    The Keeley Mod setting is my go-to.

    People always say TS10 ... John Mayer. But let's not forget that some of Gary Moore's best performances were also achieved with the TS10!

    So it's a Swiss Army Knife OD pedal. Very cool of Bonsai to incorporate all those classic sounds into one pedal, will check it out.

    Thanks for the demo, John--I'm an intermediate hobbyist kind of player, and these tonal differences are so subtle, I don't know I can make the plunge. Good news for me is that the JHS Strong Mod is my favorite tone of the bunch (based on your demo) and the 3 Series Screamer includes a TS plus the JHS Strong Mod, for less than half the money. Hope this helps someone! Maybe soon I'll be smarter tonally and will go hunting for a Bonsai. Thanks again!

    I have a TS7. I love that overdrive. This is worth the buy for that alone.

    Really, really nice Tele. I usually don’t like a lot of distortion pedals, but this one of what I heard sounded good.

    I used to really not like Tube Screamers. The midrange focus made me think they sounded kind of small and fake. Many years later, after owning countless ODs, now producing my own music and mixing it... I love Tube Screamers haha. I want this one 🙃

    Not emulated. These are the exact circuits from those pedals.

    Everybody calls this pedal the “banzai” instead of “bonsai”…it’s a beautiful miniature Japanese tree, not a berserk war cry, y’all…LOL

    John, there’s an overdrive pedal killing device out there it’s called the Fuchs ODSII amp. It sent all my drive pedals to Reverb store, true story, always great stuff from you by the way👍👍👍 contact Andy Fuchs for info.

    I’m not 100% sure, but I think the OD-1 setting is modeled after the Nobles OD-1, not the Boss Super OverDrive

    • @WJL91
      @WJL91 6 лет назад +4

      Michael Lee boss super overdrive is the SD1, this is modelled after the boss od1, not the nobles if I’m not mistaken.

    Doesnt the OD1 predate the tube screamer?

    • @emilian4934
      @emilian4934 3 года назад +1

      Yes it does the OD1 premiered in 1977 and the first tube screamer was made in 1979

    Lousy sounding Tele man. I usually John's demos but this one was really harsh. Those Fender Super Sonic amps are my thing, although the SS22 sounds great. I wish he played more melody stuff but I don't know if it was the amp, pedal or guitar...bad sounds for my ears! Still love you though John...

    could do with some oil on that fretboard

    Although I love most of your videos, and this pedal is amazing, this really doesn’t show off the sound of it with that guitar and that particular amp, that is so thin and shitty.
