Important to remember that at the end of the year a leftover 2023 will be 2 years old. Once titled to you it immediately has a resale value of a 2 year old used car, so it better have a substantial discount to be a smart purchase.

As I've seen it: to clear out old inventory, Dodge dealers here in NY typically dropped $5000 - $10,000 off a car to sell it faster - especially after it sat on the lot for a year.
More recently, that MSRP on the sticker has been inflated in value by more than $10,000 (and in some cases more than $20,000) and that's before you factor in the market adjustment sticker where they add $5,000 - $10,000 for HEMI models and $15,000 or more for Hellcat models.
The average Hellcat around here is $80,000 - $90,000 or $100,000+ for Redeyes... and then you see TRX or Durango Hellcats well above $100,000 (sometimes $130,000)
Demons and Daytona Kings wearing $77,000 markups.
YEAH: they have NO CHOICE WHATSOEVER but to discount them because only a fool would spend that kind of money for these played out - obsolete cars at this point.
INSURANCE is SKY HIGH.
A lot of people finding out the hard way they shouldn't have dropped their stimulus on 2020's "Power Dollars" and brought home a car they never could afford in the long run.

@@LSp8I had a 22 scat without the HK speaker system and now a 23 cat with it. Personally, I don't think the system is worth the upgrade for $1995. I could spend far less and build a better system off amazon.

I'm worried about quality control on these 2023 cars. Hearing horror stories about build quality. Just saw a video about a new Wide Body Scat that needed the rear quarter & trunk cut out & replaced. Dodge won't buy back the car. It's a $30K fix. I'm scared.
I honestly think that’s a rare situation. I’ve own two chargers 2020 wb and now a 2022 wb charger. Got 25k miles no issues.

Discounting loaded RTs $9k which makes them only 6k over what they should be. They sit for 6+ months without being started then rattle like they're coming apart when you go test drive them.
I can see the regular/narrow body Scats and Cats being discounted a little bit (maybe 4 or 5k below MSRP), but people are going to be sadly mistaken thinking WB Scats and Cats will be heavily discounted.
The tacked on fender flares aren’t making them sell any better- in the end they have to sell cars. They will discount ANY car that sits as long as 23’ Dodge vehicles… I just feel bad for all the people that got duped into paying way too much for these things.

Overflow lots are full, a handful are WB cars, they’ve got em lined up 4 deep in a parking garage, WB’s stuck all the way in the back. They’re like Scooby Snacks for car thieves 🤣. I can’t help feeling bad for all the suckers that fell for the dealers FOMO tactics. Turns out lots of folks don’t know any better.
They use the late 60s & Early 70s Mopars that have exploded in value as an example of what they think will happen.. They see Daytonas, Superbirds, HEMI Cuda’s & Challengers pulling $500k,$1mil+ sometimes, not realizing they only made 1,935 Superbirds ever, 550 Daytonas, 780 HEMI Cuda’s for 1970 & 1971 total, 427 HEMI Challengers were built total for 70 & 71…. These are extremely low production numbers- just really rare cars. Nothing Dodge built from 2005 thru 2023 will EVER approach those values seen by the vintage Mopars- they built so many of these things it’s comical. Also, you couldn’t give those things away come the late 70s & Early 80s- the values completely crashed on them for quite a few years. Nothing good is going to happen when Dodge removes the 50% inflated MSRPs so they can sell these things, as that alone is going to tank the resale quickly- same thing that happened when Tesla slashed prices.
Good news is everyone who didn’t rush out and get one yet will have their pick of much less expensive Scat Packs, Hellcats, Redeyes, WB or otherwise. Waiting is going to pay off in a huge way for a lot of people. Even better- those of us with great credit can take advantage of the 0% financing being offered by more and more dealers becoming desperate to move these things. You watch… Come summer- Dodge will officially be offering 0% for qualified buyers across the board. That coupled with 40% MSRP cuts will move these things quickly.

When the banks get a repo back, and the original purchaser decides to not try to get it back, they go to dealer auctions which then go for normal prices. That pricing then gets the dealer markup from the dealer who just bought it. No deals come from repos when there's auction houses and dealers involved

2019 Chally Redeye $68,700.. Went to get a Hellcat, left with a Redeye cuz of all the HP Dollars, Rebates and dealers that comfortably sold for under MSRP.. Sold it last year for $73,500 with 33k miles.. Bought a New ZL1 and a nice Used Harley with cash..

I’ve been seeing these cars selling fast in the N.Y. area. Dealer had a ghost and he was asking over 100 g’ above sticker. It sold. Personally, I’d not buy used as you have no idea if prior owner beat the daylights out of the car! Nope nope. I bought an 09 SRT8 challenger with every option for 45,000. 15 yrs later I traded my srt8 in for the exact trim/model/options I wanted do I did buy a 2023 hellcat wide body jailbreak for msrp.
