@@jeepindave5464 I ordered a Power Wagon. The TRX with roughly the same options was 15k more, then the dealers want 10-50k dealer markup. Power Wagon was a bargain compared to TRX.
@@cpgeorge2518 i agree. W only 8k lbs of towing its so impractical for me. I have a sports car so i don’t need to go 0-60 in 4 seconds on a truck, i need to be able to do my hauling, towing and need the 2500 chassis. Trx also just isnt that impressive in person. It’s literally a Rebel w some flare. It’s all about the engine and suspension for the trx. The pw is a more well rounded option. IMHO that is.
A while back I messaged Ram on Facebook and told them that they should make a Built To Serve Edition of the Power Wagon, since the Power Wagon originally started life as a military vehicle before they started producing it as a civilian vehicle, and they said they couldn't comment on any future models, but it they thought it was a great idea and that they would make a note of it.
Love the power wagon. I feel like you get more for the money and more versatility from family hauler, tow rig, work truck, and offroad beast. Being in Colorado powerwagon is also more well suited for the type of trails we have maybe aside from its massive footprint.
TRX would be more fun, but I barely drive anymore since I got a remote job, and I tow more with my truck than anything else so a power wagon or other 2500 package would probably be more realistic to my needs
Still love my '16 PW with 82k on the clock. No major issues. Better start going to church on Sundays more often to make sure it stays that way. Given the choice between the two trucks now? PW again without a doubt.
They're now 85k today, power wagon lifted AEV! With a HellCat engine. Update: I bought the power wagon 75th edition. Wow wee, best truck ever. I test-drive the TRX and loved the tight handling on the steering wheel, but it was smaller.
Both trucks are amazing! I am blessed enough to own the PW in molten orange w/o moon roof but with the ram boxes & tonneau cover. It is a stunning, capable machine, for those wondering, it pulls my kubota 4060l with zero problems. Ram has come a long way since I bought my first Dodge D 100 in 1083.
I don’t like the new grill with vertical slats, and I hate the fact that there’s no power wagon graphic on the side. My 2019 PW is fully loaded and was $65k, but I got it for a lot less. $71k is nuts!
I'm a ford guy but for some reason I really like the power wagon trucks so that would be my pick. I don't run desserts or do fast trail driving so the power wagon would suit me much better plus I like the higher tow ratings. The only thing that needs to be changed from the factory is the tire size. At a minimum it needs to have 35" tires with the option to get 37's.
A winch, lockers on both front and rear axles, and a sway bar disconnect on the Power Wagon. Longer suspension travel and more horsepower on the TRX. The Power Wagon is a rock crawler, and the TRX is a desert runner.
Definitely the power wagon to be able to help those that are stuck in sand, mud and to plow snow and ice in the area. And boy do I love that hemi power on the freeway! I also tow construction equipment and the trx doesn't cut it!!!!!
PW all the way! I would say about 80-90 percent of the people who will buy the TRX, won’t use that truck for what it’s intended for. (Pavement queen) Myself and the 50 plus other people in our PW group all use our trucks for wheeling, which is what they’re made for. Along with a few other things they’re good at.
Power Wagon seems more of a work truck which I don't need. I am looking for fun, I want the TRX. Also, I could just barely fit a TRX in my garage and wouldn't be able to fit the PW in at all because of the height. The TRX just looks better, the PW is just a plain jane truck.
The ram trx is an amazing truck but I'm hoping rumors are true and the full redesign of the HD trucks in next year or so will give us a new engine for the power wagon...I'm hoping for something around 500 hp...
I love my 2020 Power Wagon. The TRX would be a blast of a truck on and off road!. But the Power Wag is practical and the markup on the TRX at the same dealership was 50,000 over msrp , LOL !!!
