Nice to watch a master, been bldg cars 50 yrs and learn new things watching the best like Ian. Olds was beautiful, 2dr conversion was very well done and Henry J taught me a bit about winsow reliefs. Great video and great finished product
I am an Oldsmibile guy...all the way...love Olds...Olds was the hottest car company , finest,hot cars.....love that 1955....I had a 1955 Holiday 98 2dr hardtop
Ian, your good taste, imagination and abilities are amazing…that goes without saying, but I think what really makes your presentations so special is your humanity, humour and communication. Its as if you’re talking directly to me, (us). The video taping is perfect. Who does that, Jamie ? Thanks SO much. Northern Ontario
Jack is exactly right, today’s cars all look like jellybeans! I feel the same way about sixty through eighty cars, can name them in a glance vs todays gamble of what is that?! Nice simple mods, it looks clean and runs and rides nice so what more can there be? Thanks for taking us along brother, was definitely worth the watch! 👍🏼👍🏼 from this guy… 😉✌🏼
You made us feel that it's really easy and uncomplicated, you're a genius👏👏👏👍😍👍 I'm thinking of reversing the process from a two-door sports car to a four-door saloon car. Can you do it, and does the chassis need to be lengthened?🤔🤨
In the earlyer days , we used silicone, and it worked grate ,for years, any ways there must be something ,that went wrong with Silcone, grate video, keep them comeing.
All that work and they didn’t even prime the underside of the hood. That makes me wonder what other type of shortcuts he’s made. Also the engine well wasn’t painted. Unbelievable !
I remember seeing the Henry J and always thought the rear fins just looked like they got bent snd not a smooth line. The Olds needed something to change the big flat sides. Maybe just a chrome shape like the similar years Pontiac.
Although I’m a stock guy I can appreciate those with different tastes. After all it’s your car, money, and passion. Run with it and have fun. And it’s still a 55 Olds ❤
Why ruin these wonderful old cars? No disrespect meant but when you drag the very last one out of a garage somewhere and butcher it, no matter how "cool" it is the fact it was over 60 or more years ago since it was made that original condition is lost forever. Take a lesson from Chip Foose if you are thoughtful enough to pay attention to the guy that learned at the feet of the crusty Boyd Coddington and watch this. Chip bought an ALL ORIGINAL 1932 Model A with he 4 cylinder (no 8) and he an the old guy he bought it from agreed Chip would change the oil, fix the brakes, carb and such and keep it ORIGINAL all the way. Now Chip is an example. This old Olds was a particularly unique car in its day as were the Buicks and Pontiacs of the day. I get it LS swap everybody does it. Auto trans everybody does it. Mod/destroy the dash you get it. Your work is nice but again this is one more survivor that died at the hands of a chop shop and whatever it looks like now is not original to the great designs of the time and the great artists that created them. I'm sorry as a youngster my dad was fascinated with this model and drover a bunch of them trying to get the right one. I always did and do think the Olds was very special.
You’re watching the wrong show if that’s what you’re into man. Overhaulin is more your speed. Everyone has their opinion and their take on rides but Ian is a hall of famer alongside Gene Winfield and such legends that guys like Boyd and Foose look up to and respect. I always saw Ian as more of an artist who uses vehicles as his medium vs other builders. To each their own brother. That’s what custom culture is. Build them how you want them not how other people think you should. Also I’m guessing you didn’t see the episode of Ian and Foose hanging out and these guys all are friends and know and respect each other and each others style. Trust me he doesn’t need a lesson from Foose and other way around.
Amazing how you just make everything just,....... happen. Great work Sir! On both cars.
Nice to watch a master, been bldg cars 50 yrs and learn new things watching the best like Ian. Olds was beautiful, 2dr conversion was very well done and Henry J taught me a bit about winsow reliefs. Great video and great finished product
The old cars are a work of art.
Not sure if the show is still in production, but I really enjoy the ability to relive the old episodes (and see DUDE again)😍🤠
He has his own channel and it's better because it isn't edited
@@wayneyang1155 Full Custom Ian - I watch him there too😍.
Best of both worlds
😊

