This mod introduces 30 new races to the StarCraft 2 universe! This is a cast featuring the Ultimate Mode Of Erls: Reloaded mod! This project has been five years in the making. Big thanks to Xhromosoma the work on this mod and for reaching out to me requesting to cast it.
The Ultimate Mode Of Erls: Reloaded features 30 new races with unique mechanics and hero units to the StarCraft world!
Today we've got a matchup showcasing the Eternals (Protoss faction) and Jakob Revenge (Terran Faction)! It's an EvJ between Swarmlord (E) Vs Xhromosoma (J).
If you're new to this channel, I cast a wide range of StarCraft 2 content including casual games and modded games including viewer submitted content! If more casual and modded StarCraft are something you guys are interested in, please consider subscribing!
Since the majority of casts are of pro level games, I think it would be really interesting focus on StarCraft 2 ladder games from the more general population of StarCraft 2 players. Of course I will occasional host a pro-level match once in awhile, but for now I'm focused on casting StarCraft 2 from players in the community!
If you have any StarCraft 2 replays you would like to see me cast, send them on over to my StarCraft email below:

To play this mod: launch StarCraft 2, create a custom melee match and select 'create with mod' and type 'The Ultimate Mode of Erls: Reloaded' and the mod will show up. Create a game with that mod and select any race you want to try with the right hand dropdown menu!

Erls, the original creator of the mod here. Thanks covering it, it means a lot! I know the balance seems wild, as you mentioned it is not perfect with 30 whole races and pretty much everything is stronger than in usual multiplayer sc2, more akin to sc1 where a single ability could wipe out a badly positioned army. Xhromosoma and a few others are now working on developing, fixing and balancing the existing races. I also do recommend turning off Simple Command Card since it hides a lot of abilities and passives.

Really appreciate the effort put into this mod! I can only imagine what it’s like balancing 10 times the content that are the 30 races 💀 from what I’ve seen so far it’s really well done!
I’ll be sure to turn off the simple command card for the future videos

Xhromosoma, the current developer of the mod here, hijacking the comment because YT apparently doesn't let me comment on my own. Just wanted to say huge thanks to you for the video and huge thanks to Erls, for passing the mod onto me. We've recently pushed the mod onto GitHub so the development process should be way faster after a year of developing it myself!

