The 2024 Dodge Charger Is Everything We Expected And More!

- Dodge is betting BIG on big sedans, big 2-door coupes, and BIG EVs. Yep, all that is happening in one model name: the all-new 2024 and 2025 Dodge Charger. (With some asterisks) Starting THIS YEAR we're getting the new Charger as a 100% full electric muscle car with nearly 700 horsepower and 2-doors (plus a hatchback, which is cool). Then a few months later we're getting a gas powered Charger featuring, you guessed it, the 3.0L hurricane inline 6 twin turbo engine making a whopping 550 horsepower! Next to arrive is the 4-door 2025 Charger (yep, the Dodge Challenger is dead, so no 2025 Challenger here) and that looks to be available in both gas and EV versions. Then finally there'll be a bonkers Banshee version of the Charger after that making an undisclosed amount of power and featuring a new 800V battery platform. Will it scream like a banshee? Yep, they will all get the loud external "exhaust" generator that Dodge previewed before. Pricing? You can bet it's more than a 2023 Charger, but we'll know more on that when they get closer.

You might be wondering: what do you mean we haven't seen the 4-door? Well, those pictures were released after we filmed the video but I wanted to include them so you could see what it looks like. We'll have more on the 4-door soon. It has the same wheelbase but may be slightly longer.
Nice, more EVs that are beyond the price reach of most American consumers. Just what we all need.
Said every poor person ever
Mitsubishi no longer wants to help them market small cars so they continue to offer the only thing they are capable of doing: large barges. He would have to be on the verge of bankruptcy to bring back Horizons & K-car style car. But Fiat is with them ...for the better?
I hope the base model EV starts at $100K and they fill-up all dealerships with these cars. Maybe offer 30-year loans.
Exactly...another EV LOL that nobody wants or can’t afford
Aren't the outgoing models already sky high and the upper trims likely to have markups?
Challenger in the front, charger in the back...got it.
Have you ever seen a '69 Charger ?
@@cabaneencac5168 Yes, and they look a lot better than this.
A 206.6" long 2 door? It's the return of the personal luxury coupe!
I was thinking the same thing LOL
"Introducing the 2025 Chrysler Cordoba EV, with soft Corinthian Leather"
A late model Camry is 196 inches...for perspective.
I don't get why it needs to be so big especially if it is an EV
Expect it to be very difficult to drive and park, 80 inches wide is awful. Also expect a price tag of 60k-80k
The 4 door is shown in the reveal video Dodge made.
“Isle of man vibes” what a unique reference I definitely didn’t have to look up 😂
I did not get it .
The flag I think
Finally! Coupe for me!! A BIG electric coupe I have been waiting years for something like this!!! Thank you Dodge. I’ve owned many Dodges including Chargers and Darts from the 70s, 2-doors
There are just those who have only known 4 doors who praise them . Finally a 2 door...even if it's too big.
TFL was given access to the 4 door car. It wasn’t that much different. Same wheelbase and everything.
A 207" coupe is ridiculous, and I love it!
If, and when they ever do another fast and the furious movie, this car will be the star of the show
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they already had one parked outside of Dom’s house in the last one.
6000 lbs for a coupe is insane
Does seem crazy high, the Tesla Model S Plaid is about 4,800 lbs.
Love that it's a hatch/fastback. That size is bonkers. Although part of me seeing the size wants to see them bring back the Magnum.......
Not a Dodge fan but I can appreciate keeping a coupe in the lineup when they’re clearly not that popular anymore.
Definitely going to wait for the inline six to come out
Yessir need that 4 door
Same here
Hopefully it’s not locked to up to 137 mph like the electric versions are.
Also hope that down the line dodge got a SRT Inline 6 in mind. 700hp AWD would be good! 😊
Carscoops has a photo of the 4 dr and it's essentially the coupe with additional doors. Looks better just because the coupe seems to be too stretched out. It's interesting Dodge is offering ICE and EV variants but the inline-sixes should have been first to launch imo.
We got that info as this video was going up, we'll have more on that soon
Both two- and four-door body styles ride on the same 121-inch (3,074 mm) wheelbase
I still think they panicked and realized they had to have an ICE version much later than we’ll ever know. They were all in on electric but then the sales of EVs seemed to have noticeably stalled. I think they realized they’d messed up.
