- Darrell Brooks appeared in court Friday for his final motions hearing ahead of his trial next week. Brooks is accused of running over the mother of his child, Erika Patterson, with the same SUV he used to trample down and kill several others in the Waukesha Parade massacre. He was wheeled into the courtroom in a wheelchair for Friday’s hearing.

Darrell Brooks is currently serving 6 life sentences and will never be eligible for parole. This man will die in prison. His appeals have all failed. What is the point of any of this, stay the charges and move on. Deprive him of ever having a PLATFORM TO SPEAK FROM EVER AGAIN.
Because his girlfriend and her loved ones deserve for THEIR horrific loss to be heard, and not lumped in with the victims of his crimes at the parade. This is for THESE victims to have their story told and seek vindication for her. She deserves that just as the victims at the parade site did. This is for her, totally disregarding HIM. The last trial, he tried to make it all about him. It is not longer about him, anymore. Those 6 life sentences put him in an entirely difference position, this time around.

It's what is owed to a different crime scene and set of victims, who were not part of the parade scene. Just as for the others, this woman and her loved ones need to have their loss be vindicated. He caused harm and sorrow to so many families. He seems to be a more humbled demon, this time around. He knows he's in for life so hopefully he will sit there like a deflated balloon and learn how he'll only be able to get out in about 900 yrs or so.

@RabbitWatchShop - I remember commenting on the daily trial streams referencing all of the new legal verbiage we learned from Attorney Brooks. It drove me crazy every single time. Relevancy, substained, biast, tackit instead of tacit, the constant “you’re a public servant your honor” and “for the record I do not consent to being called by that name”. It was hilarious!! This trial starts Monday, at least we know he’s not going to be representing himself again!! He’s had multiple public defenders and with the judge being a woman again, I thought for sure he was going to pull the same BS.

Brooks has the look of a man who finally realized that the world doesn't revolve around him, that he got himself into impossibly deep trouble, and that he no longer has any control over his own life. He also looks like he has taken a few beatings to introduce him to the inmate rules of conduct, which happens when someone shows up arrogant and expecting to be treated like a celebrity.

It is rather bizarre to think of the jury being biased or not when it doesn't matter whether they give him 6 months or 20 years - he's not going anywhere. I would think that not having the responsibility of possibly taking a person's freedom away would make it much easier for anyone on a jury.

The attorney via zoom is Russell Jones, the same attorney who sat beside Jessy Kurzcewski (eye drop murder case) during her sentencing recently by Judge Dorow.

The reason he face more charges is because he ran over Erica two weeks before he did the parade attack. That is what he was on was on bond for and his mom bailed him out and let him drive her car again. This is why he was so made with Erica.
