credit for the championships…..Young was upset that Parcells tried to stick it to Young by negotiating his way into becoming the HC of the Atlanta Falcons after the 1986 championship season in retaliation for Young pursuing Schellenberger after the 1983 season. After the Young-Schellenberger dance Parcells’ view on loyalty went out the window, loyalty no longer existed. Parcells had heart bypass surgery after the 1990 season. Yes, you’re correct that Young did NOT want to bring Parcells back to the Giants after his New England run. Young felt that Parcells couldn’t be trusted after pursuing the Falcons HC position after the 1986 season and dragging his feet on making a decision to stay or go after the conclusion of the 1990 season. Tom Coughlin had already accepted the Boston College HC position during the 1990 season….well before the Super Bowl, Coughlin was moving on. Young soiled the bed with his ego. Young viewed Belichick with disdain and the decision to bypass him set the franchise back. Young did make some good moves during the 1980s. Both drafting Jeff Hostetler and NOT trading him when he was incensed riding the bench. Trading for OJ Anderson during the 1986 season in exchange for second and seventh round draft picks in the 1987 NFL Draft. He also parlayed trades of OL Gary Zimmerman and CB Mark Haynes into picks that yielded Erik Howard, Pepper Johnson, and Mark Collins.

      In 1986, he could of had clowns as assistant coaches and they would have won the Super Bowl. They were the best team in the league that year. With that said, 1990 was Bill Belichick's greatest masterpiece.

      vambo13257 ....really? Parcells is more of a motivator......players are more loyal to Parcells. Parcells has a MUCH BETTER coaching tree. There are 12 Super Bowl appearances on his coaching tree.....9 championships. How has Belichicks coaches done? Don’t knock Parcells brother.....he got the Giants on the map in the modern era.

      vambo13257 agreed about the Bills being a more talented team. But....when things get tough....the ones that survive and prosper aren’t necessarily the strongest.....but those that play TOGETHER.....and that 1990 Giants team was damn delightful.

    He provided credibility to the Patriots when they desperately needed it and took a team with average talent to the Super Bowl. But he'll never be in the Pats HOF for electing to not fly back with the team after that tough SB loss. Absolutely shameful.

      Parcells was a part of 3 of Belichick's 12 Superbowls. And Parcells only has 3 whereas Belichick has 9 more.
      That's right folks, in doing the research even more Belichick was actually a part of 12 Superbowls!!! One could make a case that Parcells wouldn't have gone to his 3 Superbowls without Belichick. Parcells never did it without Belichick, whereas Belichick did it without Parcells 9 more times.
      We are showing even more evidence why Belichick is better.