''coupe seems too stretched out'' ? 2 doors having almost disappeared, it seems that people find them odd. I have never digested that 4 doors are considered ''sport'' and proportions of this coupe do not appear strange to me.
As someone in their late 20’s.
This car looks badass.
It badass but I just don’t feel compelled to buy one. 6000lbs for the EV? Insane considering a Plaid is 1000lbs less with more range, better performance, more cargo space, and still looks sleek. I dig the new look but the specs are sorta underwhelming. Especially because expect the EVs to start at 60K.
The gas versions will probably cost at the minimum 45K which is absurd even if their are no direct competitors for it. Overall it’s idk
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 Just my preference but I don’t really care for Tesla’s design. Looks too much like a bug. Granted I haven’t had the opportunity to drive an EV before much less a Tesla. Who knows what the next generation of EV’s are in store. Though i couldn’t afford either regardless XD
Chrysler needs a version of the Coupe called the Cordoba - with a plush interior of rich Corinthian leather.... and an AI version of Ricardo Montebon....
There's not gonna be a whole lot of people That's gonna get that, But I thought it was funny.
I had a few Cordoba's in the 1990's...Owned a loaded 1975 and a base 1977 one had the leather one was vinyl..The leather was the nicest leather I seen, soft etc..I worked at a new exotic car dealer with lots of new Mercedes and BMW and then a tech at Lexus/Toyota dealer and the Corinthian leather in my 1975 was better than new car leather of those new luxury cars.Even the other salesmen at the time said the same thing,so not just me...The 75 was triple black with a high performance big block 400 4bbl and it moved, very fun car for a 21 year old! The girls did love it!
It's coming, it's gonna be called the Chrysler Lebaron EVC
I want after-market mods to make the exhaust sound like a TIE fighter.
What exhaust?🙁
That would be hilarious to hear that from someone zooming by 😂. Almost worth the price of admission if possible
Thats honestly what it shouldve been, rather than sounding like what it isnt.
Admittedly, this looks cool; it would be interesting to try an electric muscle car. But does it really need to be this big? IMO, it is too long and too wide, just makes it harder to park, makes it too heavy and it will use more energy that way. On the other hand, I LOVE the hatch. Makes it super practical. I just think 4-door version is the way to go.
The battery probably has to be huge so the car has to be too
@@larrysutton925 Good point!
5900 POUNDS!!!? 😫
My 1975, 500 cubic Cadillac limousine was 5600 pounds. 😅😮
Heavier than a Ram 1500
Alex is saying in another video that's a mistake. It's somewhere above 4000 pounds.
Well, i guess “Charger” is a pretty fitting name.😂
That shifter is a throwback to the "pistol-grip" shifter Dodge had in the '70s.
The six pack name is a throw back to the 440 6 pack. I like that way more than slant six
Based on those images, I don't know about the coupe. It's proportions are really ungainly but the 4 door is going to sell like Girl Scout Cookies at a smokeshop.
Very disappointed at the size & weight of this new Charger. I love the classic styling of the current Challenger, but I don't want to drive a coupe that's as large as full-size sedans!
You trippin
Hope CDJR deallers have lots of extra lot room for all these cars to put beside all the Last Call and Rams that are not selling. lol
Will the standard output hurricane be the base engine or are they going to continue with the pentastar?
Isnt that the 4 door at 11:54?
This is the nimble two door ev sports car I've been waiting for.
Dodges are not nimble, LOL.
Indeed, 5800lbs is very nimble. Over a thousand lbs more than a Tesla Model S while getting much worse range. Dodge loves building fat cars.
Nibble 😂😂😂😂, Dodge has never been nibble. What they alway been heavy and go on a straight line. That car is a pig at 5900 lb.
How do we remove the battery packs when we get to the track
Only need One
love the looks. i prefer this one
I just was at my local Dodge Dealer which still has the 2023 challengers & chargers on the floor that had priced from $69,000 to high $89.000 I can only imagine a monthly note on the price here, Lord only knows what an electric race car would cost my question is who would be able to afford the the dam car.
the electric will be expensive for the first 6-9 months then it will have a large price drop once the early adopters get theirs. There is a $7500 tax credit for vehicles under $50k so we might see the base model slip under that. The Tesla model 3 performance is $53k and i don't think dodge wants to be too high a price premium over that at the worst case
The car is way cooler in person than in the pictures. The front wing is a sick concept.
