Dave is a real artist , he produces , play piano and guitar , you guys need to react to The song Black live and the British awards cause his playing piano and rapping at the same time , that’s when you see how talent he is 🔥

Since you mentioned you got a blast hearing that he used his beat on Psycho to bring up the mood switches - let me tell you if you didn't already got told or caught it: He used this beat here on Heart Attack to slowly let us hear a heartbeat from start to end getting a weaker pulse all time till its finally plays out as a heart attack and stops. This guy is a genius.

Not a lot of man are even aware of that, I'm glad you know bro. He's so well musically educated that it goes over a lot of peoples heads for example when he says "Fuck Jazz, you can really see a major nine" that's an advanced musical scale but can also be interpreted as a gun. Brazy.
He also says you can go to sleep and have another type of wake for it - meaning go sleep - get killed. Wake like waking up but instead a wake like funeral wake after you’ve been killed
I feel like “My OGs roamin’ I don’t need a colosseum” is one of Dave’s most underrated bars.
Besides the obvious word play, it has a lot of depth to it. “Colosseum” is a homonym of “call I see him”, implying with “I don’t need a call I see him” that Dave himself is out on the streets going face on with his enemies.
The colosseum was also an arena for gladiator fights with a lot of spectators, so saying that he doesn’t need a colosseum means that he doesn’t need spectators if he kills someone. The streets is his battle arena and he doesn’t need any cheering on from a crowd to do the job.

You caught a lot, considering I'm sure the accent throws you, but you will of course miss a lot too. Plus some of the slang just won't translate. But I promise you EVERY.SINGLE.LINE in this is a bar. It's an honest to god masterpiece... at 24 years old!! Who else in the world is doing this right now? If he was American he'd already be being mentioned in lists, 100%.

East London and South London have the worst areas in London but North still has impoverished hoods, London isnt where it stops theres hoods all over England
Dave is like Pac in the sense they're both great story tellers and they truly have two sides, the side where they wanna help people and spread a good message but they also got the street side that they temind you of too so you don't get too comfortable lol.

this song by Dave is actually really touching because as a young person living in London I’ve lost a lot of friends to stabbings(one time about 3 boys I knew had got stabbed in the span of 2 weeks)and it seems to be a daily thing for young black children to die or carry knifes and to be in poverty and struggle.

He didn't mean LYFT when he said "have them running in the lift like they missed a meeting", 'lift' in the UK means elevator. So if he runs up on someone in their block, they run into the elevator to get away. So the US translation of that bar, although it doesn't rhyme, would be: "I had him running into an elevator like he missed a meeting" as in someone who is late for work and is trying to rush.

In regards to South London, I grew up 5-10 minutes down the road from Dave, I'm about 5 years older though. He's from Streatham, I'm from Brixton (which he mentions). There was a really bad time I think during 2007 where on average more than 12 teens were dying a week from the knife and gang crime.
So yes, it is the hood. But North, South, East and West London are all the same in some areas also.