Watching it go down the road looked really neat.
Keep em coming
Jack described the difference in the years of the cars perfectly! Eddie
Ian you are a great artist.
I love that olds turned out beautiful

doing custom work is a nice talent 2 have
That Henry J reminds me so much of a VW notchback. Love both of those cars.
You mean fastback. They were either fastbacks or wagons... and they were fuel injected!
Beautiful job 😊
This Man is Totally Dope As Hell
I appreciate Ian's sense of scale and proportion. That Olds was too tall to be that short.
Awesome work
Best not to mention Bad Chad on here. There is no comparison, Ian is King, BC A pown😊
Thats pawn.
the cars are great, but man, that's a cool dog!
You made us feel that it's really easy and uncomplicated, you're a genius👏👏👏👍😍👍

I think the pinstripe would look better in black or red.
In the earlyer days , we used silicone, and it worked grate ,for years, any ways there must be something ,that went wrong with Silcone, grate video, keep them comeing.
Wow iๆๆๆๆๆ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
While watching your video, I wondered what this Henry J would look like as a hard-top.
All that work and they didn’t even prime the underside of the hood. That makes me wonder what other type of shortcuts he’s made. Also the engine well wasn’t painted. Unbelievable !
That oldsmobile looks sexy I just love the yellow and white two tone you did a great job transforming it
The metal whisper 🤣
Shiny clear coat would look classier.
you never showed the finished interior ..full view...?!
I remember seeing the Henry J and always thought the rear fins just looked like they got bent snd not a smooth line.
The Olds needed something to change the big flat sides. Maybe just a chrome shape like the similar years Pontiac.
If you want see more of Ians work, then go to his chanel.
THIS IS NOT HIS RUclips CHANNEL!
Thank you!
I have the molds to make a Henry j front grill and even the center section that is a skull. I use to own 4 Henry j’s at one time.
The 32 ford, with the 4 cylinder- was a Model B..
The 32, equipped with the V-8, was a Model 18...
❤ the olds mobile woulda, however i think it woulda been nicer if the chrome was polished
Always wanted a Henry J.
the back end is now reminiscent of a 48 tucker
Neal Dunleavys Favorite Mechanic Yet , Im 41 Ah
The Olds is cool but would have benefited from a long piece of chrome on the sides.
pretty sure that Scratch guy has been on like 3 other Discovery channel cars shows.
Good luck Henry J Tajikistan 👍
3" chop looks way better than 4".
Surprised an old guy like bill didn't send the kid packing with his earrings and goofy hair.
he’s a mates son that the ONLY reason he was there to begin with
thats a Keiser...Keiser also made the Keiser Dragon....4dr
Ian, Bad Chad has nothing on you. He tries but no success.
Yeah two completely different classes there
it is Rocket science...thats an Olds Rocket V8....haha
40mins & Ian can get 2 full custom cars done... Others on RUclips taking months/years to get 1 car done.. He just works faster i guess.
I love the show but the music is over welming. Annoying....
an Olds V8 is bulletproof....they run and run well...
Must be an old episode. We haven't been in Afghanistan for 2 years. Remember that?
We like to see you working on a newer model I mean this is already have a lot of custom made and nothing impressive Wich you luck
like 338 !
I don’t really care for this cocky version of Ian… I like it when he’s funny and more modest
The olds is better design than new...ian show is about custom work...i think you might want to watch some other show..
Although I’m a stock guy I can appreciate those with different tastes. After all it’s your car, money, and passion. Run with it and have fun. And it’s still a 55 Olds ❤
It’s a Kaiser Frazer Henry J. Named after Mr Henry J. Kaiser.
Pin stripping should be finer lines in red, the white is useless better with nothing.
Paint every thing under the hood all rust, hack job
