Great vid, thanks Jonny. I hadn't heard of Tavarish before (I guess I'm in a minority), and checking out his channel and going by the thumbnails frankly if one had been put into my feed I likely would have given it a pass, as they come across as click-baity and gimmicky. That's the curse of the algorithm, which is a shame. But I will definitely check out what Tavarish has been up to, so thanks for giving me a chance to get to know him!
Yeah... its really devolved lately. Several channels I already follow Ive been avoiding some of their videos because the clickbaity title and cover image are just too offensive to me. 🤷
I have to admit that Tavarish is one of only a few Americans I watch, along with Hoovie and the Car Trek series, simply because he isn't loud and brash like a lot of them, and he does do a detailed show of what he is repairing.
@@nigelpogson5411 Same here , I started with Samcrac, and moved on to tavarish and Hoovie still enjoying the content, think I will be with them for decades to come.
I really hope someone at McLaren reaches out as a result of this video. Even if it's not official it would be so good to know that someone at McLaren was in any way rooting for Freddy enough to make contact.
I think they have contacted each other and helped where they can. He now is in contact with after market companies to improve the P1 further than McLaren can help. Batteries, carbon body and engine etc. McLaren have been one of the better companies by the look of it.
In one of the first videos he went to his local McLaren and got a valuation for the cost of repairing and yeah, there’s a reason he’s doing it himself, fully recommend watching the series
In one of the early P1 vids (possibly on 2varish) he said that Zak Brown has DM'd him. Maybe a little help with the hybrid battery software would be useful! :D
I first saw this guy helping Mat Armstrong rebuild a certain purple Porsche in Florida, taking Porsche bits as luggage. He even gave Mat a free Ferrari engine when Mat sold him the Porsche. Thanks Jonny - a really fun Idol Chat. 😊😊😊
@@christianbuczko1481There has been a huge surge of people especially in the UK getting into automotive youtube content only since covid. So a lot us who have been watching youtube car content for well over a decade have watched the American channels, because frankly they did a lot of it first.
2 genuine car guys just having a great chat. Properly interesting and would love to see more of you guys together. Jonny would be brilliant guest on car trek, which is brilliant btw. Keep being humble and yourselves. We will keep watching.
Had the opportunity to meet both of these guys on diffrent occasions this year. Very different people creating very different content but both were awesome and down to earth. Much ❤ to both
Been a follower of Tavarish for years so was very excited to see who was featuring this time around and he didn't disappoint. Like Mat Armstrong, just seems to be one of those down to earth guys and that is why we can relate to them living the dream!
These idol chats always bring out the best in the people, you get to see a side of someone you didn't know about before and you just like them even more than you did before. Thank you Jonny and Freddie for a great chat. Just what I needed today
Thank you for this episode, Jonny. The guy called Derek Bieri from Vice Grip Garage might also be a welcome guest. Very entertaining person and getting more and more popular.
What an incredibly nice guy Tavarish is. He comes across so well - humble, unassuming and with humour. Thank you for sharing this Jonny - great stuff- thank you ❤
Ashamed to say I had stayed away from Tavarish as I had assumed he was like a lot of US car RUclipsrs - loud, egotistical etc. Saw him collab with someone here, can’t remember whom, and it changed my narrow minded preconceptions. Seems like a genuine guy and I am hooked on the P1 series, need to find time to watch some of the back catalogue. 👍
Just when you think "it's been a while since I've seen/listened to an idol chat on TLBS" hey presto there is one! And with the very sympathetic Tavarish no less! Love his channel and his approach to creating car-content on YT, same as you Jonny :)
Really interesting IC, that was. 2 top blokes chatting on the legendary brown chairs. 👌 Freddy is making some of the best, most humble content out there. For someone who is clearly very busy, he also makes times for his friends and other RUclipsrs as well, Mat Armstrong, Alex Kersten, etc, to name just a couple. 👍
Freddie said in one of his vids a few months back that he was going to do more with other youtubers and he kept to his word. His work with Bad Obsession Motorsport was invaluable and i'm sure they'll tell you that thanks to Freddies help they are probably only 5 or 6 years from completing Binky.😀
Tavarish was one of the first car RUclipsrs I started following. He seems like such a nice and genuine guy. He's been through a lot over the passed year and I think he has had issues with depression so I really do wish him the best. What surprised me was that he doesn't have a Patreon.
One of the most genuine, likeable, generous, talented RUclipsrs out there. I've followed him for years now and I never fail to be impressed with everything he does. Brilliant guest
I've been a big fan of Tavarish for years. Wow! I had No idea that Tavarish was of Russian background! This was a great interview. Very cool. Thank you.
Another top notch chat Jonny. It's really great to see Freddy over here, he comes across as a really nice genuine guy. I started watching his channel around the time of the Pimp my Ride van and he consistently puts out interesting videos - I had no idea that he was dealing with the technical side, the editing and promotional stuff himself, does he ever sleep?!
Just to add, Freddy is one of the very few RUclipsrs from the US that I enjoy following. It'd be great to see Derek from VGG in the UK. Next time you're in the US please track him down, I think he'd be an awesome candidate for a chat 👍
I'm not afraid to admit I'm very invested in Freddy's P1 build. When he releases a new video it goes right to the top of the list before everything else I watch on RUclips.
Never really watched any Taverish stuff, knew he existed and what he did but for some reason never clicked. I think one thing this and the other interviews he's done recently show is how genuine and what a nice guy he seems to be. Loves cars and wants to share what he does with those interested, zero ego. I guess I'm gonna watch more of his stuff now. Thanks as ever Jonny

Remember coming across Freddie back with the lamborghini turbo rebuild. Such a great watch, and love the way he will go the extra mile to learn the process to fix things outside of his comfort zone. Keep it going, can't wait for more P1 voyeurism
Love this. His early years sound like mine. In the 80's had a Lancia Beta HPE and ended up modifying the 2 litre lump with high compression pistons twin 40 DCNF's sports exhaust, lightened and balanced crank/fly wheel. It went from 120 to 160HP but the suspension, tyres, brakes were standard, the door frames were rusting off, it ended up blowing the diff. Then i converted a Rover SD1 3500 from auto to manual and stage one'd the engine.. The 80's were fun..
The more I watch Freddy, the more I like and respect him. He comes across as a really 'normal' guy with s hectic work schedule. A great interview Jonny.....I feel like there is loads of stuff you both could have chatted about 👏👏
These episodes to me prove the future of great content is not with major networks, the content and quality (because of the competition I suspect) far exceeds anything I see idly skipping through channels.