I will wait to see one in person
we did see the i6 charger in the video they put out and the grille is the same size opening as the ev r wing opening and a different hood that sits flat no slanted down front edge with a hood bulge with a air intake with six pack lettering
Really excited for the new charger really ready for the six pack gas versions
But all I can think 🤔 is that this reminds me of the late 90s Pontiac Grand Prix with the 2 and 4 door options
I like the looks especially the back half.
I like how RAM did the hybrid where the gas engine just charges the battery to get a higher MPG
Tfl car has video of the 4 door version
Hopefully, the CDJR dealerships don’t screw this over and add $20k markups
The track record shows they will mess this up😢
Should do a series hybrid as well. Keep the rear motor from the EV and toss a small combustion motor up front and do a smaller battery pack.
Hopefully it looks better in person than on paper!
glad you like it, you can keep it
How much is the battery 🔋 to this again ?
Already released images of the 4 door version. Basically identical to the 2-door except they made minor adjustments to how the doors fit in the almost identical frame/roofline. It’s also still a hatchback
Nice. I didn’t wanna have to buy a Tesla. Having my 68 and then an EV that’s also a charger to run errands is a win-win for me and makes it easier to have the gas guzzler.
really curious what the price is the base hurricane model. guessing its going to get a huge price bump over the old model
Like the rear of the 2-door a bit more than I like the front. I really like that it's essentially a large coupe/sedan.
Yes, a large stylish coupe has been missing in the market. This one looks great from every angle, the hatch is a big plus. Make mine a SlantSixPak !
Retro at its best! When every vehicles have the same drivetrain just like using the old 318 V8 in the 1960s. Can you imagine from sedan to van having the same underpinning only body shape will be different? Just like an RC car. just swap out the body in your garage when you need a van to go camping.
What are the thoughts on the longevity of these super high strung engines? This kind of output was previously reserved for such low volume engines that were super expensive to repair, and needed repairs often.
Honestly, we just don’t know there is nothing technically impossible about the power levels, and as long as they are engineered properly, I don’t see a longevity issue. But we won’t really know for about 10 years.
How much for the H.O. ICE 2dr coupe ?
The '70 Charger is one of my favorite cars of all time. I've never liked the current Charger. Dodge has really hit it out of the park with this one. However, it seems insane not to have a V8 in the gas model. Gr8 vid as usual. 🚙 🇺🇸 🔌 ⚡
Needs a longer trunk to look more late 60’s.
I’ll be getting one the gas engine versions. Probably.
Twin turbo awd, ok you have my attention
Wonder if it has switchable rwd like bmw does with their M3/M4.
Back hatch looks Barracuda.
WOW it's as big as the original😮
Haven't seen a coupe door that long since the 'ol Cordoba. Looking forward to the tech being put in a Durango or equivalent.
my dad had a cordoba..freaking turd
LMAO! I'm real fast... at getting to my next 3 hour charging station! lmfao!!! Pee pole are sofa king stew pad!
Can’t wait for the first Hellcat swap video!
It's a hatch?!? So, if they square out the back more, is that going to be the revived Magnum?
My dealer already called me saying my name is already on his list to call lolol
dang that's good looking. And those 305/325 are just ridiculous. The Camero ZL1 only gets 285/305.
The Trekkie in me sees a Klingon reference in that logo.
mmm like a box with 2 doors, highway police will love it
Gotta give Stellantis credit for the attempt, here. I like the classic Chrysler styling and design. It sure is big, alright. EVs are totally resetting the bar for mass! I can't say that I think this car makes a hell of a lot of sense, but I feel that way about most modern vehicles. It will be interesting to see how it sells.
It will be a train wreck to see how it doesn't sell!
Alex, The best news of the day is that these hideous monstrosities will NOT besmirch the sainted Slant 6 😇name.
