Thanks for replying appreciate it i do but actually react to my song because im sick of giving American uk music reactors gems because ive being listening to this genre for years and i want to help you guys over the pond to appreciate how good this music is so throw me a f#@$ing bone ok 💯😂
Dave is the absolute GOAT of UK rap. He is a once in a generation phenomenon. I'm so pleased you guys are reacting to him! Keep up the sick reactions. Bless up from across the pond.
You two are good I can tell you enjoy doing reactions. Don’t worry about pausing it shows that you are tapped in and actually want to understand the bars. Most of us like when reactors pause at certain moments x
He also says you can go to sleep and have another type of wake for it - meaning go sleep - get killed. Wake like waking up but instead a wake like funeral wake after you’ve been killed
Dave is a real artist , he produces , play piano and guitar , you guys need to react to The song Black live and the British awards cause his playing piano and rapping at the same time , that’s when you see how talent he is 🔥
Love your reactions. Since you mentioned you got a blast hearing that he used his beat on Psycho to bring up the mood switches - let me tell you if you didn't already got told or caught it: He used this beat here on Heart Attack to slowly let us hear a heartbeat from start to end getting a weaker pulse all time till its finally plays out as a heart attack and stops. This guy is a genius.
Blue line was a film on the BBC which covers the story of a community affected by gang violence in two different neighbourhoods. Brilliant piece of film making.
Not a lot of man are even aware of that, I'm glad you know bro. He's so well musically educated that it goes over a lot of peoples heads for example when he says "Fuck Jazz, you can really see a major nine" that's an advanced musical scale but can also be interpreted as a gun. Brazy.
Just discovered you guys and WOW so clever dissecting lyrics. Flying through the videos. Love how unfamiliar you were with Dave / uk scene and now you are pros listening to fire in the booth, Potter, Akala, Devlin, Ocean etc 👌🍻
you gotta do my 19th birthday and then my 24th birthday in that order! thanks for the reaction 🔥 and if you wanna see what he was like at 15-16, watch his black box freestyles
I feel like “My OGs roamin’ I don’t need a colosseum” is one of Dave’s most underrated bars. Besides the obvious word play, it has a lot of depth to it. “Colosseum” is a homonym of “call I see him”, implying with “I don’t need a call I see him” that Dave himself is out on the streets going face on with his enemies. The colosseum was also an arena for gladiator fights with a lot of spectators, so saying that he doesn’t need a colosseum means that he doesn’t need spectators if he kills someone. The streets is his battle arena and he doesn’t need any cheering on from a crowd to do the job. Love the reaction guys, you gained an extra sub!
daves helped produce drake songs, u can hear him at the end of teenage fever, he makes beats, plays his own instruments, story tells beautifully nd his bars are crazy he’s an all round goat
Panic attack live - Dave. Bars, talent, heart. Gave me chills. The ceiling for his talent is unmeasurable. Other must reacts from Dave. Streatham Professor x Cassius Clay (you’re welcome for the Avelino introduction). Survivors guilt Starlight The list is endless honestly….
You caught a lot, considering I'm sure the accent throws you, but you will of course miss a lot too. Plus some of the slang just won't translate. But I promise you EVERY.SINGLE.LINE in this is a bar. It's an honest to god masterpiece... at 24 years old!! Who else in the world is doing this right now? If he was American he'd already be being mentioned in lists, 100%.
Black live at the brits is a must and shows him playing the piano!! It’s not like a normal live performance it’s more like performance art and the audio quality is amazing!!
Some Dave you have to check out: his "Black" live performance - his "psycho" live performance - his blackbox freestyle when he was 16 yrs old (also he is now 24 years old)
Yeah you should listen to Dave's performance of "black" on the Brits. One of the most impactful performances I've seen. You could also listen to his tiny desk performance where he performs 3 songs from psychodrama
Dave panic attack live version is good. His music is more than music it's an art piece true masterpiece his so versatile and truly talented the true listeners will always be able to absorb and appreciate dave
Amazing reaction! Dave is a generational talent for real. I back up all the others suggesting to watch Black (Live at the Brits) next! Also, what show is it that you're watching? Top Boy, by any chance? Because Dave is in it! 😁
Dave is an excellent piano player which he shows in his performance of black live at the brits, you guys should defo check that one out. He can play the guitar too, I’m not sure about the drums though
People always label Dave as a rapper. Dont get me wrong, he is but he’s more than that. The man is an artist, everything he writes he does with passion. Honestly, out of all of his albums, this one was my favourite. So clean.
this song by Dave is actually really touching because as a young person living in London I’ve lost a lot of friends to stabbings(one time about 3 boys I knew had got stabbed in the span of 2 weeks)and it seems to be a daily thing for young black children to die or carry knifes and to be in poverty and struggle.
