    The prices increased because of the penalties Dodge paid to maintain the V8 production. It’s very expensive to maintain the V8 those days with the emission standards. They have to pay penalties to CAFE and it is reflecting on the car price. People want V8’s, but don’t want to pay the price. That’a why they are going electric. They have no choice

      @Hdeejames Месяц назад +6

      @@MR_DLG because Chevy and Ford don’t have the same strategy than Dodge. They diversified their products. Mostly Dodge cars have big engines (Ram, Charger, Challenger, Durango…)They don’t have the same emission. And I am pretty sure it will come a moment where Chevy and Ford will have to go electric. I am not a fan of electric cars neither. I have a Charger Super Bee and I am so glad I have it. I am not ready to go electric

    Mechanically, The WIDEBODY models have ELECTRIC STEERING while the narrow bodies have hydraulic steering. A lot of people forget that.
    The widebody also necessitates larger/ wider tires and wheels. The price increase is partly due to those factors.
    Widebody models have a lower top speed than narrow body models due to drag.

    • @RARochester
      @RARochester Месяц назад +3

      Drag ?? Both cars have the same engine; the difference being the limiter/governor is set lower on the narrow body because the suspension and skinny tires can’t handle the extra power generated, there’s tons of videos showing the WB’s ahead of the narrow body.

In Southern California, you can't throw a brick without it hitting some random challenger - they're everywhere. I love my car, but it doesn't stand out. By FAR I get more head turning and questions about the station wagon! 17 years of challengers is a long time. And unless you're really into Dodge, one looks the same as the next. It's like Porsche. I have a score that more that 100+ pts higher than when I bought my 392 in 2020 and the rate is almost 3% higher (No lates etc....) I agree. They made decisions based on greed rather than fanbase and they are where they are. That being said, I think the worst thing they did was make it difficult & expensive to mod. The dodge muscle cars have so many other good points about them that if they were more easily modifiable and slightly less expensive they'd still be high in sales. Most guys don't buy sports cars to leave them completely stock. So dodge got whooped in that corner.
    If they covered certain mods under warranty, they'd still have the muscle car market cornered.
    The latest gen challenger is still the best looking muscle car out there... the charger also, which Ford & Chevy have no answer for as sedans go... the widebody charger is the best looking sedan out, period (my opinion).

    The MSRP on Stellantis has been raised 50.4% over the last 5 years which is higher than any other manufacturer. Then the dealerships added more on top of it. Now the manufacturers have dropped to MSRP and lower thinking it’s cheap. No it’s still overpriced because MSRP’s have been raised over the years. Dodge is going to have to have massive incentives to get rid of the remaining inventory because the public is over them.
