I am an engine machinist w' 40 years experience, and 20 years watching vid clips of odd projects like this. This has the best editing, has the best sound and visual quality, no stupid music and OMG, a direct and to the point effing script! I wept. I wailed in astonishment. 5 stars!

This is for the ladies out there: I am a 54 year old single woman and I did this simple repair alone (thanks to the video!). It is not hard to do. I ordered my part from Amazon for about $13. My washer works like a charm now. Thank you so much for this helpful video!

Amazing. Single mom, no repair skills or knowledge and I had my washer fixed in no time! This was the second part I've changed out with the help of these vids. Between the two repairs I spent $23 on parts and I've saved at least $200 DIY. Thanks repair clinic!

I would strongly advise against buying a low priced clutch off Amazon or eBay unless you really want to do it again. Lesson learned, get a genuine Whirlpool part.

For clarity: The symptoms on my washer were EVERYTHING worked great except over time the spin got slower and slower, then stopped completely. No weird noises, it washed, filled, drained, all OK. But would not spin. The motor was running normal, but the tub would not spin. The old clutch did not look THAT bad, but as soon as I tested the new one it spins like crazy new. Repair is NOT that hard, clutch can be found local for $40-$50, or order from these guys. Good people!

I NEVER would have been able to do this on my own without this video! Most written guides recommended hiring a technician. Still, I decided to buy the parts and do it myself... I'm happy to say that thanks to this simple, to the point video, I not only completed the job, but without any problems! It made it EASY! Now my old washer has a new lease on life! So if your washer isn't spinning, Do a little on-line research before calling a technician. You might be able to save money by fixing it yourself!

And if this doesn’t work, check tub to see if any small clothing is caught in between the wash drum and wash tub that could be binding washer from spinning. Put washer on backside, look for tub drain. Disconnect drain hose. Have someone spin drum as you look to see if any article of clothing is caught in between drum and wall. If so, take a retraction tool with prongs to pull out from tub drain. Put washer upright. Turn on spin cycle. Lift lid just enough to see if drum is spinning. You may need a flashlight to shine underneath lid to see if drum is spinning.

I first noticed my heavier loads (towels) were not spinning dry. Eventually, all my loads were not spinning dry. All other wash functions worked fine. This was the fix. Couldn't see anything visually wrong with the old clutch, but now the washer works the same as when I bought it 7 years ago. It's an easy enough project. If you can change brake pads, you can do this.

My Whirlpool washer quit functioning on the spin cycle and with the help of this and a few other sites I diagnosed and replaced the faulty clutch. This video is the best I have seen of it's type. Thank you

Bless you and your video! Before I had found this video I had studied Whirlpool online repair course. They overcomplicated it terribly, removing the control panel and cabinet. After seeing this I dove in. I bought the clutch for $40.00. 1/2 hour later my wife loves me again! I did have trouble getting tranny flush as the basket bushing had moved and I had to bang it back in place. Thank you so much (You can do it too!)

Just the right amount of information for a DIYer. Doesn't assume you have 20 years in the business, yet not bloated by useless fluff. Thank you! My model has a metal clip and plastic drive cam under the agitator that prevented me from removing the motor until I found them. The hardest part was replacing the bent-wire retainer ring; you make it look so easy in the video, but it kept slipping off my screwdriver. Any hints?

Great video. Needed a refresher since the last time I had to do this repair. Inherited a 10 year old Whirlpool with the house I bought over 10 years ago. Every couple years it needs a few bucks in parts. Thanks to videos like this, I avoid hundreds in repairs.

Just wanted to say "Thanks a million" It was so easy, literally 10 minutes. Washer spins like new now (I didn't realize how slow it was getting). Saved me about 400 bucks for a new one!