Monstrosities? Someone as tall as you should be celebrating a new huge supersized vehicle like this one
I just hope the seats sit lower than the current generation Charger and Challenger. As someone with a long torso, I absolutely hate the seating position in the 2020 Charger my brother has and I can't even see out or comfortably sit in a Challenger.
The front of the car looks soft, not a fan compared to the outgoing model
These are base model cars. I will reserve my opinion till the top ends drop.
“Charger” is an irresistible name for an EV. Can’t really blame Dodge for using it for the 2-door, as well.
hopefully it will look better live, they will sell a few but i don't think it will be a hit
I'm curious to see what the range is given the weight and thicc tires
Probably 280-300 miles with 100kW battery
Unfortunately no General Lee EV version
Wonder how long it will take till someone bolts on a huge Datona sized wing.
Keeping my eye on this but not as interested as when it was first announced. The weight is insane with pretty poor efficiency it seems. Id have to get into the scat pack version to be faster than my current boosted model 3. Im sure that will be considerably more expensive.
Dodge screwed the pooch by calling the 4 door version a "Charger" and not a Coronet.
That's it, that's what this car reminds me of, especially the 4 door. Overall, this car let's me know Chrysler Corporation is still alive somewhere in auburn hills.
Im sold, ill trade in for a gas one with AWD but I hope they come out with a RWD manual transmission model.
Can I buy a rolling chassis?
I think it looks great! First EV I'm actually excited for visually.
I dont know if this makes the Charger vs Challenger more or less confusing....
Is the Grand Cherokee ever going to get this engine??
Framless windows, AWD and a hatch? It's like dodge finally listened! I'll miss gas Motors but it's nice to know I won't lose having a fast car.
Please bring a PHEV like the new Ramcharger!
I wonder what the Turbo I6 version will weigh...
Hopefully a thousand lbs less, at least.
Probably 1500 pounds less
My guess is that it will probably be around the same curb weight as the existing charger, so right around 4000 pounds
@@AAutoBuyersGuidea hope and guess would be.
Rwd S.O. and H.O. 4000-4100lbs
AWD S.O. and H.O. 4300-4400lbs
(Guessing but It'd probably be a bit lore realistic on think the awd model maybe closer to 4500lbs but hopefully that's not true).
4500 is too high, this platform was designed to be lighter than the one it replaces and the I6 is lighter than teh 5.7.
I really wish they would have put the Scallop in the door though, I think the car would look a lot better. And they're probably gonna wish they went hybrid it's the only thing selling right now. It's the prettiest electric car out there which is not saying much. But this car actually is very pretty and I like the hatchback. And I love me some big ass car.
Got to tfl for 4 door charger
I'd have called the EV model Charger and then slightly change the headlights and tail lights for thw gas model and call that one the Challenger.
Styling looks amazing.. Don't know whey they decided to kill the Challenger name.. would have been easier than having to say Charger 2 door or 4 door.. the name would have told you.
Sad to see the v8 Go.. they make an amazing sound. But inline 6's can too if a good exhaust system is put on them.. think Supra, or BMW.. they can sound amazing. Power output seems great.. reliability??? a who knows.. the Hemi was not exactly amazing in that area either. The inline 6 should be easier to work on.. more room on the sides.
I also hope they do the 4 door with a hatch.. would make it a great looking, roomy and practical car.. nice combo. The long wheelbase should have it ride really nice too.
I love the big old sedans..
The new Logo.. well.. I had a car with that logo. so they did bring back some history.. not sure most people today will make the connection though.
Four - Thousand - Pounds. Should be called the "Dodge Porker".
It's an attractive car. I think that's the most important part. Most ppl don't need super fast
I like the cars but the positive depends on the cost$, range and charging speed.
What does it sound like?
Does it make any sound?
It will never sound as good as a hemi!
Tfl has the 4 door version on their channel. It looks much better than the 2 door version.
give us a hybrid viper dodge :(
your own pictures shows the 4 door in Orange
The Dodge with a charger
I'd go for a four door with the inline six.
@10:29 Now i can see why Chrysler /Dodge was clearing out their 2015-2023 Charger , Challenger, and Chrysler 300 interior parts bin
Assembly plant? Brampton?
You betcha, eh?
Keep it