I love the Power Wagon! For my needs and budget it's more versatile. Heavy duty jeep Wrangler in shape of a pick up truck... work truck, hauler, tower, HD, off-road overlander, in love with its design, perfect utility, Hydrablue is Magnificent. A dream off roader to me too tackle any terrain. Pet friendly. Would like more HP and Torque! The TRX is incredible, it swallowed a Challenger for breakfast, fun, I would run desserts and circuits with it, and get pulled over all the time 😂 I wish the PW to get more tech from the TRX. Prefer pistol gear shifter rather than the nob. panorama roof is awesome 😎🏆 TRX really deserves to be used fully also off-road. Both trucks are amazing 😍🤩 I do believe that the PW should have a special steering wheel, to distinguish itself. Ready for off-road out of the box is fabulous. 2023 might add some lighting for camp like the F-150. I would like that. Uniqueness of the PW 🥰 🤩😘 is very appealing. Keep on trucking!
It's not an easy decision. Pure fun factor the Raptor eating Sand Monster TRX. Ranch Hand Mountain Power Wagon. The first name in 4x4. Since 1934 Dodge 1.5 ton U.S. Calvary. I'm glad we have a choice thank you Ram. Right now im using my durable H.D. 2015 AEV prospector power wagon to tow a heavy RV and Toys off road. Camping, collecting firewood, exploring, riding, rescuing other fun loving off roaders. "Winch it!"The Ram TRX would sure be a blast in dunes, sand, river bottoms, whoops and sand berms to make my own track. :-) Now you have to factor in the 392 Hemi Rubicon. I think Ram and Jeep has you covered in all aspects of "off Road" off road MUD,SNOW,DESERT,DUNES,MOUNTAINS, SAND. Bring on the Macho power wagon option Ram. Dear Ram get rid of the KNOB. Give me the lux console gear shift or lever shift please. Keep the floor 4x4 lever direct shift. At least on the power wagon. Keep up the awesome products coming. Thank you. Hook um up at the hitch and have a tug off war. lol
This was a hard decision for me and I bought the PW. The only complain I have vs the TRX is the ride Quality, TRX is smooth like a Lexus. PW is hard on you. I still believe the PW is and looks tougher.
Unless you just want the power of the T-ReX…. Which is very fun and fine by me… The Power Wagon is literally a go anywhere, do anything, highly versatile truck. It’s the clear choice as the better all around truck. I’ve owned two PWs that I’ve towed a RV with, put motorcycles in the back, went wheeling, did dual rooftop tent overlanding, driven as a daily driver, driven across the country and they are absolutely fantastic beasts. The TRX is undoubtedly fun but…..Power Wagon for the win.
Don’t really care for either of them. Rather have a tremor but... between the two I’d take the power wagon. Small backseat wouldn’t be my problem. And the interior of it is pretty gorgeous. Trx is kind of a one trick pony. It’s a very fast truck.....
I put my money where my mouth is, but both are great options. I've always dreamed about a PW and the desert runner/Raptor style truck never appealed to me as much as the big bruiser. I tow a car of mine to the local tracks and the HD frame (even though the PW is heavily reduced payload capacity) was much preferred over the light duty truck. However, if I were to do it again at the current market values I would probably go TRX because you could probably drive it for a year and sell it for the same price...then I'd go buy a 2019+ PW.
The mpg for the trx would just kill it for me. Living with a 10 mpg vehicle for the amount of driving I do wouldn’t work. My 4runner did bad as it is at 17 mpg, I feel like I’m always at the gas station every other day but the mpg on these I wouldn’t be able to do. Lol. The trx is perfect for people who have money and basically treat it as a super fun fast capable truck on your days off or a day trip on the trail but then again it doesn’t even fit on any of the trails near me. The 4Runner/tacoma size is perfect and those barely fit on the east coast trails near me. So personally it wouldn’t make any sense for me but glad there is competition and raising the bar for these top end trucks.
