  • Ever wondered what the real life of a supercar youtuber is like? Shmee150 is the original car youtuber. Shmee aka Tim Burton started his career in 2010 and has inadvertently become one of the most controversial automotive youtubers, but there is no doubt he is the hardest working. Jonny first met Tim when filming 'supercar paparazzi' in 2013 for Fifth Gear.
    Thanks for stopping by The Late Brake Show
    This is Idol Chat, where we sit Tim Burton down in the appalling brown leather chairs and try to understand what he is really like, how his life in cars began and how he deals with such an intense lifestyle. Part 2 will go live soon, where we walk around Shmee's car collection in the Shmuseum barn.
    Thanks to Tim for taking the time to let us come and film. Tim's channel is / shmee150
    Archive clips of Fifth Gear credited to North One Television. We have used the Fifth Gear video clip(s) after careful research into the legalities surrounding 'Fair Use', knowing that we have used the clip(s) in a factual, reportage way to validate the discussion point made by the person(s) involved in the original footage. We have used a short a clip as possible to validate said point. We have also used the clip in the confidence that it will act in a positive transformative way to the original clips.

      I would say it's the same with a lot of people. its pretty simple really, finding out what people want, making what people want, posting it when people want, say first thing in the morning, lunch time or in the evening etc, im sure there are lots of other bits and bobs, like colours, transitions even angles etc if you really look into it. but success never comes as a surprise

    Tim once very kindly took me out for a meal with his mate when I worked at a motorshow in Glasgow (and they drove in an Aston) . We spent all evening chatting about cars and many things in between. He was an incredibly genial guy, who inspite of having driven every vehicle you could think of never boasted or bragged. That was supposed to be a joke, but I guess you took it seriously. You are dreaming, my man. Red cameras are super expensive and are quite heavy, making them difficult to carry around for extended periods of time. He would have to get a rig to carry it on (which would be too cumbersome). Tim does a majority of the filming himself, so how do you expect any of that to work? How would he be able to film the inside of a car? He simply couldn't do it.
      You, on the other hand, seem to think that it's possible. I'm wondering what kind of filming experience you have to know all of this. Please... do tell me how you'd make these videos with a red camera on your own.

    I've watched some of Shmee's RUclips content over the past few years and if I'm honest, it just pee'd me off. Before everyone jumps on me and puts the boot in, I take my hat off to Tim who has obviously put the effort in and continues to do so and as a result has made a success of what he is doing. And yes, I am just a jealous middle aged fat bugger !! Thanks Jonny and Tim for your channels and great videos.

Well done 150, perception changed 180 degrees, Thanks Jonny for this post. Supercars not my first love, but if I need an update, Shmee150 ! I'm 62 and he is teaching me !

    Tim gets a lot of flack, but he also has a LOT of fans. Once you get under the skin of the channel it becomes infectious! Tim's knowledge and passion is almost unrivalled and much of what he does (Euro road trips, trips to the US etc) is also what I do. I also have one of the cars in his collection, so I can relate. It's incredible what he's done and he's brought some really great content out. Long may it continue.
    My car video subscription list is as varied as you can get. I love cars, I'm subscribed to HubNut as well as Shmee150 and I love them both in equal measure. The passion for cars is what's important.

    Pretty awesome video. I’ve watched shmees videos here and there, stopped for awhile, but came back and been a subscriber for over a year. As a fellow automotive RUclipsr, almost everything he said in this video was almost exactly how I am when it comes to personal life, RUclips, and my backstory. I wouldn’t be able to articulate it like Tim but it’s eerie how similar we are. I’m still a small RUclipsr but hopefully one day I can share my story like Tim did and show viewers the other side of me. Again, awesome video!! Love these type of interviews. 😎🤙🏼

      The higher pitched is actually an youtube engagement hack. Time spent increases for quite a bit and increases retention on technical side (like & subscriber as well as any call to action responses), as well as it will engage younger generations a lot more. Very important as the younger generations are quite valuable on the engagement and views numbers side, as they have more time, they spend more time, they are more curious (as they don't have the older knowledge, so they will see more videos).
      In sum, everything he does, even if annoying, has a reason to exist.

    • @sandersson2813
      @sandersson2813 3 года назад +4

      Agree, fair play to him, but I'm not a fan and it's alright not to be.
      Trouble is if you say you don't like someone and give your reasons for not liking them, you're labelled a troll, bigot, jealous or whatever when in fact it's a valid reason or reasons for not liking him.
      Can't knock him for his success though, clearly he does appeal to plenty.

    I have to say, I wasn't sure about Shmee at first, but that was probably just jealousy. I mean who wouldn't be jealous about a guy who has a fleet of wonderful cars that would take a normal person a lifetime to get just one. After watching his videos, I realize Tim truly has a passion for cars and enjoys them genuinely. He is always respectful to those around him and doesn't take for granted what he has. He is a entrepreneur who has worked hard for what he has. People should look up to that instead of trying to tear him down for it.

    • @gpaje
      @gpaje 3 года назад +2

      @freepieanchipsgarage I can say the same about you. You are upset about his running cost videos? Why is that an issue for you? He operates at another financial level than most people why does that bother you so much? What is he doing against public interest that pisses you off?

    • @gpaje
      @gpaje 3 года назад +2

      @freepieanchipsgarage What? You think people operating at this financial level are rare? I live in Socal, I know people with larger collections than Shmee, if you watch his video where he visits such people, he is a small player compared to those people. Again, he makes money with his businesses and channel, why does it bother you so much? 13 year olds? How do you know that is his target audience, you have the analytics?

    • @gpaje
      @gpaje 3 года назад +3

      @freepieanchipsgarage You can always tell when someone has a weak argument, they insult those that don't agree with them. As you can clearly re-read our earlier responses who is the one with a lack of comprehension and full of biases. I understand why you don't like him. No need to make up excuses that you can't prove (such as age of subscribers).
