Funny how him and his family claimed that his behavior towards Judge Dorrow was due to mental health issues, and now he's been in prison instead of a hospital receiving mental health treatment but he's doing just fine. Hopefully his mum and grandmother see this and realise the mistake they made trying to blame his actions on a personality disorder he clearly doesn't have

He had no choice. He kept asking for new lawyers, and the judge saw what was up. She point blank told him she would not allow him to represent himself.
He should have been charged with a hate crime for his parade massacre. I hope he never gets out.
He knew he had no chance of being found not guilty.
Even if he had been found not guilty he wouldn't be going anywhere.

We've seen times where a husband/SA/kidnapping/ attempted murder represent himself as his own attorney just so he could try to further annoy his victim. Trevor Sunmers.
Makes sense. I always wondered what happened in those cases. I thought what a terrible burden on victims of these crimes to be interrogated by their abuser.
I wonder why he wasn’t charged with witness intimidation in the other case when he was calling Ericka so many times and she never answered his call from jail.
Oddly it was allowed by the creature who off'd his whole family except the son who haopened to survive. The creature interrogated his son. I remember the son saying "you stabbed me" @MomMom4Cubs

He doesn't wish to pay her any additional money in restitution and avoids doing so by entering a no contest plea to avoid civil liability. That is so foul and truly a testament to his character.
Correction: he doesn't want to pay her anymore than the minimum he will be ordered to pay with no contest than to argue not guitly.
The judge here said that the victim will still be able to file a civil lawsuit against DB.

He seems so much more normal after prison. All this time , maybe, someone simply needed to show him who was in charge and that it wasn’t him. A wasted life . Incredibly sad. I know he isn't going anywhere. I see so many violent offenders get plea deals, and it's sickening. Many get light sentences, are released, and reoffend immediately. I'm not saying plea deals should never be offered, but it should be off the table for violent offenses-including any type of crime against children-
It is harming society and creating future victims.

This was a separate crime he committed against his ex girlfriend a week or two before he ran thru the parade.
She deserves her day in court like all victims do.
However unlikely, if his sentence happens to be overturned in appeals court on the murder charges and he ends up getting out on THAT sentence, at least he will still need to stay in jail on these charges. It's kind of a backup safety net to keep him off the streets. 😕
