I've done several of these. You can do so much with them. I am going to sell or rent out my 5th wheel after I finish my mini-cottage for me to live in. Very small! But for me - at 74 - I don' t want a lot of space. And easier to just walk out the door - get in truck and take a trip! Love the finishes he used. Great job!
7:39 it's a gorgeous build. I just have to say, this man has never cooked and/ or slept in the loaf. Other than those two rather major things, I love it.
Beautiful setting, beautiful tiny space! Using a shed is so practical. There is no reason it couldn't be a permanent tiny home option. It's 60 sq ft larger than my home. The floor plan, design, and finishes are all good choices. Thanks for the tour! 💗
I like everything he’s showed. I think the porch should be a little bit bigger so you can swing better in your swing. Also, the stove is in a weird spot to me. It’s too close to the sink while they’re so much more open space available where it could go.
I would've definitely extended the front porch out about 6 more feet. The purpose of tiny living is to enjoy and take advantage of the outside. Personally I love the tiny homes with wrap around porches.
Since it's a corner where you can't do much with, I think that the burners works okay, but it is a bit awkward. Shorter people would have trouble cooking on it without something to stand on. I wish I would have gotten a 6 or 8 foot porch on my cabin instead of a 4 foot one. The swing is WAY too big for that porch.
This is the most stunning shed interior I've ever seen! His interior design eye is top-notch. Once I have land, I would 100% copy this build in a heartbeat.
Last yr, my son's friend bought this and we wired it for him in a weekend! Elec hot water tank went under the stair landing. Elec Panel was above that with elec service meter on the N end of the building. Circuits went up through upper and lower stair well walls. Toilet, shower, was under stairs, 30" door on rt end. Kitchen cabinets from stair to bathroom door. Wood stove in S. back corner of liv room. Mini/split AC N end, next to elec service. Upstairs big bedroom and sleeper/sofa down stairs for company. His Tuff Shed roof sagged and walls spread after heavy rains! We pulled the walls back in with come-alongs, Bolted steel cables thru the wall headers, next to each roof rafter with turn buckles in the center for adjusting. Then added an L shaped brace above the ceiling and short vertical 2x4's bracing the center ridge. Building wouldn't have passed a framing inspection as-is but the guys who built the kit weren't framers and there was no inspections out in the country... Glad we caught it in the elec rough in stage!

@australianwoman9696 I thought so too but I guess he had to put it further back closer to the corner to be able to stand on the counter to climb up the ladder to get to the !oft.
I would make it so the sliding barn door for the bathroom does not have a big gap open to the kitchen when "closed" as I would find the odors coming from toilet use spreading into the kitchen quite the turn off.
States need to start changing laws around building codes. Making them okay as an ADU only helps people who already have homes. There are SO many seniors living in cars, it's shameful. Many people could be housed if they simply made these LEGAL.
Why would they ever allow people to be able to afford to fully own a home without destroying their financial future? Isn't it always things that would make our lives easier and more affordable that they tend to demonize and ban?
I would love to have a tiny home. I think it would be affordable living for me with only a SSI income. The problem is the price to get one made and finding a location here in Ohio. I love and dream of these amazing homes especially when it’s all one floor because being disabled that is needed. Such amazing work. ❤❤😊
I have a feeling he put that up just for show and it's probably not up 24/7. I agree with you and it really doesn't look that comfortable for anyone that is of average size. I would just hang it from a tree somewhere on the property. other than that it looks pretty nice, oh one other thing I didn't really like the placement of the 2 burner stove, that kind of looked funky to me. I'm sure he has some sort of technical issue for that though.
It is super easy to frame out/build popouts that significantly increase the area of these tiny houses. For example, putting in a 4' x 2' popout in the bathroom to place the sink in will make the bathroom be and feel so much roomier.
I like it! You stand up, and you are on one side, and when you turn around, you are on the other! You turn the vacuum on, and you're finished! Who would have thought you could have a house that can fit into your little bedroom?
Very cute and nice finishes. Its a tiny home so expanding and enlarging this or that space defeats the object. It is incredible how well the space is utilised. ❤
The biggest problem with this is being able to find a place that will let you park these! If it's not a legal issue or a neighborhood property HOA restriction, then you are in luck. But these things are causing people to not be able to have these tiny homes.
If they ACTUALLY try to make them affordable and not just expensive little homes. Some of the prices of these container home and trailer homes are ridiculous.
