The US does not have the infrastucture for the electric market
True and apparently people don’t want to pay for these combustion engines
THANK YOU!!!!! I said this when they said they want all EV by 2030 It's not gonna work
Nobody does
Nowhere in the world can support full electrification and they know it. Another attempt to control the masses, that's all.
@@diegoharo7943no, people want to pay for ICE vehicles. What they don’t want is to pay these inflated prices.
From a Californian - you're right. It's asinine what our politicians are doing out here.
This is not about the environment at all
@@user-ye8jj4zw1yWell that and they top out at dirt $&it.
Never was. $$$$$. Always.
Yup, it's all about Al Gore and all his deep pockets buddies milking our citizens pockets
I figured they were in trouble after Stellantis laid off 400 engineering employees Friday. Sad. Here we go.
Fake news Chrysler never had engineers no one can build that bad by planning a vehicle
When Siemens took over our part of Westinghouse the first thing they did was to fire the engineers, salesforce, and the group that refurbished circuit breakers. Then they sold off the calibration laboratory. Then they told us that they would not be upgrading our calibration equipment to the new ISO standards. Then they took us out of the phone book and we became a body shop.
I bailed out at the end of 1999.
Five years later the last five techs went to the Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility and that was the end of that.
The company I went to took all of the business Siemens didn't want.
Dodge has been done ever since Fiat bought them out of bankruptcy. Engineering and quality have gone right down the sewer.
@cooperparts you do know they hire college kids and call them engineers. They are just kids drawing concepts. 400 isn't thst big of a number considering that's the way they want to start their engineers..young and dumb.
Dodge has got some ball$ to sell a ram for $125.000. I would never, ever pay such sum of money a cheap brand with known quality manufacturing issues.
😂 Lmao but its a HEMI. Lol they get great mileage here in SoCal.
From 2009 and up you will find a good bit of the issues in the past have mostly been resolved, and they are just like any other car take care of them they last, and just like any car they can have issues off the line. just my two cents
Just don’t sell cars to California just don’t send no truck to California. I see how long they last.
Exactly what I’ve been saying, either they are lying or their main market is in California.
@@diegoharo7943 They probably know what is coming down the pipe than we do
Do you think that would hurt California lol ~ the richest state dropping off would kill them completely. Repair is cheaper than over paying outrageous unrealistic prices. These people new way ahead that paying vehicles at pre pandemic levels already had repos. They are asking for money we don’t have.
As of 3/24/24 gas is over $5 a gal here in Cali . This is the reason why their pushing full electric by 2032
@@Simba365 I mean electric cars and hybrids probably will eventually replace ice vehicles but let’s not ignore that currently their 23 models are not selling and their EVs haven’t hit dealerships yet
as a professional auto mechanic. I shed no tears for the engineers. they made our lives hell working on their sht.
They are unnecessarily overcomplicated disasters that I repair for other people, and not for cheap. Theres no way in hell that I would want to start out today in automotive repair, Ive been doing that for 52 years, the year before Chrysler introduced their first electronic ignition system starting everyone down the road to far too much electronics and the inevitable problems surrounding that.
The kids graduating from Lincoln Tech today are nowhere close to knowing what is necessary to repair new vehicles I have no idea what shops would employ them.
My own vehicles are all over 40 years old including my daily driver....because I know better.
Vehicles equipped with the Fiat/Stellantis/Chrysler Pentastar V-6 are among the worst out there.

I am a recently retired professional mechanic. 37 years. I totally agree with you, to a point. The problem started when they began putting computers in cars/trucks. Then came front wheel drive, overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, cylinder deactivation systems, and a whole bunch more garbage. Cars from the '60s are a joy to work on. The engineering was perfect (not necessarily the quality, but the assembly line workers were responsible for that) In the '70s the craziness started, they still had wonderful basic designs, but the literally covered them up in emissions trash. I am a lifelong hot rodder and drag racer. My favorite engine of all time is the first generation small block Chevy. But Chrysler and Ford also made really good engines back then. And they weren't all V8s. The Chrysler slant six was an amazing engine. Modern engines are absolute RUBBISH. I retired early because I could no longer deal with working on them. Instead of a wrench, my most used tool was a scan tool. I am a vintage American car guy through and through.
@@donreinke5863 UTI is the same way. A total scam. My son in law threw away $35,000 to that place. I have 5 cars. Every single one of them is carbureted.
I agree, cars are made too complicated. Keep it simple, reliable safe and affordable.
Stellantis created the perfect storm… over priced cars, turning their backs on enthusiasts/consumers and pushing EV’s too abruptly. They really should have tried to clean up the hemi engine to be more compliant and pushed hybrids before trying to go full EV. If ford and Chevy can give a cleaner v8, so can stellantis. The problem is they tried to jump ahead of the EV push to align themselves with California.
This is a good reminder that Stellantis is a European company and doesn't understand the US. In Europe they are used to the government just telling them how it is and everyone getting on board. Not so much in the US.
But..no one is buying electric, inventory is stacking up and the bottom fell out of the used EV market.
Theyre screwed.
While I understand that EVs are a current talking point. This issue with pricing is a Stellantis made issue. The corporation is greedy. Consumers are done with paying HUGE markups on vehicles.
Exactly! Stelantis should’ve prioritized hybridization first then made the switch to complete EV
@@robertmcgee3616 And then crash completely. No one wants electric junk vehicles.. new ones are stacking up unsold on dealers lots and resale values are in the tank.
There was a video on You tube of a guy who bought an electric Porsche last year for 118k euros and a year later no one will even give him 60k for it. Anyone buying one deserves to be screwed.

