Welcome to our 1st EVER Dave Leslie Reaction!!! This is our latest video reaction from our new music reaction channel Beer’s & Bars. Here we listen, react, and breakdown bars while enjoying some of our favorite beers. Today we, as Old School Minds had the pleasure of taking a mental excursion to the UK to check out an incredible story of pleasure and pain! This Dynamic Poet paints a picture in such a manner that it makes you feel like your seeing everything unfold right before your eyes!!! UK has compared the detail of his honesty, heart, passion, story telling and artistry to the likes of the Legendary 2Pac! From what we just witnessed we can see EXACTLY why that argument was made.

Dave does these songs without a video because he wants the listener to listen to the lyrics and vision their own picture in their head because everyone can relate to these type of stories so everybody creates their own picture which then makes the songs even more personal for millions of people, Dave is a genius and the best rapper I’ve ever heard

I’d add Panic Attack at 3. so they check can watch that before listening to Heart Attack, other than that Psycho should definitely be one of the first ones and Drama isn’t bad either, Survivor’s Guilt is great too and if they want to check out what he was doing at 15/16 there’s also a Blackbox freestyle which is definitely worth watching

This really is a masterpiece, I’ve listened to this particular track on the album so many times….one thing that people often miss is that when the phone is found, there are several calls from Jason and one missed call from a random number. Her supposed best friend Hana saved Jason as a contact, but didn’t even care about Lesley enough to save her number as a contact……kind of crushing for Lesley. It’s theses tiny little subtle things in Dave’s story telling that makes him different.

Loved this reaction! Here's a lyric from the final track of the Psychodrama album that also featured Lesley - "Do you believe that I can illustrate what Streatham is, then break the fourth wall and base Lesley on my relatives?".
Streatham is the borough of London that Dave grew up in, and the rest is pretty self explanatory.

I think it's based off of his mom. You should react to Heart Attack, he makes some kind of reference to his mom "falling" down the stairs when she was pregnant with him.
I agree, I think it is based on his mum and dad's relationship, and that he is the baby in this song. Sadly, domestic abuse is so common, 2 women a week in UK get murdered through it.
Now you’ve said it I think you’re actually right. Because the heart attack “falling” thing, and also on In The Fire he says he was taken from his mum at birth and coulda got deported. Probably to go live with his dad in Naij

Nice to see that you’re checking out Dave, Juice and him are probably my favorite two artists and I wanted to comment some recommendations for Dave or send you guys a DM to check out some of his stuff, but since you now know about him and tracy nicolini had some good suggestions I guess I’ll just add some on their comment, enjoy the journey, he’s one of the best out there right now!
You guys should react to every track from this album it’s incredible, have been a huge Dave fan from the beginning so was waiting for ages for his first full album to come out and was probably the best first album I’ve ever heard

Just stumbled across your channel while looking for reactions to Dave and Akala. Fantastic breakdowns and reactions. While I only dip my toe into this genre of music, much to my chagrin and something I need to rectify, I think you guys may appreciate another UK artist Scroobius Pip his songs Angles, You Will See Me and Porter with Dan Le Sac are wonderful storytelling journeys.

I hardly comment but y’all would probably see this. One of the best storytelling rap songs ever. Dunno if y’all got it but Hannah’s phone was the phone found in the wardrobe (Hannah is her best friend who cheated with Jason her ex man). So, Hannah cheated with Jason who abuses her. It took me 3 years to finally understand Lesley which shows how deep the song is. Pls react to “How I Met My Ex” by Dave.
Dave has multiple ‘freestyles’ on RUclips that would be good listens. He did a fire in the booth but it’s sometimes not on RUclips because of the beats in it

It’s crazy too because when he goes into Lesley and Hannah having lunch a lot of the pronouns aren’t clarified so a lot of the lines can apply to both women. “She doesn’t know she’s back with an ex-flame” etc. which is mad foreshadowing of the twist at the end.
