Nikolas Cruz was just as bad only he didn't show one ounce of emotion, none..Brooks thought he was fooling everyone. It was hard to watch the way he composed himself, but I think it helped solidify just how evil, disconnected, and delusional he really is. All he managed to do was to justify the fact that he is truly evil.

What I would have liked to see .....was the podium and microphone, where people spoke about their tragedy, was placed in front of him. Where he needed to sit with eyes open, facing each person speaking. Not rocking back and forth and or eye rolling. With a couple of law enforcement standing right beside Brooks.....where he had to look at everyone. ! And that mask.....he should have been made to take it off! Per the Judge.

He is so volatile, I wouldn't doubt he would've tried to either verbally abuse them in reliving their pain, or worse, not use words in his abuse. He is a loose cannon, and not the fun kind. Lots of the most honest and truthful things are said from a place of boiling rage. It's annoying how people typically dismiss someone's words because they are "emotional". It's not really true that this necessarily clouds your ability to be logical. Anger is an important and valuable emotion.

My mom met this woman a few years back through her job. We were horrified to hear that her and her daughter had been hit in the parade. I am so happy she put Darrell in his place. The asshole deserves it. I just really hope this can help her heal and their family can get closure. My heart goes out to all the victims involved.

My father is a true sociopath, he pimped us out as children for extra cash and he didn’t blink an eye when my brothers died of an OD and a Suicide respectively in these last 3 years. They don’t even have love for their own children. They are truly empty and the only solace for us is that they do live empty, hollow, meaningless, and worthless lives. All the lives that were cut too short that day were still lived with a love and fullness that his will lack even if he lives 100 years.

When you did that you spoke for me, the judge, the attorneys,, everyone in attendance, and the rest of the world who have been watching this case in silence. He needs to be told over and over how he no longer has power over anything in his miserable life.
Thanks to this parent's statement, the court record now reflects the murderers stone cold mind set and inappropriate hand and facial gestures which clearly shows that he has zero remorse for his bad acts.

I can only imagine how she felt when he later said, “I’m glad to say my conscience is clear.” It’s sickening that we live in a world where such utter disregard for our fellow human’s lives is possible.
Or the 50 minutes of his "poor me" "my poor children who are alive and well" statement. Throughout the trial, it was easy to laugh at Brooks as the judge held his hand as he crashed and burned his way through the proceedings. Now that we've finally got to listen to the victims, the ones who truly matter here, it certainly sets a different tone in that courtroom.

It’s just unbelievable that this “piece of shit” made such a big deal about jury nullification during the trial. He really thought the jury might just ignore the fact that he did this heinous thing. If there was ever a case where that wouldn’t happen the most, this was it.

I hope this woman is okay. She deserved every moment of getting to speak to him and speak of her family. She didn’t deserve to ever face him, though. Out of all of the victim statements that were presented, this is the one that hits home the most for me! She really let him have it, and I believe in my heart that he heard her and will never forget those words!
I can only imagine that ALL of his victims throughout his entire life will take some comfort in what this mother and all of the other victims had to say to him today, including Erica Patterson who has been his victim for years. Obviously he doesn’t have any remorse for anything he’s done, and only cares how this impacts him, and his big macho man image. You diminishing your light or hiding your smile from people you love doesn’t do the victims any good. And it certainly doesn’t do any good for the people in your life.