@Mary-zr1vi you have to find the land. HOA people are inherently elitist, Id NEVER own where I had to pay a fee AND still had a group of people tell me what I could or couldnt do with "MY" land. Find some unrestricted land
I think the layout and everything about it looks good the only concerns I see are the stove is too close to the wall and it's not really manageable and workable and the TV seems too close to the couch....
I don't think he thought the layout out too well. The living room area should've occupied the larger space & the kitchenette should've been in the nook next to the bathroom, instead of turning the whole place into a kitchen. That's just my opinion
Agree, huge amount of space for a “kitchen” that doesn’t have a stove or decent size fridge. The colors and decor are very nice, but the design is not a good use of the space.
It’s so nice to actually see a tiny home. I built an 8 x 16 and I absolutely love it but people will say 800 ft.² my first house when I had kids was 800 ft.² and I had a formal dining room that’s not a tiny house.
Very nice. The only problem I see with shed house conversions like this is they don't have a vapor barrier between the studs and the exterior plywood sheathing. If it were me I take all that sighting off, add a layer of foam insulation wall board, and then wrap it with Tyvek wrap before putting the original plywood wall boards back on. If only there were a shed maker to cater to the conversion market! They could make units wrapped like that, maybe with wall studs that are 2 ft taller to allow for roomier lofts.
Have you thought of putting 2 sheds together for more space? You did a great job...The housing market is terrible, this could work! Great video. Where is Index? I live in Wa. Also

So, I'm not sure how you would consider that to not be affordable housing... You literally will not find anything cheaper. Even most tiny houses these days have a starting price of $100k+, same with camper vans and other rigs. Also, you can't possibly compare this to someone who lives in a tent or "less than". A tent doesn't have anywhere near the amount of structural integrity or protection from the elements, nor does it have all of the amenities and modern conveniences like indoor plumbing with running water, electricity, and a full working kitchen. I like the shed conversion to a tiny home. I love the interior. I probably would have placed the cooktop closer to the microwave and placed the sink under the window.
It’s cute but there’s a lot I would change if I owned it. But it was certainly well done. No doubt about it. I’ve looked at sheds myself. Unfortunately my sons backyard can turn into a swamp at certain times of the year. Its a shame because I would love to have one as a little home for myself. They are just so cool!
I would’ve made a larger living room and smaller kitchen utilizing the alcove area. Would’ve made a mini swing or put one in the yard. Overall great idea!!
They had something similar to this design at a place that sells sheds by our local mall. I was looking at it and thinking that it would make a great tiny home.
I live in a Midwest so I had to have an air conditioner go to Home Depot. They have an air conditioner heater all in one and I put it on the top and it works perfectly.
nobody ever talks about it, but as someone who rents out your tiny home, Clay Baby, do you ever worry about someone bringing bedbugs or lice into the home? I love how you did the inside by the way:)
Cute build, for sure. Though as with most tiny houses location makes the most of it. I wouldn't know many people who'd be able to call such a place their backyard. It's beautiful.
That's a good idea to do that with a shed I thought of it but I didn't think it'd be big enough. Two car garage would work just fine get rid of the garage doors
She'd conversion, Awesome! I live in a 8x4x5. I have 75 Amp hours, a propane heater? And 2 gas cooking burners. No refrigeration, no bath or wash facility. 6 months now. I'm like an astronaut, just don't have zero gravity.
It is amazing how this can be done with a shed, especially in an expensive state like Washington. The shed was bought with a porch and windows made me question what the shed intended purpose was to begin with. 30,000 to build with amazing scenery is a deal I couldn't say no to. I wonder how much this would sell for.
Thirty thou. may be cheap for a house, but to rest that 30 grand on cement blocks with no footing & sheet rock skirts is gonna cost a hell of alot more when rain sinks those blocks. Then there's when the snow melts as well.
I have a few issues with these "tiny" homes. I have yet to see someone create ones that give "larger" people a look into what they can do in order to make the design work for them. I also have yet to see anyone build one where if the person ever becomes disabled at any point and can no longer crawl up to the loft or fit in tiny thin shower stall etc... how it can be quickly adjusted so they can still live in it. I think a lot of people forget that at any point in time their health could take a nose-drive and they would end up unable to live in something so small because the design did not include easy adjustments incase certain situations would happen. Last thing someone needs on top of medical bills is forking another 10, 20 or 30K in order to make their tiny home still livable for them. I also wish many states would start to allow tiny home as legit residential housing. Very few states and cities allow a "tiny" home as an acceptable long-term home/living situation.
