I'm glad Matt is back on bass. I remember when he first left, almost 20 years ago. Then he joined CKY back in 2009. He even had two stints with CKY before eventually coming back to All That Remains. Awesome bass lines on this track.
I wouldn't be surprised if all of the music for this song was written by Jason.

Jason Richardson used to be a legendary NBA dunk contest champion when he played for the Golden State Warriors back in the mid 2000s.
@@1977rwHe's a.... Musician. His weapon of choice is a shaped piece of wood with metal woven strings attached.
For real though, just look him up on the yootoobs(with Luke Holland) for his own material. Once you hear some of that, you might be able to pick out his personal flavors in this song. His signature is all over it.
I'd suggest Upside Down and Tendinitis, they're both different than this but they showcase how he plays and writes pretty well. Those are just the first two that came to mind btw, he has a lot of great material.
@@1977rw He's been in the metal scene for awhile now. But he's been known to elevate every band he is in and has a unique sound. He first became I would say "well known" when he tried out for All Shall Perish and became a touring member for a bit in the early 2000s. He then was in Born of Osiris for a bit and wrote arguably their most technical album. He then went to Chelsea Grin and wrote arguably their most technical album. He then went on to just do solo / guest stuff for a bit, which he continues now. And now he is obviously in All That Remains.
I don't typically like this type of music, just came to listen because of Phil being on Timcast. Holy smokes dude, y'all killed it with this song. Those drums man...

His singing in 06 when I seen them for the first time, Phil's live cleans were terrible compared to his screams at the time. Overcome and albums afterwards, he has really grown in both his screaming and singing techniques. If it wasn't for him in 06, I'd have never learned the proper way of projecting my vocals.

Definitely sounds like a modernized not dated version of fall of ideals. Jason incorporates his own sound but still keeping it within that ATR vibe. Really solid. Cant wait for the rest of the record

Agreed definitely gives that same open feeling. I think 1:50-2:10 Is also a callback to the riff that plays in Not Alone before and after it's second chorus. Makes sense considering Oli wrote it.

There was no one else that could have replaced Oli no one ever will. But, Jason's ability and style are perfect for All That Remains. His resume is pretty amazing to, All Shall Perish, Chelsea Grin, Born of Osiris' best album, his solo work... such an inspiration. R.I.P Oli, had the privilege of seeing you live in Toronto at the Sound Academy.

I’ve been teleported back to 2006… like I’m hearing them for the first time again. I remember going through some tragedy in life and feeling healed and whole listening to these guys. In an ugly world, it’s pretty cool when you get to experience those same feelings again, from the same band no less. Thank you for giving that back to me guys. I gotta snag a VIP ticket!

I’ve been listening to everything from No fun at all, 59 times the pain, to Parkway drive, IKTPQ, Slaughter to prevail, pennywise.. from 1994 to 2024 I can honestly say I’m heartbroken that this is the first time I’ve listened to this band. This song takes me back to a time when music was beautiful, it was fresh and original, and even though it feels like it’s from 2006 it could be 2326 and I’d be all for it. ❤❤❤❤

In Nik’s recent interview with them, they said they were carefully not the make this the “Jason Richardson band”, so Jason knew from the get go that they didn’t want him to be overly flashy. Jason is in the band to serve the band, not himself, and that’s the best choice they made. Fresh new take but still ATR’s iconic sound

If it hadnt been for Phil cohosting on Tim Pool as much as he has, im sad to say that i would've missed this genuine Force of Nature as well as all the amazing and inspiring music that he and All That Remains have put out over the years. Fortunately, ive discovered an amazing new (to me) catalog of music that truly gets your heart pumping and your mind engaged. Having watched Phil express his feelings, values, insights and thoughts on many different topics, ive grown to care about the person before i discovered his music, and that makes having an opportunity to enjoy both the older catalog plus the new music even BETTER! 🔥 Rock On, All That Remains! 🙌🔥
