Wow, the video on the tiny homes connected with a sunroom sounds amazing! It's great to see the creative ways people are finding to make the most of their living spaces. By the way, have you heard about the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile and powerful backup power solution that's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and RV lovers like us. It has an impressive capacity, fast recharging, and even waterproof technology. Definitely worth considering for your outdoor adventures!

When she talked about her electric toilet, she said something about having nothing left but aish. Well, that's how she said it! I'm presuming she was talking about ash, as the residue of the toilet system after incineration?

As I've aged, I've come to realize that traveling and living a simple life is what make me happiest. I'm no longer interested in the big houses, fancy cars, name brands, etc. I no longer chase what society, at large, and other individuals deem a success. And this perspective on tiny living is very inspirational as I think about how my mother is currently living in her latter years and how I want to live mine. I've been talking to my siblings, my mother, and her siblings about building our own tiny home community for both family and friends. I think it's time to turn the talk into reality.

Zoning can be a pain. What if you were each to have your own tiny home, but connected by a large communal space like the sunroom here? That would make it meet the minimum square footage, allow you each full privacy, with the large room for family gatherings or entertaining. Just a thought.

I love the house, the sunroom, the timber... but I love the spirit of the person behind it. Christina has so much humanity in her soul, in her work as a companion to end-of-life patients and a kind soul who considered her buddy's welfare in the design. She's a sun to others and it's not surprising the sunroom is her favorite.

Absolutely agree. Thank you for taking the time to comment about this. Too many people don't even think about it or they just assume that family members/friends will take over the care and more often than not that doesn't happen. The animals are either adopted out, most times without proper vetting of the people or they end up surrendered at a shelter. I have personally seen it many many times when I worked in the feral cat world for 12 years.
So for anyone reading this that have beloved pets - Do not assume, even if you've been promised by family or a friend that they will take that animal into their home, that they will follow through. Trust me.
There are many organizations that you can make a contract with to take over the care of your beloved pet and per your wishes either have them try to privately adopt out (which they have an incredible screening process of course), or they also have animal sanctuaries where your pet will live out the remainder of its life. It is extremely worth it to get a small life insurance policy or add-on to your existing one to cover the expenses, which can vary depending on what service you are requesting.

It's simple and personal and practical. I love the kitchen sink with the sliding shelf. I also love the room with the fireside heating with propane in a room for viewing the sunset with glass walls. I think the enclosed porch or mud room is so smart. Having a place for coats and shoes umbrellas and whatever else she may need for going out or coming in was very practical. Well thought out. This woman has such a beautiful life philosophy. I love the way she has thought out how she wants to spend her final days in this world. Her story is a classic example of karma. She has shown tremendous kindness to others and it has been given back to her from all those involved in building and contributing to her home, not to mention the bequest from her former husband. I’m an old softy and was brought to tears a couple times while watching this video. And finally, I LOVE that the Buffalo Bills were on the TV each time it was pictured. GO BILLS! This is like a moment where you just know the universe is working fine. I have been struggling with the idea of getting old and my husband and I finding our way in that journey. This is the answer. I love love love this. I want to be in as much nature as I can in my last years. I am not old by any means ( 59 is close to the end game. I am no fool. that is to come) but this concept appeals to me to no end. Just going to add bookshelves. Bookshelves on every wall. the simplicity of life becomes more apparent as we age and make our way towards the next journey.

There are so many things… but here are just a few I have run across. Build things that take little to no maintenance. My house for example has very little wood to paint or have to replace in 20 years when I am 80. I live in the desert so wood, paint, don’t last long. I’ve built mainly with concrete, glass and metal.
I have designed the floor plan to accommodate a walker or wheel chair if need be. I’m designing my garden spaces for this consideration as well. I’ve also tried to design it to use as little utilities as possible. So when I do have a fixed income I’ll be more likely be able to afford to heat and cool. These are just a few things, hope they help.

Just because you trust the owner and have a good relationship doesn’t mean that if he or she passes away that there heirs will keep the same agreement. They will have the right to do anything they want with that property. I hope you have worked it all out. You seem to be a very smart lady. Much blessings.

I'm actually a fan of such room tours. Not just to see how people use the space they have smartly and creatively, but also because each of the houses I have seen thus far doesn't 100% resemble another. There is always so much originality as well as unique characteristics of the owner flowing into the houses itself, and, that said, I just think I love seeing people expressing themselves in terms of how they live their life? This one is no exception, either; I love especially the idea about the sun room, the hanging clothes rack (? -- I am not sure about the term in English, as I'm not a native speaker :P.), and, well, the bathtub. :) And I am so happy for Christina to be living in her dream home now.

Christina. Beautiful home with lots of features to make your life nice. As someone who worked in medical rehab equipment and accessability I noticed two things in your video. First, in your tub you have one of the suction mounted grab bars. Don't trust it. It will loosen up and give way when you don't expect it. Take it off to clean the rubber and remount frequently. Better yet, if you don't plan on moving it around, replace with a permenent one like your others. Also, in your video your hall seems narrow. Might be the camera lens. Hopefullu it is wide enough for a wheelchair should you ever need one. Keep it up and enjoy your next 25 years.
