Officer Bryce Scholton of the Waukesha Police testified that he fired shots at the red SVU as it plowed through the Waukesha Christmas Parade. At 1:25:40 the defendent just basically confessed that he was the driver of the vehicle despite "not consenting to be identified by that name". His little ignorant objections caused him to reveal he was in fact the driver
Literally the first words out of this witness's mouth is his name and how to spell it, and COURT TV misspelled it three times between the title and description - SCHOLTEN

Detective Carpenter did the same as did this officer. He answered the questions directly and succinctly.
Therefore DB got nothing in his questioning.
All DB did was confirm that DB was there and driving the red SUV.
Another officer was detective Rowe he is the one Brooks asked why he is looking at the jury when he was testifying he put Brooks in his place

Notice that Scholten was promoted to the position of "specialist assigned to the criminal investigations division". On the date of the attack he was simply a police officer. I would say his actions during the incident as well as his testimony contributed to his promotion. He processed what he heard on his radio and quickly figured out what had happened as soon as Brooks barreled around the corner. He drew his weapon and waited for the vehicle to clear innocent civilians before shooting. He identified the make, model, and year of the bashed up vehicle after only seeing it for a few seconds. He even unconsciously noted and remembered the license plate number of the vehicle as it passed by him. He demonstrated professional expertise describing the use of deadly force to stop a threat. Then he smoothly demolished Brooks with his testimony. He surely deserved his promotion.

I'm rewatching this testimony again and something just struck me. I always thought his testimony was amazing and that DB looked like a total moron during it. The one thing I never really thought of is the fact that this officer was so brave that night. How quickly he responded, and put the pieces together within seconds. What a terrific officer he is

This man was the best witness I've ever heard. His answers were brilliant and, in his last response, he effectively got Brooks to admit he was driving the vehicle. I'm sure his testimony will be key in the final arguments.
@@bellereve1 I'm glad of that, too. I think his anger got him through. He was focused on making sure there was no doubt that Brooks was the driver, rather than on what Brooks did, and that probably helped him step back from the other emotions about what he saw that day.

This was an absolutely brilliant statement by Officer Scholton. It's the kind of statement that prosecutors love to hear from their witnesses and the kind of statement that really resonates with the jury when trying to determine a defendant's guilt.

They could never have figured out such an effective and brutal way to get that witness to be able to make that statement on the stand, but they didn't have to, because idiot Darrell sovereign citizen Brooks did it for them. His ignorance was such a beautiful sight to behold throughout the trial, and now the fact that he'll never breathe another breath of free air is incredibly satisfying.

Does anyone else watch Brooks cross examinations and wonder how much he is helping the prosecution? He spends so much time arguing specific points that he brings extra attention to his guilt. The fact that he thinks asking this officer if his shots were “kill shots” shows his complete lack of insight to his actions and guilt and how that officer’s deadly force was entirely justified.

Most of the other witnesses were great, but this officer was nearly perfect. He provided the facts, showed an appropriate amount of disdain for DB 😂, and even humored us a bit in the process. I love Waukesha.

This officer's testimony was all that was needed.
Brooks not knowing and asking what “silhouette” means , then so confidently trying to correct the officer on the meaning was painful. Loved the prosecutions reaction though.

@@DNSMLT Well if he is in the so-called "learning phase" of a murder case where he is the defendant in which 6 people were killed and countless others sustained very serious injury, he should have never fired his counsel and taken the case pro-se. The great Abraham Lincoln stated that the man "who represents himself has a fool for a client." Also, I believe DARRELL BROOKS' efforts are to stall, procrastinate and lengthen the duration of this trial with purposeful intent. I do not pass judgment on his guilt nor his innocence but merely stating facts and theories regarding his pro-se representation, frivolous arguments and absurd behavior (in general) at court where life and limb were lost allegedly due to his behavior.