Ok, so for people interested in what races there are, here's short descriptions for all of them:
    1) Blue Intel - Umojan terrans with a lot of new units. As they build and lose units (and reveal enemies with a scan), they get "influence" (basically energy on their unique structure), which can be used to calldown units and structures.
    2) Outcasts - Terran faction which fights exclusively with heroes. Very similar to Co-op Tychus, but with enough differences (like their builder being a huge ship that can instantly drop structures in a certain radius around it).
    3) Xill - Best described as infested protoss. Similar to regular protoss, they also rely on creep (it gives their units additional health regen), and have some zerg units. They have heroes that recieve individual upgrades, one of said upgrades being a "cheat death"-like ability. But if their heroes die, they lose all upgrades.
    4) Holo - Protoss whose units can be specialized in one of three ways, and who have a unique structure that is basically a destructible Spear of Adun caster. Unfortunately, Holo is kind of weak.
    5) Pure Born - A race of... something... that imitates protoss. Similar to protoss, but they don't have shields on their infantry, and don't require powerfield on anything but defensive structures. Their nexus equivalent is a (very) weak mothership that can also warp-in structures. Can train WC3-style heroes.
    6) Corps - as in Moebius Corps. Terran-based race with two main mechanics - many of their units can summon timed life hybrid at the cost of gas, and other units can conjure clouds of void energy that triple the duration of every effect, including timed life of said hybrids. Naturally, that is where the majority of their strength is.
    7) Corrupted - A zerg brood that does not do unit upgrades, and instead inflicts enemies with various diseases. Said diseases only affect certain unit types (like mechanical only, psionic only, massive only, etc), have different effects based on disease and can be upgraded.
    8) Special Operatives - Terran faction utilizing some protoss technology. Split between cheap and disposable projections, and expensive, but powerful regular units.
    9) Legion of Mal'tanis - Tal'darim-like protoss faction. Mal'tanis is a very powerful dark archon that serves as the hero of the faction. Relies heavily on mind control, and one upgrade even allows Mal'tanis to permanently mind control heroes. Their other mechanic is Chaos, that gradually increases, powering up Mal'tanis's units, but it goes down if his units die, and especially if his workers die.
    10) Devil Mai - Terran force in a symbiotic relationship with a zerg broodmother. Many of their units are very "junker" style, and it is also the faction with the most explosives in it.
    11) Antamo Colony - Mercenary fleet. A micro-less faction, as their units are free, but uncontrollable aside from a few, instead they blindly go towards the rally point and fight every enemy they see on the way there. Most of their cost is in their production structures. Also 80% of their units fly.
    12) The Last Zerg - A zerg leviathan that serves as a base unto itself. Can drop units via drop pods and summon hybrid later on. The leviathan serves as the heart and the hero of the faction, and if it dies, you lose all production capability until you revive it at the hatchery (which is one of... four? buildings this faction has). Something of an unfavorite of the dev due to being a bit too straightforward.
    13) High Ones - Last surviving remnants of the Daelaam Protoss. Has some basis on SC1 protoss, but there are way too many differences to say for sure.
    14) Forces of Augustgrad - Co-op Mengsk on crack. Forces are split between troopers, who are cheap, disposable, and cost mostly minerals, and elites, who are expensive, can level up, teleport to base upon taking lethal damage, and cost a LOT of gas. Polarizing faction, this one.
    15) Cyber Zerg - Robotic Zerg, not connected to Stetmann. Their units are produced instantly, but the charges take time to build up (and longer based on what units were done last - like warp gates without "warp in anywhere"). Their buildings are constructed remotely via AI centers, which are limited in how many you can have (IIRC it's two at most).
    16) Jakob Revenge - The puprle faction in this video. They don't have a lot of units, and all of them are expensive in terms of supply, but all of them have several upgrade paths that radically change how they work (for example, their Hellion equivalent starts as a small vehicle with a laser, can become a proper Hellion, a Vulture or a Goliath). Not a faction for beginners.
    17) The Chosen - Some sort of Xel'Naga guardians that were taken over by hybrids. Many of their units are constructs that can temporarily fly over terrain, while others are a split between zerg and protoss units.
    18) Eternals - the Orange faction in this video. As shown, their main mechanic is combat protocol, which is applied to units via nexi and certain units (like adepts or arbiters). Combat protocol takes place of regular units upgrades, which they don't have any - all upgrades are to combat protocol.
    19) Packs of Zerus - Primal Zerg faction that is supposed to have four different packs, with different units, upgrades, and individual supply between them. One unit from each pack needs to be designated as pack leader, becoming much more powerful (and leading other units, as they grow much weaker without a pack leader nearby). Unfinished, with only two packs.
    20) Followers of Nekta'la - Co-op Stukov on crack. Summons increasingly large hordes of infested, and supports them with infested vehicles. Benefits HEAVILY from creep, with all of the faction's upgrades only functioning while on creep. Also likely to kill the game's speed, same as Stukov.
    21) Castaway - Protoss hero-based faction. Each hero is powerful, and can level up WC3 style, but unless you give them a barrier that teleports them to base on lethal damage, a dead hero is gone for good. Not for the faint of heart.
    22) The Last Terrans - Terrans that were spared by Amon, and became apocalyptically fanatical zealots. Once they construct the cathedral, then can accumulate faith, that provides passive bonuses, and can be spent for free units. Many of this faction's units are transformers. Weak economy at first that gets better later.
    23) New Confederacy - Terran faction focused around the Merc Compound-like mechanic. Also known "throw everything including the kitchen sink" faction. Many of their units and structures are only available in limited number.
    24) Combined Broods - SC1-style zerg. Consists of 5 micro-factions that have very similar tech tree, but differ in details. The player can deploy the cerebrate for each of those mini-factions every 5 minutes.
    25) The Last Protoss - Protoss that were spared by Amon, mostly Tal'darim. Quantity over quality race, with every unit being powerful, but expensive. Can deploy an orbital beacon that autocasts Spear of Adun-like abilities.
    26) Taken - Mad scientists that took control of a zerg brood, went SCIENCE on it, and rely on mercenaries for protection. Consists of somewhat strong terran mercs, and powerful enhanced zerg that cost a unique resource that builds up over time.
    27) ??? - Hidden faction 1 - relies HEAVILY on player's units dying to make others better. You're not doing a 0-death run with these guys.
    28) Second Military Expeditionary Force - Second UED fleet, SC1-Terran faction. Each unit type can be upgraded with one of three mutually exclusive upgrades at each of four tech levels.
    29) Nekta'la's Swarm - Broodmother Nekta'la, leading numerous but dumb troops. In a way, every production structure acts like a Carrier, with units working like interceptors. Units can be sent out of said structures towards a point you want them to attack towards, "release interceptors"-style.
    30) Dark Ones - a behemoth of a protoss faction, every unit type requires the player to pick one of 6 units to be used in the match, with selection not being changeable later (so if you pick one type of zealot, you can't change your mind later and is stuck with that type of zealot for the rest of the match). This faction's weapon/armor/shield upgrades also provide unique upgrades for units.
    31) Refugees - Very... unique faction. It has to be seen to be believed. Also can kill itself in two or three minutes if you don't know what you're doing (not kidding).
    32) ??? - Hidden faction 2 - A faction with a LOT of upgrades to go around. Has no buildable HQ equivalent until way later in the tech tree, and has trouble expanding early.
    33) Moebius Foundation - A mix of three factions: A mercenary group with infantry and air, but no vehicles, a lava-based zerg brood with no air units other than Overlords and a VERY expensive protoss that have very strong air, but lack early game potential. Each mini-faction has its own strengths and weaknesses, and need to cover each other to succeed.
That's about it. There's a LOT to go through.

