- Thats right! Sea-Doo made a pontoon. Check out this ride we got to test and how much fun you can have on the water with the all new Sea-Doo Switch!
With the classic Sea-Doo handles, its almost like you're still riding the jet-ski!

These are the AR-15 of boats! So amazing!
I really like this pontoon
Extremely innovative! This is a game changer for pontoons. Thanks for sharing.
This is absolutely the worst product seadoo has ever put out!
@@jakemiller1868 Would the LRV be a close second?
@@jakemiller1868 Tell us about your experience with it. What about it did you not like?
Great boat, I'd love to own one. However, when I tried to order one, my Sea-Doo dealer said the best we can do is put you on a list for 2023.
It's a sea doo with a "sidecar"! 😁👍
A jet ski with sponsoons, with a deck thrown on
Thanks for making this video! I have a compact sport on order! Can you tell me if the boat on the trailer will fit in my garage with bimini down or taken off if that's possible? My garage at the entrance is 9' wide, 6' 2" high, and 20' long. This is a huge advantage to having this boat if it'll fit!
In your conversations, did they talk about fishing accessories? Trolling-motor mounts, live-wells, etc.?
I'm getting one!
Will this fit in a standard boat lift? Looks like it will, double checking...
My 21' with 230 hp is ordered and I can't wait
Me too
This is a game changer! Wonderful innovation.
Now Seadoo needs to fix the issue with their PWCs sinking….
Maybe this was their fix. They added extra floatation on the sides, then they stepped back and looked at it. and said “Hey look it’s a pontoon”.
How fast do they go in different trims?
How would this hold up just off shore FL Gulf. I realize this is not deep sea or rough water but would this be reliable in moderately choppy gulf waters
Yes . It’s a jet ski with pontoons . By design it rides just like a jet ski with stabilizers. Ocean ready . As you know though only time will tell .
Like em or not they are going to sell a ton of these.
@Eric Broyles how long till you can pick it up? Heard some people have to wait nonths
Wife works at a dealership they have sold the whole allocation for the year
@@jordangregersen1201 and no will get theirs for at least another 6 -9 months the earliest. They are even shipping the shells without motors and with no guarantee you'll even get the correct parts to complete the boat. BRP is selling stuff they don't even have. If I remember right, I believe BRP had the same problem with their Polaris Slingshots
Honestly can't wait to get mine, so exciting
When you get bored with it give me a shout.
For each of the models what is the weight and towing capacity needed? Can we tow it with a car, a small suv, suv or do we need the BIG vehicles?
Any SUV can tow it. 3100 pounds.
Need one demoing a fishing set up. Please?
That’s what I want to see also
Could they be set up for decent fishing with a casting deck?!
What's with the dork chewing his gum like that, looks real professional you guys. he must be from Michigan
looks fun but i bet the ride is rough compared to others especially the short ones.
These look awesome. I've never owned, nor wanted to own, a boat, but I actually want one of these.
That said: $175 for a rear-view mirror?????
The “people need a living wage” mirror.
It looks like there is no side door. How does a person who doesn't get around well board the boat?...thanks
Thanks for the video. The one thing I haven't seen on any of these videos is the speed. Any talk about what speed each size/motor can run? Thanks again!!! Definitely something more "fun" than a traditional pontoon/tritoon but with the nice deck of one.
According to the spec sheet on their website between 44-46 mph top speed.
@@tristanfries
Thanks. I must have missed that somehow. I appreciate your help!
There are 3 engine sizes 100hp, 170hp and a 230hp. I was all over the place on speed depending on the vessel i was on- I never saw 40+, but that's because we had 4+ people on a boat at a time- we came close a few times...
@@erikkyle660 Did you drive the 13ft compact 170hp and the 18ft sport 230hp by chance? I am trying to decide between the two.
@@MR.TOYBOX only live once get the 230
It looks smaller than the LRV!!! lol
People have been waiting close to a year and "still" haven't gotten their boats yet.
Specs say max 9 passengers on the 21' model, but on the website I see some configurations that actually show 13 "seat spaces" (including driver). Never having owned a boat before, is the 9 passengers advertised by Sea-Doo a legal thing or could one technically have 13 people on board if some were smaller (lighter) children? Also, am I wrong to assume the 230 hp version has enough power to pull a decent-sized adult on a wakeboard at a reasonable speed?