Well if your larger person like my daughter your tiny home would have to have the high ceilings you customize it so the doorways could be bigger if you wanted most of them have the sliding doors and are open-concept there are plenty of tiny homes with the bedroom downstairs and not in a loft if you become disabled you have to build a ramp on a home anyway I'm looking at my home and I'm thinking I'd feel safer if I was disabled in a tiny home I could get around better than in my home And if I was disabled I would think the cement stairs in the cement porch going out would be more difficult coming out of my house or an apartment
Id prefer adding a deck onsite and using that extra 4 feet inside! That would give you more space in the living area and kitchen. And I would gave put the kitchen next to the bathroom. Shorter pluming runs.
Amazing build. To improve the look, I would introduce a black, grey and white exterior color scheme, making it classier. Paint over the natural wood out front!
Not too bad, definitely looks more diy especially with the shower and stepping on the countertop but I don’t know if I could do any better 😅 overall it’s a great job and I definitely would enjoy a stay in something like this 🎉

So, loads of counter space in the kitchen, but you can't cook because the cooktop is way on the back of the counter. I'm short, and I know I wouldn't be able to reach to properly cook on that. And it's super close to the window. Don't try having curtains there. I think that couch is very close to that giant TV. And I'd want a bathroom door that covered the whole doorway. Lastly, how do you even use that swing? It doesn't have room to move.

Ignore the haters, this is great. Big kitchen like that goes a long ways if you're catching your own food, like any fish out in that river.
This is your home and it is amazing enjoy your home it is for you no one else I like it probably others as well don't worry about people who always say what they would have done or changed they won't be doing anything because they watching you enjoy your life soooooooo great job🎉
Great job, I think I would have e extended the porch so that the swing wouldn't look so cramped but other than that it's gorgeous..
This is the first older one I've looked at.Nice to know that the structures have held up for a while.
Super cute love the layout and colors. I would have put the sink in front of the window, the cooktop where the sink was removed the window by the fridge and put a larger fridge and put a super large window for the views over the sofa and used a sofa bed. ❤ Forgot to add you could add a large white curtain to the living room closest to the fridge that could be pulled out.
As a professional contractor I'm interested in how many hoops you had to jump through for the building codes and inspections? LOVE the idea!
he did not. The thing is gonna burn down. I see so fire alarm, nor any fire extinguisher.
@@r3dbar000n Why would it burn down?
In some places these are "portable buildings" so you don't need inspections.
@@r3dbar000n 🙄
I love the conversion ❤🤩
Great job! I love it.
The swing space is way too small. People determined to use it will cause damage.
Yeah, damage to their knees, let alone the railing
Nick that's a Great lookin shed to Tiny home build, that marble shower is really Beautiful and I really appreciate you stand up f9r the homeless living in tents and those that are very close to becoming homeless! There are too many homeless in my home city in Northwestern Lower Michigan.
Great Work 😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
I like the shed conversion to a tiny home. I love the interior. I probably would have placed the cooktop closer to the microwave and placed the sink under the window.
Nick is so talented
It’s pretty but that cooktop is in the corner. I’d hate to try and cook on that.
Not to keen on people stepping on the counter where you cook!
You do understand that you can wipe it down.
Yes!
You can always put a welcome mat on the counter 😂
@@jerriecook6908 How many people would remember to do that though?
you and I both.😂😅😂
We bought a 12x40 with lofts. Total wiring, insulation, plumbing and shiplap. Had it for 2 years and sold it for 25,000
It’s cute but there’s a lot I would change if I owned it. But it was certainly well done. No doubt about it. I’ve looked at sheds myself. Unfortunately my sons backyard can turn into a swamp at certain times of the year. Its a shame because I would love to have one as a little home for myself. They are just so cool!
Are you able to dump a load of dirt and stone into the swamp? Can you fill the area with dirt/ stone,so the water will be diverted away?
I want one for myself
SAMEEEEE
I thought about doing this in a half acre property and renting it, I'm glad it is doable, I would buy slightly bigger, and fit maybe 2 or 3.
I personally do not like lofts, however I love the layout of the rest, the set up, scenery. Everything else is gorgeous…💚
Cozy little home. Would love to live in that. (with some changes to my liking of course).
I would’ve made a larger living room and smaller kitchen utilizing the alcove area.
Would’ve made a mini swing or put one in the yard.
Overall great idea!!