@@ZeroMiner15 The hidden factions cannot be chosen in the lobby. Instead keep race selector as "Flame of Eternity" - that would give you the eponymous unit when you start the game, you can use it to select any of the races. Then you need to press Shift+W to un-hide the races (it will also un-hide the intended-for-AI-only default races, don't pick them), then you will be able to find the hidden races in the "hard" section.

@@ElleixGaming I agree. You'd think that with a mod this huge it'd be bloated as hell, but it's actually really good and almost every race manages to feel relatively distinct even with its similarities to the other ones. Even more interestingly, the mod seems to have its own lore going on, with some unit descriptions having some funny and interesting flavor text, alongside the petty on the nose descriptions of the "Last Terran/Zerg/Protoss" factions, which are basically said to be the only members of their kind that Amon has spared after conquering most of the universe

@@ElleixGaming The steep learning curve is what keeps most of the players off (there is a LOT of reading). Also the playerbase just kinda died out. It was at its peak in 2021-22, and nowadays not a lot of public lobbies are being hosted, rather its private 1v1s and whatnot.
The other issue is balance. I myself never cared for it, given the amount of sheer content this mod provides, but i imagine a lot of players will be thrown off by it. Although the new developer and active players do work towards a more balanced experience.
Thank you for the video though, as a pretty much day 1 enjoyer of this mod i appreciate the coverage

Back when dev couldnt figure out how to place buildings with Spark Of Eternity so he had to give workers a 1 charge of fast built main building, and 12 charges of button that copied worker that used it. And had to hide Corrupted race from public use cause it was too hard to play 😆

Wow this mod looks so cool! I wish the dev(s) luck on balancing out all 30 races! Here's hoping this mod gets revived (given what the other comments are telling me) with this upload, and same goes for seeing more vids on it! Speaking of vids, given how there is 30 races, would it be feesible to maybe do a video or mini series covering the essentials of the races like with the Xayad? Would probably help re-invigorate the mod's popularity.
Also, if it may interest you, may I recommend checking out the Heptacraft mod at some point? It combines the best elements of Brood War + SC2, with 7 playable factions, 2 for each race + Covenant (Moebius/Tal'Darim/Hybrid). Like UMOE:R here, Heptacraft too has sort of "died" in popularity, but its very cool! Especially with a lore-accurate playable Hybrid race!
Edit: Should also mention that summerload/wintermute, the creator of Heptacraft, has since made the mod open source so other people can take the mantle with maintaining it.

Wtf dmg is so high and from instant sources.
How are you supposed to micro vs those bursts.
Every damage ability in base game is either damage over time and pretty telegraphed.
Here it is just pretty much free to use abilities that do front loaded damage with no tells.

your troops are also stronger than in the ladder and knowing what the enemy has, you can figure out how to fight against it, also in the ladder there is a yamata on the battlecruiser which many units are not able to dodge no matter what micro you use, and it also deals high one-time damage

Let's see some of the damage sources featured in the video:
      1. Eternals' base defense is a rapid beam, it's only dangerous to units that are clustered together, takes about 20 seconds for a single charge to regenerate
      2. Jakob's base defense fires 45 damage missiles at multiple targets, that's enough to kill a group of lings, given that most unit stats are pushed over their vanilla analogues', and vanilla races aren't even in the game
      3. Cyborgs cost about 300/150 or more depending on the upgrades, stim is an upgrade you have to select over something else that can be way more useful depending on the situation, this is about the same DPS as the Thor
      4. Initiator's chain lightning makes up to 4 workers oneshottable - yes, might be busted
      5. EMPs have always been dodgeable, and yet I can tell you can't dodge them. Don't worry, I can't either. Ghosts that fire them cost about 300/400 and are magically countered by Eternals' sentries who have detection and a 200 hp shield
      6. Babel Archangel's EMP is also counterable if you don't stand in its way, blink or presplit, meanwhile the unit is also as expensive as three motherships to build and upgrade
      7. Eternal's(the immortal) Overwatch Mode roots the unit in place, so you can ignore it, blink/walk away, focus it down without it being able to escape. Also, it's still the immortal, which you can outspam with marines, instakill with something like a yamato or even counter with air units
      8. Assistance Aircraft is expensive to build, and its cloak is a separate upgrade. Even though its DPS is obscene, it loses its anti air weapon and is still as fragile as a Banshee
Most of these attacks are also telegraphed if you take your time to learn them, even if you're not 7k. Also, there are way less terrible trade situations like the vanilla Battlecruiser-Corruptor, where the former can oneshot exactly the same number of corruptors(which are intended to counter them) as the number of BCs and get away. And this is considered balanced because Serral, and because the BCs are turned down on the pro scene towards less supply and tech intensive options.
Also, the town hall defense abilities exist to prevent the most simple rushes, nobody prevents you from baiting them out or coming with a stronger force.
      Dot.
      Edit: Better than Stormgate