Typically the passenger count is an average. The spec sheet says 9 passengers/maximum load capacity 1466lbs. As long as you aren't over 1466lbs the coast guard shouldn't fine you. Lol
And yes... 230 HP will pull just fine.
230 will pull MORE than fine.
You are required to stay within weight AND people. It’s not one or the other.
@@WaterDR-tw8re correct me if I'm wrong but coast guard only requires capacity plates for boats under 20 feet. The 21 footer according to the math should say 11 anyway.
@@jpf1978 🤣🤣🤣 you're so right
A fish pro version of this, please.
They have a package in there website. For 50k you could have a really nice 19’fish and ski deep V hulk with 115hp outboard with helix 10 fish finder gps. Sea doo is for burning fuel and riding around not sure why they even wasted there RnD on this. Rides like shit just like a wave runner. Boring droneing noise for hours on end
@@justinjones5281 Which version did you test?
@@paulhiett5285 the 115. I have the base package can still ski but if you bring more than 2 adults it’s slow. This is great for most use cases
I hope they're manufacturing a lot of these
Are they going to be horribly inefficient compared to an outboard though?
No
@@crosisofborg5524 thanks for the specifics and the source of your information. Was very helpful.
Yah, ...hate handlebar steering.
You get a lot for the money I’m on the website right now
BTW, the fully loaded 21 footer shows $43,000 for the top model…not $36,000, but I do agree that it seems to be a great value
You can get up to 50k pretty quick with upgraded audio too.
Yes, please specify the 21' is easily in the mid $40k range. Also you can't configure a single Switch to come out to their lowest claimed price of $17,999. Tried it 100 different ways. No Switch offered for that price. Smallest cheapest option was $20,099. Try it!
@@jeffdavidson2390 another RUclipsr had that issue but I believe they said when you get to a certain point in the build you can remove optional accessories and get it down to the $17,999.
@@jeffdavidson2390 choose the base model then click on compact for length. It's a little confusing because it doesn't say 13 feet right nexr to where it says 16 feet and 19 feet.
I built one to almost $60k…
Does it hold enough gas to go from CA to Hawaii?
That would be about a four day trip maybe longer and needing at least 1,000 gallons of fuel and not to mention the hazards of the open ocean.....no thanks! At least you would probably be the first Sea Doo to do that crossing if you could pull it off, but it's a long shot.
😂 oh yeah it will make it to Hawaii! Just buy some paddles
Let's talk about the guy smacking his gum on the boating 🚢 clips, you are not cool 😆 🤣 😂
How fast does the 230hp go?
42 or 44 mph depending on model that the 230hp is in....supposedly....if you can find one
You have to pay $2500 delivery fee and another $1000 set-up fee so add $3500 onto the base price which is why the cheapest model is closer to $20k
Where did you get that info from??
@@MR.TOYBOX I bought one today and I was told shrink wrapping fee and delivery on a truck was $2500 “freight” and $1000 for dealer prep / rigging fee.
I just bought it today so I have 3 days to rescind the contract if another dealer tells me these fees are unnecessary
What did you buy? if you don't mind. I'm stuck between 18 and 21 fT. I wanna be able to fit 9 people
@@Captainhairyass 21ft. You can carry 9 people on the 18ft and you can carry 9 people on the 21 foot BUT.... you have more seats on the 21 foot which means it’s good for families with children, because it’s not about passengers, it’s about weight. The average pontoon boat weighs 1800-2000lbs but these weigh 2600-2800 lbs. which means less buoyancy which is why they recommend 9 people even though it has 12 seats. Probably liability issue, best for seadoo to recommend less
@@cheapestvapesupplies1391 understood. Thanks for the info. I just reserved the 21ft with 170.
Try and flip that over when you get something stuck in the impeller.
Glad I watched this, it’s a BIG nope 👎🏼 for me.
As opposed to a small boat or taking out a prop or lower unit?
@@DA2EXY You got me.
