Phil is so awful, he actually want's people to be free and have agency.
Right?! 🤣 What a monster!
Makes you wonder whose Ideals fell
Phil along with Howard Jones are absolutely national treasures
As trite as it sounds, we really do need to learn how to get along better when it comes to political differences. We're stuck here with each other whether we like it or not.
The left need to learn to stop being authoritarian fuck bags. Everything was fine until they went fucking insane. The only reason we have these problems is the left have gone into full blown Nazi territory
And so many people fail to realize that but I still have hope for us as humans. I see more and more conversations like this more and more and maybe we will get to a place where it's possible across the board. So many ignorant people out there.
One side gets banned and censored for “wrong think” and the other side declares themselves “the goodguys” for doing it
@@a.d.4536 yeah it's kind of hard to get along with scumbags who openly hate you bc they were told to.
Phil is an extremely intelligent guy, spend a little time listening to what he actually has to say (not what the media says about him), you will see he is a thoughtful free thinker with a lot of common sense. 💯👍😊
There’s a lot more people than others realize that are this way. It’s pretty sick, really 🤘🏻
All that remains and BFMV and avenged sevenfold were the bands that got me into metalcore
The reason why his politics didn't destroy his music career is because he never caved to the mob. Much like Joe Escalante in that regard. Phil never apologized for his beliefs. In fact, it was his strong and resolute conviction that encouraged people to get behind him. It's crazy to me how much times have changed. Punk rock used to be anti establishment, anti conformity, etc. Nowadays, by its very definition, there is nothing more punk rock than to stand up for your conservative or libertarian views. Democrats these days don't believe in shit except full governmental subservience and most Republicans are spineless. Then there are those of us who are capable of independent thought and don't give a single fuck about what people think. Or, even more importantly, how other people feel. Facts don't give a fuck about your feelings.
Beautifully said, friend.
Respectfully, I don’t think being conservative equates anti-establishment. You might make some case for libertarian. I’m also not thoroughly understanding what you mean by not giving a shit what other think or their feelings. I guess it’s my perspective that world lacks a lot of empathy and concern for others. I hope I’m not misinterpreting what you’re saying, but my personal belief is that we should actually take some time to listen and understand each other and actually give a fuck about other people’s feelings or how what we do affects others. IMO, it’s a strength when you are able to accept shortcomings, have humility, be open to being wrong, and growing from that.
@@anoceanbetweenus89lulbertarians just nominated a gay trans the kids political zealot who wants people like me to be stomped out of existence. No we are not succumbing to these tyrants, right wing or get away from me at this point, I won’t associate with awful humans
@@anoceanbetweenus89 Being Conservative in today's society, yes. To a degree. But where conservatism is synonymous with Republican politics, not so much. My statement wasn't so much in defense of self serving, antipathy towards others as it was an attack on the entitlement of most Americans these days. Those who would sooner cancel dissenting voices instead of inviting intelligent debate, are deserving of the company they keep. 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you so much for this. All power to such conversations. Art should be fully independent of politics always.
Phil is a fucking Apex Example of being oneself in the face off adversity.
Many regards from India.
At this point, I pretty much only watch Timcast IRL episodes when Phil is on
I absolutely love that Phil and I are both New England boy's!! Him being from Chicopee Massachusetts and me being only 20 minutes away from him here in Connecticut!! That's awesome!!
I remember Ron Paul!! My friends that loved weed also loved him 😀 when they were high they would start talking about him and I wouldn't pay much attention because it was politics.
Still trying to find the band and the song Finn mentions at 4:14, anyone know of it?
EDIT: Found it! (ruclips.net/video/lrEcT_6xw5o/видео.html)
1:14 “I separate All That Remains from myself.”
That is EXACTLY why. One mistake Phil Labonte has NEVER made is where he gets so used to being the face of the band that he overshadows everyone else in the band and makes them think and act like him in order to function professionally. In the instance where he was interviewed by Loudwire for the Fact or Fiction series, he introduced himself as “Phil from All That Remains” instead of his full name. That goes to show how strong his team mentality is and how reluctant he is to take credit for the bands achievements. Ever since the early 2000s he’s been that way. Just with the way the music videos are produced shows that he tries to include all the members of the band on camera absolutely shredding at some point in each one. That’s helped him from becoming someone who’s viewed as a right wing conspiracy theorist and instead he’s viewed as an outsider who may go against the culture but is not someone who is mean or bigoted. Absolute GOD TIER response.
I love this conversation. Krishna core fascinates me, but also confuses me. Like 108 is a killer band, but they’re lyrics can come off as quite hateful at times (possibly a misunderstanding on my part) which seems out of line with Hare Krishna or Hinduism. Also, Shadowsfall has a lot of lyrics with Hindu or Buddhist background, but I never realized it until now. Was Brian Fair in the krishna core movement?
Phil is just an awesome humble guy. He's not loud and obnoxious, which are traits people erroneously associate with conservatives and libertarians.
Lol liberals are just as loud and obnoxious, you kidding me
I think that’s what makes a difference. He isn’t ashamed of his beliefs and values, but he’s not shoving in people’s faces or trying to force beliefs upon others. He seems like a guy that open to being wrong and is empathetic to other people. He’s accepting of other people’s beliefs outside of his own.
Fuck, they cut the video at the most interesting part! (the pro-life argument from the left)
He's right, authoritarianism exists on both extremes, policing speech is definitely not as bad as say 1/6 but it's important to acknowledge the toxicity on the left with this shit
@Walter Gutierrez 👈100%
The argument has always been left/right (socialism/capitalism) when the battle has always been north/south (authoritarian/libertarian)
J6 was nothing lmao
I’m straight edge and pro-life I can back that up!
Anyone think Fall of Ideals is their worst album?
No
OMG!!! How Lame PHIL!!! Your first what... 3-4 albums said FORMALLY of Shadows Fall. Unfortunately not everyone has Shadows Fall DEMO TAPES!! Your ass got bounced quick. MORTAL PUNISHMENT was better than anything All That Remains ever did.
Says the guy sitting in his moms basement.
Its not that serious bro lol
I might agree that I don't like the music if I was familiar. One thing is certain, they have more fans than you or I combined. He's making a living at it.
Sounds like jealousy to me.
Ya sound a bit angry chief…
