- District Attorney Susan Opper listed off Darrell Brooks' decades-long criminal history with numerous felony and misdemeanor convictions including possessing a firearm illegally, battery, and statutory sexual seduction. "He's a lifelong criminal," Opper said. "This man has a history and a pattern of engaging in violence and dangerous behavior in the community."

He hit Erika with the SAME vehicle previously, got bailed out multiple times by his momma, was given the keys AGAIN, and committed this horrendous attack. What the actual F.
Momma should be punished as well. At least pay some fines. Her vehicle both times after all. That's negligence as far as I'm concerned.

I think the people of Wisconsin need to be just as upset with the system who allowed someone who is so violent, and such a repeat offender, to continually bail out, and walk free!! What?? There is absolutely no reason that DB should have been on the streets to even commit this horrific tragedy! Not only due to his previous crimes, but his mental health is clearly completely unstable! Nothing will change in this country if changes aren’t made to the system, that’s a fact, sadly.

A history of bail jumping and domestic violence, and he got out on $1000 bail. And the FIRST THING he does after getting out on bail is go to the woman he beat up, and then beats her up again for failing to bail him out.

It's a failure on our justice system that someone like Darrell Brooks wasn't locked up before the parade incident. After everything he's done. Now 6 people are dead and hundreds of lives are ruined
There's an archetype of small men who have a pathological need to feel powerful. He does this by putting himself in a vehicle where he can run over people, and where he can find short women to beat up on and bully around. He's disgusting. He's 5'8 and 140 pounds and tries to play power games. He's disgusting, and the world should have put him in his place long ago.
Half the blame goes to his mother who's definitely delusional in regards to her culpability.

You should look at cases in Arkansas then. They consistently give habitual offenders little time in prison and then parole. They will do it for DECADES, to the point where the offender already knows the process, how to stay under the radar while committing the same crime, and how to get away with it OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It's so bad that the same offenders don't even care about going to prison because they know they will get RIGHT back out again in a few years. I have a family member that does this, and they just won't stop until DEATH.... It's actually ridiculous. These laws need to change.

The fact that he used a car as a weapon previously was a major red flag. The thing is he committed these violently crimes in close succession. Within a month he has intentionally ran someone over, shot at someone, and ran over 66 people.

This prosecutor is amazing. The absolute shenanigans she has put up with through this trial is unmatched. She has been professional and impactful. I hope she gets the justice for all the victims because you know she is fighting for each and every single one of them.

You’d think they’d throw him and the car away but NOPE they let him go with no $ bail and gave him back the keys to the car which was like giving him a weapon he had previously used in a crime back.

We need to go back to hard labor for some of these ppl. Make them WORK to pay for their incarceration. Put em back out on chain gangs for construction and any other labor jobs the state needs done. Instead of paying MILLIONS for jobs that should never cost that much in first place!

The judge that let him out of jail in 11/2021 (who lowered his bond) should be held accountable also. This judge has blood on his hands too.

Families of the victims should file a lawsuit against the state for letting this beast run lost to take these people's lives. If he had stayed in prison with all those strikes, people would be alive.

DA Sue Opper Can't Stop Her
This shows how broken our justice system can be. Had he been in jail instead of given an incredibly low bail prior to the parade, none of this would've ever happens.
I think Sue is a very smart woman bringing up all the other charges, clearly shows how dangerous Brooks is. His consistent interruptions and childish behavior show exactly what that Evil is! I'm almost certain I know how his judgement will be handed down up above after he eventually leaves this world. My thanks for the DA and certainly from Judge Dorrow for a very tough patience and trying to keep the decorum of the court. My prayers and thoughts for the community down in Waukesha.

She does not indicate either way but I would be he has juvenile offenses as well, those just do not appear in your criminal history outside of extreme cases where they are tried as adults.
And Judge Dorow already knows all of them, but having them on the record will give credence to what the sentences are going to be. He won’t ever be out of prison. He may die there soon, because prisoners have a code about killing children.
The toughest judgment any of us get will be once face to face with God. Saved or lost, we all answer to God. I fear that DB actions and words are so aligned with Satan, may not be any hope for him. I bet anyone who watched him could tell the bible was a prop. His eyes never moved like he was reading.

It's almost like this man had a checklist or bucket list of all the possible crimes a person can commit and was just ticking them off one by one. Unfortunately innocent people had to actually die before he was taken seriously, which is absolutely unacceptable.
And yet they kept letting him out to commit more crimes while out on bail. I'm sorry, but bail should be harder to get not easier for violent crimes. If you have a prior record and most definitely if you violate your bail it should automatically be revoked and you should not be eligible for future bail.

This indeed was an attack on human decency. I can tell this prosecutor was getting emotional in her statements. In a way, he gets off easy. He goes away, the state of Wisconsin feeds him and clothes him and provides for his medical care. In the mean time, families will be hurting the rest of their lives due to his actions.
I read a reply from a former inmate and he said that wherever darrell goes it will be code red and that his new name will be "Union Pacific." I didn't under stand it at first. Until some replied about all the trains that will be run on him.
There is no death penalty in Wisconsin, what do you expect? They got the absolute best result they could.

I live in Texas and I know we have our problems but I can't imagine someone doing this many crimes and getting out on such low bail over and over again. I could be totally wrong though, I try to steer clear of the justice system and the people in it. He's not getting bail on this one that's for sure, too bad it took the lives of 6 people and the injuries of dozens others to achieve that.

What a system that failed to protect, DB should have never been placed back on the streets, he has other cases to answer for I mean dude really, Menace to society and need to be thrown away like the trash he is. Rest in Power to the victims he slaughtered and hope the families and those injured find peace to get through. This was a very heartbreaking case to see. System supposedly designed to protect certainly let this character slide through the cracks. Throw the book at him strong.