He didn't mean LYFT when he said "have them running in the lift like they missed a meeting", 'lift' in the UK means elevator. So if he runs up on someone in their block, they run into the elevator to get away. So the US translation of that bar, although it doesn't rhyme, would be: "I had him running into an elevator like he missed a meeting" as in someone who is late for work and is trying to rush.
Yo guys, you mentioned Grey Worm from Game of Thrones, he is British and before acting he actually had a very good musical career! His name is Raleigh Ritchie, you guys should check out some of his tracks, I think you will be surprised!
Love you guys ..subbed straight away ..I’m 43 I grew up with pac and biggie and he’s no pac …this guy will be more than a rapper …he’s dangerous because he’s black hurt educated talented and a Fucking genius
@@BeersBars Can't wait. You won't regret it. When you're watching it, just remember, he was only 19 when he wrote it. You'll get what I mean when you watch. Bring on Sunday 🐐
Love seeing US finding UK talent and appreciating its fire,Dave is a str8 up goat, we have so many phenomenal artists here for you to discover ,UK hiphop is where its at, deffo sub from me
Dave is like Pac in the sense they're both great story tellers and they truly have two sides, the side where they wanna help people and spread a good message but they also got the street side that they temind you of too so you don't get too comfortable lol.
20:50 When he says 'Blue Story'. That's in reference to Rapman - Blue Story. I mentioned him in one of your last videos about his story telling abilities. It's a daily occurrence. In regards to South London, I grew up 5-10 minutes down the road from Dave, I'm about 5 years older though. He's from Streatham, I'm from Brixton (which he mentions). There was a really bad time I think during 2007 where on average more than 12 teens were dying a week from the knife and gang crime. So yes, it is the hood. But North, South, East and West London are all the same in some areas also.
brum, manny, liverpool, notts. pretty much all the cities in the uk have the “hood” icl. like i’m from the west country and it’s getting like that here too
If you’d like to know more about the origin of Lesley, react to ‘Drama’ which is a song in the Psyschodrama album, he makes reference to it there, also a great song
Dave executive produced Fredo’s album. He’s a grade 7 pianist which is one level below the highest. He’s a guitarist. Produces alot of his music and directs 90% of his music videos.
On the “my girls dad is abusive” pocket. He also says that if he does shit it will be worse for his girl, implying that she needs to fight her own fights OR that he might do something this time but he won’t be there all the time and opens her up to retaliation.
Black live at the Brit Awards 2020 is almost essential to listen to. Essential. Musically and lyrically a masterpiece. Akala Fire in the Booth pt 1 is the same level lyrically.
“ The team nearly left him faceless” could be referencing acid attacks where you roll up with a bottle of acid and throw it on their face, it permanently damages the skin on their face
Yo my brother, love your reactions to London rap. Especially Dave. But as for the hoods in London. Every area has a hood. East London ( Hackney) west London ( Kilburn ) south London ( Brixton, streatham ) north London (Tottenham, Enfield) and there crews within those areas that fight each other. London is a jungle my brothers. Every borough has a hood!

I know this is an old comment - but with regards to music, Dave is a classically trained piano player….
you guys have to remember Dave is still only 24. so his perspective is so beyond his years- do live at the brits and panic attack live
Wow he definitely sounds much older!
Dave young still, when he was 16 was already making waves, imagine Dave at 30 🤯
Made the song Picture Me at 17, it's insane what this kid does honestly
Live at the brits was Black
Pac died at 25 magine wat that man could of done if he got to 45
The woman at the end was actually Dave’s mom wich makes the song even more beautiful and shows the real struggle Dave had growing up.
That's awesome