I’m in SoCal and there is no way that the electric grid here can handle more EV’s. Dealerships here have too much EV inventory that is not moving. Insurance is very high on EV’s and public charging is extremely limited.

I've seen the videos - public charging is crap and it's not going to get any better. What a bunch of lemmings.
Message to those who really like the Dodge EV
just remember..
1)All the EVs top speed is no more than 130s MPH meaning none of those EVs cannot outrun a hellcat ,RT or Scat Pack long distance.
2)Unless you lease a Dodge EV you are going to spend at least around 17,000 every 5-7 years just on maintenance because the battery last about 5 yrs and cost about 17,000 just to replace. Cheaper to just buy a Hellcat.
3) trying to push that ev to get the same sense of "fun" from the ice models just means more frequent trips to the charging station, which means you probably will majority of the time, not be driving it like its a "charger" at all, therefore, its already underwhelming top speed is almost irrelevant. More acceleration than top speed they say. "you'll never be going top speed anyway" they say. Not only do i disagree with those statements i just listed, i've lost all incentive to think i'm even going to try going very fast given the inefficiency of it being a several ton, heavy as hell ev.
Wrong again,
The Nio EP9 will beat brakes of any Hellcat or Demon....

Lucky for me that the new EV factory cut down all the woods so I can admire the new vehicles from my front door! I can taste the diesel hauling parts and hear the bulldozers, and the concrete dust is quite decorative on my old Dodge. Thank you to all who know that this will save us. It all works quite well. Looking forward to the buzz of the lines when they come online. Good to know that there will be jobs coming? I may need one since my business has been destroyed. I worked with endangered species. Now I can try to get a factory assembly line job.
They should’ve just did what ford did make a couple of evs to satisfy the governments gas gouging score and then keep making the hellcat
Exactly!!!!!
That’s not going to be Ford’s future neither though as long as the government has anything to say about it since they are pushing for the same Cali regulations.
The Hellcat is an absolute nightmare, both from an engineering and quality standpoint.
The automotive industry is always volatile.

Stellantis is forcing the EV junk on buyers by only making EV's which buyers scorn !
No, but they're willing to drink the kool-aid like it taste good. Great video. Problem will only worsen if we experience the next big real estate downturn soon. When that happens then impound lots will be full of large fancy pick up trucks and everything else downstream
And people with these cars now or any other car will be so upside down in loan it's ridiculous!!!! Why isn't that mentioned????
California after 2030 wants all new autos sold in that state to be electric while they currently don't have enough electricity to keep the air conditioning on in the summer. Think they might be putting the cart in front of the horse. Currently there hasn't been anything on the table in regards to upgrading the electrical infrastructure, be generating more electricity, development of charging stations or developing safe fire surpression systems. We all know there will be many fires and/or explosions with these EV's. Plus who will be able to afford to buy an EV. By 2030 there may not be many people living in California other than illegal immigrants and the homeless
Maybe these dealerships are playing 2 games. 1. We hold the cars at high prices so no one buys them and show dodge that we don’t have room for Electric vehicles and that they aren’t wanted and 2. If someone buys the car at that price at least we make a profit.
Dodge needs a vehicle regular ppl want. Ever since the minivan died they’ve been struggling to find a vehicle the average person wants.
There’s a 2023 WB scat at a dealership in Concord NC that’s listed at 60k
3000 layoffs would equal 7.5% (and more if 3600). I live in Cali and it’s the worst state ever to live in. EV’s will never rule the road here so that I’m not worried about. I’d like them to fix the state first and foremost. Oh, and we don’t have charge stations everywhere, in fact what we do have are always empty.

Frankly, I'd like to hear from a Stellantis Official regarding the reason for these potential layoffs. The pathway taken by Stellantis isn't feasible. They should've phased in EV's like other OEM's, instead of the 1 year (2023) switch turn off......

@Knockout 360 Do you think it would be wise financial decision to trade in your 21 dodge charger scatpack that your still currently financing for a better upgrade like hellcat or better scatpack. Or would it just be best to stay where I’m at. Considering you are saying prices will drop ?
What good is a car at "any" price if the manufacturer is not there to fix it under warranty?

The power dollars they are offering now you can't even get depending on where you live. I was told the only power dollars available for scat pack in April where I live is $1000.