I ❤ the cabin! EXCELLENT BUILD & WHAT BEAUTIFUL DECOR!
They had something similar to this design at a place that sells sheds by our local mall. I was looking at it and thinking that it would make a great tiny home.
Why is the stovetop back in a corner? Cute conversion.
That was a question I have. Cooking on it would be difficult.
I could imagine that the placement would be functional.
6:00 tour starts
Thank you!!
Lol. That swing.
No space to swing on the swing 😕
It gives me hope that you care about affordable housing for people. Awesome build btw!
I live in a Midwest so I had to have an air conditioner go to Home Depot. They have an air conditioner heater all in one and I put it on the top and it works perfectly.
I would rent this in a heartbeat. How lovely. Well done.
nobody ever talks about it, but as someone who rents out your tiny home, Clay Baby, do you ever worry about someone bringing bedbugs or lice into the home? I love how you did the inside by the way:)
Cute build, for sure. Though as with most tiny houses location makes the most of it. I wouldn't know many people who'd be able to call such a place their backyard. It's beautiful.
The entire time he was in the kitchen, I kept staring at the stove, terrible placement. Everything else was great
Love it, I personally don't like loft areas but that's me, it still beautiful!!! Great job!🎉
It's really a kids hangout spot.
Beautiful for rental or holiday, with a fabulous location ❤
I could live there full time. Peaceful and out of the way.
My housing is a capacitor, by accident.
Awesome home ! Cute outfit Jenna ! ❤
It is amazing how this can be done with a shed, especially in an expensive state like Washington. The shed was bought with a porch and windows made me question what the shed intended purpose was to begin with. 30,000 to build with amazing scenery is a deal I couldn't say no to. I wonder how much this would sell for.
Why is the induction stove so far back on the counter ?
Thirty thou. may be cheap for a house, but to rest that 30 grand on cement blocks with no footing & sheet rock skirts is gonna cost a hell of alot more when rain sinks those blocks. Then there's when the snow melts as well.
Woooooooow this is so awesome!!!!! One of the BEST I’ve ever seen!!!!
Well if your larger person like my daughter your tiny home would have to have the high ceilings
you customize it so the doorways could be bigger if you wanted most of them have the sliding doors and are open-concept there are plenty of tiny homes with the bedroom downstairs and not in a loft if you become disabled you have to build a ramp on a home anyway I'm looking at my home and I'm thinking I'd feel safer if I was disabled in a tiny home I could get around better than in my home
And if I was disabled I would think the cement stairs in the cement porch going out would be more difficult coming out of my house or an apartment
That poncho hoodie is awesome
Id prefer adding a deck onsite and using that extra 4 feet inside! That would give you more space in the living area and kitchen. And I would gave put the kitchen next to the bathroom. Shorter pluming runs.
Amazing build. To improve the look, I would introduce a black, grey and white exterior color scheme, making it classier. Paint over the natural wood out front!
Not too bad, definitely looks more diy especially with the shower and stepping on the countertop but I don’t know if I could do any better 😅 overall it’s a great job and I definitely would enjoy a stay in something like this 🎉
I love this home!!! This would be a dream come true!!! And the property is stunning, its everything! This is all i want!!! ✌🏼💙🙏🏼
i could see myself doing this. love the dark wood paired with the white. guy has a nice sweater too
Very Cozy! Love all that was done in this project!
Cool conversion but I don't care for the bed over the kitchen having to step on the countertop 😕
Well, I’ll tell you what. A million views. Don’t you just have it all figured out. Real proud of what you done. I get it, and I’m going to build a similar project in my land in East Tennessee.
6 cabins. I’ll bet you dollars to doughnuts that folks want to stay in the beautiful, undeveloped East Tennessee country.
I think we’ve got the land to provide people, families, the homes they need. Whatever your family looks like, we’d love to provide you with unique opportunities to secure long term housing
This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.
The scenery is beautiful!❤😊
That's what I love about living in washington lol
Such an nice easy going personality, very creative
So, loads of counter space in the kitchen, but you can't cook because the cooktop is way on the back of the counter. I'm short, and I know I wouldn't be able to reach to properly cook on that. And it's super close to the window. Don't try having curtains there. I think that couch is very close to that giant TV. And I'd want a bathroom door that covered the whole doorway. Lastly, how do you even use that swing? It doesn't have room to move.
Hot water heater? Why would you heat hot water? we say this in NC, too
Burrito nite has a whole new meaning
