Hi, Dark Sun! Those would stack very well together. I'm a huge fan of Big Muff style fuzz pedals, but sometimes they can have a hard time cutting through a mix due to a lack of mids. Stacking it with a Bonsai would help solve that issue, in addition to simply getting a killer "Screamer" style pedal in your setup. Thanks for your interest! Try one in person, you’ll hear the difference. They all have different feels and dynamics. It’s fun being able to bounce around between the different types.
Hello, Gus! Depends on your desire for options, budget, and patience… $99 for the mod and you're without the pedal for the transit and work time, and the result is a great sounding pedal. Buy the Bonsai and you have several tonal options (including the mod and the original) and only wait as long as it takes for us to ship it to you. Albeit for a higher investment. You don't lose either way. Please contact me direct with other gear questions. Appreciate you reaching out! Everything was mundane but basically ok until the last bend in the style of "kirk whammett", who holds the title of the worst, most unmusical bend and vibrato in the business.
So the idea that they just got it "right" the first time, talking about TS or Tele's, strats, LP's, Marshalls, is nonsense. They didn't just happen to get it right, like some cosmic alignment happened in those times. What happened is when artists used them they set a standard of aesthetics and the further you go away from that set aesthetic the worse it's perceived to be. It could very well have happened in reverse and the same thinking would apply.
A lot of respect for you Sweetwater guys, but i don't hear any difference with this guy on the guitar. Could be the wrong guitar, wrong amp or intonation or the lack of beating the sh.t out of this pedal.

I like JHS's unenthusiastic enthusiasm
He seems a bit more camera shy than he is now
Wow, this new Bonsai pedal sounds like an engineer's nightmare, can't wait to try one of these!
JHS should do this with the different takes on the Klon and blues breaker pedals.
Well they have the morning glory, but I mean it would be cool to have multiple transparent drives in one like the breaker
They just did this with the RAT. it’s amazing.
And they’ve done similar with the Big Muff.
@@jeffball6656 the Pack Rat is my favorite distortion pedal by a landslide.
Great pedal for different guitars, amps and most importantly, how you need to fit into the song.
Love a bit of parametric drift on semiconductor components. My ‘80’s Tube Screamer bought second hand in Montreal is awesome. 🇬🇧🙌🎸
Mitch’s reviews are second to none
Thanks, Cameron 😎
That guy reminds me of toby from the office

When Don starts playing at 11:10 I'm like "uh, you're not in tune there" then I see he is playing a Gibson, and I'm like oh, never mind. LOL.
Joshua Larose lmfao
we call that "Gibson standard"
Toby Flenderson is alive and well, I see.
rtotheichard I knew he reminded me of someone
Hahahaha josh is so excited 🤣🤣🤣
If you see that you will never guess how funny he is 😅
Definitely getting this, the fuzz, and the rat
The differences seem very subtle until Don Carr hits that F chord down at the 1st fret. Then BOOM
I knew thats how he did it. The railway thing. I love it
I bought this pedal and use the ts7 part of pedal the most
James Powlett Did you get hum in there?
Just got 1 today! Amazing pedal! Ya that XR is killer, and the JHS is just killer!!
Josh is the best
Gonna have to get one!!
Please don't? There's far more versatile to be had for less money.
@@nicolasdelcastillo6497 I mean if you want a tube screamer outside of the mini I feel like you mine as well get this
It’s great 👍
Please do the same with distortions!
Now THIS would make sense.
"yeah. super exciting."
I wonder how great this would sound with the muffletta?

*After 5 almost identical tones*
Mitch: So it's pretty dramatic!
Lol.
that's exactly what raised my eyebrows. i didn't hear any difference

"A lot of people have seen it on Instagram" ...immediately checks Instagram.
Starts@11:10
I hope this concept for a rat clone pedal
Great idea
It's out now
Aged like wine
Josh is in this video and he isn’t shown in the thumbnail or video title?!
i guess click baity thumbnails were not the norm 5 years ago.
So should I send in my ts9 to get the JHS mod or just buy this pedal???

Sweet Tea v4 and Sweet Tea v5 coming soon.
The interviewer’s breathing *every single time* Josh speaks is 😑 Perhaps turn his mic down when he’s not speaking??
I can't hear any difference lol
I bought one. It's really hard to hear the differences on RUclips. The difference is obvious when you have it in front of you.
It's something you definitely need an ear for. At the end of the day, they are all still tube screamers.
Dude. This is sweet! Sweetwater or J hs please send me one!
That's some uninspired playing... very interested in the pedal nonetheless.
Everything was mundane but basically ok until the last bend in the style of "kirk whammett", who holds the title of the worst, most unmusical bend and vibrato in the business.
The bypassed signal was garbage. I wanna hear this thing with a better input.
This and the plimsoul, makes my hole weak.
Hi Z ASMR Caveman. A good compressor might help. Thanks for watching!
