That's what I'm seeing as well, but a portion of that is inflation. There's always the MR2 Spyder, BMW Z3, MX-5, and Boxter...and Alfa Romeo 4C... okay the last one is same price. For me, an older Elise is way way too close to the price of a new C8 Corvette...meaning-- why would pay 50-60k for an Elise (albeit a brilliant car) when you can get a C8 for a few more bottle caps... Doesn't make sense. I see a lot of used inventory at high prices, but I don't see it moving quickly. I think everyone is hopping on the band wagon of "oh my old car is worth a lot more, so I'll put it for sale at big price." Supply/Demand will be the ultimate judge. Love the Elise, though. Nope. not unless its been K swapped with a turbo., Theyre too slow and too expensive now. Nearly $50k starting price for any decent one and $40k+ for the rest in high mileage not so good shape and all sub 100whp for those ones that are that cheap! Even if it were 1000lbs it would get whooped by a 1997 c5 vette in power to weight ratio lol
One thing it isn't is a supercar, an upholstered kart maybe. But when you think the English guy schmee was driving his Ford GT in the U.S & lots of people thought it was a Ferrari.
Nah, the Corvette remains the best bargain performance sports car you can buy. A Z06 Corvette can be had for around $40k and it will fit 2 full size adults with luggage or a couple sets of golf clubs, get close to 30mpg on the highway, and keep up or run ahead of the Lotus on most tracks.
I noticed you weren't moving your neck much at the start of the video. I thought you were still having problems since the accident months ago. Hopefully you are all healed from that by now.
Lotus looks like the kind of car that you need to drive a regular car around the area that you're thinking about driving your lotus in a few times to check for potholes and bumps in the road. I bet that thing scratches the bottom of the ground and bottoms out so fucking easily. A speed bump could ruin your day in a car like that. but once you know your route it's probably closer to driving a 4 wheel motorcycle. Just super crazy sporty and fun
Definitely get yourself a Lotus, but not as a daily driver. It isn't meant for that, and you would be miserable. It's typically a 4th or 5th car, not a daily.
can some 1 tell me were is 30k?? everyone say that but tos car go up to 40-50k wayy overprice compare to c7 corvette ,supra and some 50k cars that is way bettler and faster
250 bhp would be would be fun. The loose front grill and engine bay cover are not from the factory. My Elise is 12 years old and never had any of those problems. These cars were hand made over three days. Extruded aluminum, epoxy bonded frame. These cars really are hot.

It's like saying you prefer a steel plate to kevlar or whatever advanced material there is that is lighter than steel but stronger than steel. Please don't use the word flimsy on a Lotus ever again.
Nope. not unless its been K swapped with a turbo., Theyre too slow and too expensive now.
Great little car, just the standard Lotus issues,
Lots of Problems Usually Serious, Oh & I'd be all over that big stocky leg, Rj in Oz
British + Rental= QUALITY
Prove me wrong!!!!!
This is a beautiful little car in a beautiful color! Great video too!
Thanks Alexandre!
ive always liked these, i believe i have a couple hot wheels from when i was little of a slightly older model. they are really unique looking imo.
I’ve always wanted an Elise! But my mind says Evora 😂
Evora for when you get too old to get in and out. In the meantime S2 Elise is what I drive but an S3 Exige is next.
This would definitely be my sports car if I ever got one as a second car.
But you’ll never get the looks as you do with an Elise
@@definingimage Probably true, but I'll take the higher performance over attention I don't care about.
Just checked here in 2024, they are selling for $40k+. Holding value
04:00 - wait, so you mean my 10 day road trip with SWMBO wasn't even possible? :D
You can tell just by watching Elliott's face that he likes driving the Lotus. Sorry, but a Lotus Elise is not a Supercar but it is super light.
Where in the world can you buy one for 30k? 40 to 50 in Florida.
USA: Lotus is not a very well known brand.
Rest of the WORLD: >:[
Looks like a micro machines version of a Ferrari
Haha, it does!
My S2 doesn't sqeak or rattle, or have parts falling off. That is definitely a rental thing. They haven't looked after it properly.
revelations!
250 bhp would be would be fun. The loose front grill and engine bay cover are not from the factory. My Elise is 12 years old and never had any of those problems. These cars were hand made over three days. Extruded aluminum, epoxy bonded frame. These cars really are hot.
I loved the car despite the loose body panels!
That was a nice video thanks. One thing you forgot to mention, what does it cost to rent something like this from Toro? Let your viewers know. Best wishes
Ah, good call! I can’t believe I missed that. 🤦🏻♂️
@@ElliottAlvis you said you missed telling us that, and your response did not answer either?!
You're comparing a roadster with a Camry engine and a fancy body kit to Ferraris..... come on man.
This theme music makes me yearn for Mike, Jay, and Mr Plinkett