Getting weeds/grass stuck in my SeaDoo intake is the only thing I don't like about it, because it causes bad cavitation until you clear it. And that requires shutting down, jumping in the water and, and clearing it by hand. What is the process for the SeaDoo Switch? Hopefully they've addressed this concern, because it looks like a fun product.
@@paulrybarczyk5013 In the big 23 foot Yamaha jet boat it has a big plug over the top of the jet pump. You can pull that big plug out and clear any blockage. The Yamaha jet boat uses the same engine as their jet skis , the boat I drove had twin 160 horsepower
Please, create a foiling kit.... 🙏👍😊
Can this one be used on the sea?
Deep ocean, no. Along the coast, yes. The power to weight ratio is bad for big waves in the ocean. The motor can and will burn out in deep ocean. I’ve had it burn out in the lake during a storm.
Does it require captains license?
Depends on what state and city you live. It varies.
Boat looks great, but where is the ladder?
I saw in another video where it slides out of the back where the door is.
Built into the rear of the starboard pontoon.
How about saltwater. Can engines last
Closed loop cooling
How about the ocean
Same length of a Modern Seadoo PWC ...
Just not sold on the handle bars on a boat. Seems they copy from sealver boats idea just doesn't work for me on this. Otherwise no complaints.
It’s a seadoo . How do you think they can bring a like boat to the market so cheap ? By basing it off a jet ski . It has cruise control . Plus the left side grip has the break. So it’s significantly easier to operate than a steering wheel and a separate throttle. So go buy one . You no you want it .
Ordered a week ago 21 f 230hp sport for 50$k
Good video. Some advice: i don't want to watch someone chewing gum with their mouth open, i'd raise your camera overhead for those action shots looking back.
Completely agree- how embarrassing- my bad!
Like it but,.....
I'd like to see wheel steering and a
swim platform that slides out of a pocket on the transom. No fun driving a boat for 10 miles having to balance two handles. It's not a wave runner.
I think part of the marketing is the maneuverability of their pontoon. And they can only achieve that maneuverability by having the handlebar and the control lever on each handlebar. I drive a Sea doo Jetski and I am familiar with the maneuverability using the throttle control on the right lever and the breaking and the reverse control of the left lever while turning the handle bar. With a steering wheel you wouldn't be able to achieve in the same maneuverability ln less you tried to incorporate the throttle lever and the brake reverse lever much like you would a paddle shifter on a Porsche
Plastic hull?
I agree? How do you fix a damaged toon. Replace the whole bottom of the boat? What does servicing look like?
@@jeffdavidson2390 it can be plastic welded
The hull is in sections
The Sea-Doo switch is insane it's a just a fantastic vehicle the 230 horsepower sport is amazing I mean it's right there with the scarab boat 285 and that's impressive for a pontoon to do 50 miles an hour on the water that's very impressive there's only one thing I didn't like about this video is that they did it on the Great lakes we have got to be the dirtiest lakes in the world yuck but I am sold the switch sport 18 ft 230 horsepower thank you
The price he quotes is no where near what your gonna pay I just looked at the 21ft 50 grand the real prices start at like 25000 total
Looks like a Lego boat . Fugly
I agree looks cheap and cost a fortune, and is not really made for the fisherman maybe one day hey will keep us in mind with a good price.
The selfie while chewing gum.... 🤢
Sorry!! should of cut that out!! hope you like the new SeaDoo's!
Chew with your mouth closed
Agreed!
Or not at all
Can’t stand people who chew gum that way. Made me cringe every time if would go to him sitting on the boat and you can watch him chew that gum and move it around in his mouth. Disgusting
Close your mouth when chewing gum! Grose
Sorry....
Thank you for the video. Very informative. Just a little note. The gum chewing on the video is not attractive.
I know, I know- been taking a lot of heat for that! my bad- should have been on the editing room floor, thanks for putting up with me!
Chewing with your mouth open is disgusting on camera
If you think that's disgusting, maybe RUclips isnt for you.
@@korndawggy1801 Of course You Tube is for me. What does that have to do with anything
dude, you need to close your mouth when you chew.
Looks really cheap.
lol why do your license plates say home of 10,000 lakes? we have 15k + here in wisconsin 😂🤙🏻
