I just wanted to THANK you all for your loyalty and lovely comments! I have to confess, I started making these videos with my Mom (Ofelia) for myself and my children. I know a lot of people don't get to pass down recipes or have the ability to learn to cook from their parents. I wanted to document our traditions so that I, my kids or my Grandchildren can see their Nani and learn directly from her. Thank you all for joining us in the kitchen and being a part of our family. It is truly a blessing to be able to invite you all in and share our memories with you. She is your Mom as well, if you were here, she would treat you as if you were... Peace and Love, Maria
I enjoyed your video so much, Maria, especially the talk and laughter between you and your mother. What a wonderful treasure you are creating for your family to always have as a reference in the future. I would give anything in the world to have the same from my grandmother. But personal computers were not even around in her days. And I doubt very highly she would have let me film her. It was hard enough to get a photo of her. lol I've already added a broom handle to my shopping list. How long does it need to be cut, like your mom's. It looks like about 12" or so. Is that about right. Will you ask your mother if they need to be sanded afterwards or can I use it as is, after cutting? Thanks again! :)
Meat & Potatoes, Recipes and More! I Love Your Family. Your mother is so cute. Im an eyeball measure person to so that works in my favor. Everytime i try to cook from a box it never comes out or even a step by step recipe unless i just get super lucky. Lots of love from Texas God Bless and keep you.
I feel like Im washing a friends family home movies. I recently lost my dad and lost my mom 11 years ago...I enjoy and appreciate you sharing your personal family heritage so generously. 🧡👍🏼😊
Thank you for sharing this. A great recipe and demo of your grandma's method. I actually got a little teary-eyed watching this because I could feel the love and pride your Mom feels for your family radiating through. Bless you all.
I love your mom. As a young kid I lived in a Mexican neighborhood. Skinny, blonde, and of German descent I was apparently under nourished in the eyes of all my friends mothers and grandmothers. I got stuffed everywhere I went as a result. In fact I had to run by certain houses because if any Abuelitas saw me they'd drag me in and feed me even if I'd already been stuffed a block away. Well, I never got fat and there's nothing like Mexican cooking and hospitality. For my first few years I thought I'd grow up to be a Mexican. Well, my taste buds did. Congratulations to both of you and that lucky little kid I heard in the background.
Love you two, so sweet. My mother never liked to cook, though she does do it. Cleaning was her thing and still is. She was sure meat had to be cooked to old leather. If it wasn't for cookbooks - before the net- I would never had learned how. I really enjoy seeing parents sharing their secrets with folks. I have just the skillet for you tortillas. Thanks so much.
Thank you for your recioe. This is day w of homemade flour tortillas. My mum used to make them for us every day. Beans rice and flour tortillas. My mum has since passed away God rest her soul. This has certainly brought some great memories for me. And I know her presence is in my kitchen. Thank you kindly

Thanks for the tex mex style tortilla .uuuuuuummm delicious AMEN
My mom always calls her food Tex-Mex because that's what is authentic to HER (us). If you make food and call it "authentic mexican" the critics will jump all over you. I'm so glad you watched it and felt good! PS-I have 27 FIRST COUSINS on mom's side.
Your Mom is awesome! I felt such a lovely warm fuzzy mom vibe from this! I kinda needed it! The stuff she said at the end was like a warm hug! Thanks for creating/sharing it!
My great grandmother Rita used to make these with papas con caldo and frejoles when I was a kid growing up in Texas in the early 70's. Thank you so much for bringing back those memories for me.
This is so cute. Mom and daughter enjoying cooking together. I had a Mexican neighbor who taught me to make the ones shaken in sugar and cinnamon. I love this. Thank you so much.

I love your demo! A few days ago I made them and they were perfect. I will NEVER buy store bought again. They have three paragraphs of bad ingredients. These are wonderful. Thank you❤️
Thank you for refreshing my memory of my grandma making tortillas. She never use measuring spoons either, it was always with the hand or fingers (for the lard) I'm tired of the store bought tortillas. She taught me how to make green chili and beans and of course tortillas. She said I would never go hungry because of the things taught me. My wife and friends love my green chili and pork. She made hers on a coal and wood stove. THANK YOU for sharing. UHENIO ALVAREZ
Your mother is such a delight to watch I thoroughly enjoyed your video. She should be on tv! And as for the recipe, I will make some tortillas today. Hope they taste just as good as hers.

Excellent instructional video ladies. I am a 60 year old white guy that has never tried this before and I think you were great teachers. Here goes nothing!
Thank you so much for showing this authentic flour tortillas video with your Mom. I loved her. She was so sweet, thorough and reminded me of my own Mom who is in Heaven now so I've teared up. I am also from Texas - San Antonio - and there is no other "authentic" way of making flour tortillas than this. We are the flour taco capital of Texas! LOL! This is the way flour tortillas are made and the way my Mom showed me and my three sisters - but only me and one other sister of mine actually still make them! Mom showed me how to make tortillas when I was 6 years old!!! Again, thank you, and God Bless your Mom and You!