How about comparing PW, TRX, and Rebel? Moab, articulation, slip, Ike, etc. 3 off road trucks by the same maker all designed with different compromises
Power Wagon all day. I have a true prerunner that cost me way less then a TRX, and would smoke it all day long off road, even with a power deficit . The PW makes an excellent tow pig/rescue truck for getting into the places I drag my off road toy's too
Well this is a no brainer. The TRX is a flashy play thing. The PW is a work truck. So if you want to go around acting like a child, the TRX. I personally am more mature and practical. So PW if these were the only 2 trucks on the planet to choose from. ;)
When you say stats for each vehicle in a video like this please say them compared stat for stat. Also you didn’t say the MPG of each truck compared. Are the TRX tires 35 or 37” stock compared to the 33” on the PWagon. Which is better on the road 2WD or 4Auto since that’s the majority of driving. What’s the 0-60 in the PWagon? Let’s see them race. But great videos. Keep up the great work!
Great comparison! I would go with the Power Wagon. Related to the PW, I especially like the one you reviewed without the large power wagon decal on the side of the bed, and way better than the fake mud stickers in years past.
Hmm...700 vs 400hp...for the same price? That isn’t a tough decision to me. But coming up with $70+ k may be a bit tough...unless I sell my house and live in the TRX back seat. ;)
TRX is probably more fun on the pavement and PW more fun off. I thought about trading for a TRX, but the PW is just more versatile and more truck than the TRX.
Sorry late for this video, but the Power Wagon. It's an off road work truck. Love the TRX but it's an off road show truck. Currently trying to trade my '20 tradesman 2500 for the '22 Power Wagon
I would spend the money on a Cummins. The Trx acceleration isn't so fun when the top speed is like 100 mph. Now if they made a street version like the Ram V10 I'm all in.
A Power Wagon at $71k would take nearly every single option added. Realistically they're more like 65-67k MSRP and they're usually easy to get 6-7k off the price to close the deal. TRX is a much more expensive truck.
PowerWagon with Fiberwerx fenders/bedsides, Carli 3.25” Pintop with Kings, 40s” tires, Regear, Muffler Delete, Tint, AMP steps and done 😎😎 maybe a Procharger/Whipple later on down the road IMHO best overall Setup end up super wide super tall truck along with a useable 6ft bed for MotoX or quads and better towing capacity will make TRX look puny
Don't regret a moment choosing my 75th over a trx. No hate to the trx, but its just a one trick pony: fast over sand dunes. The PW dominates everything else.
Power wagon. Trx is awesome, but its not a crawler and unless you can get out to the dunes or areas where you can really open it up, it's not worth it, imo. Power wagon is slightly more utilitarian and would suit my daily driving needs and be able to hit the trails on the weekends if I wanted.
I would love to have a Challenger scat pack wide body, but I live out where the roads would tear it apart. I love the idea of that big Hemi without the supercharger, for various reasons. The TRX is Hot Wheels cool! I just don't want the supercharger. The 75th edition P/W is calling me. I'm thinking it's more of a shtf vehicle. I'll try to find a green one, without the sunroof. Glass reflects light...
If I could afford it TRX all day every day over any other Dodge or Ram or for that matter any other brand even anything electric regardless of horsepower...LOL!
Like both of them but TRX would be my pick. No wait power wagon. Or hmmm.........

Don't regret a moment choosing my 75th over a trx.
No hate to the trx, but its just a one trick pony: fast over sand dunes.
The PW dominates everything else.
What I think be kinda cool is putting the Cummings 5.0 liter into the power wagon
Power wagon will last longer and I like solid axles. Easy to maintain and durable
Both are awesome but I'd go with the TRX
I have a power wagon and I would take the TRX any day of the week! Maybe it will be better with the locker bypass.
Any off-road videos of the TRX coming in the near future?
Looked at the TRX.. 84k. Then the dealer had a 20k increase on the tag and it said, "market correction". Such bs.
If I could afford it TRX all day every day over any other Dodge or Ram or for that matter any other brand even anything electric regardless of horsepower...LOL!
My Son has a fully loaded 2020 PW with the ram boxes at 80+$$ CND
