Anyone else had that parking memory function 'drift'? Worked great a couple of times, but then started to try and park in a brick wall further up the street. It had all the moves right, just in the wrong place!

Very handy! I especially like the memory part. I've had a few spaces right next to walls or pillars where this would have been helpful. These separate videos on specific features are great.

Good demo. Had something similar steering wise 10 years ago in a Tiguan but I only used it twice both times as 'ghee whiz' demos to pals, but never used it myself, it was quicker to park manually. But with all the all round sensors it was able to parallel park into tiny spaces. It was impressive for older 2010 tech so the above demo with full control is even more impressive.

Ah Tesla. I think other manufacturers will get there some day. Well those who think it's safe and a good idea.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland IMHO Working safe AFSD is still 20-25 years away. AI is barely in its infancy yet. But the marketing hype as usual overhypes automation. The electric toothbrush will never catch on. :)

I was at the dealer today and ID.4 GTX DOES have the side sensors which means I may have this feature on mine.😊

Hi Jim, I just got my ID4 GTX Business and It has the Park Assist Plus which does the automatic parking and works really well. I don't think it has the memory function . I've watch a few videos on how to do it and the option just isn't there.

Yes, one of the updates is to enable the over the air future ones I believe
We haven’t seen the 3.0 update on the ID.4 here in the U.S. … would love to see a video of your impressions especially with regard to how the update improved system lag. Not sure if that is a problem in Ireland but here the ID.4 has been heavily criticized for having a very slow and unresponsive user interface that VW says the new update should fix. Thanks so much!

I received my 2022 ID.4 last year from Germany. It came with 3.0 software. I haven't had the guts to try park assist yet. The video makes it look real easy. Thanks.

These are a lovely feature. My concern is that when you are parking with traffic on the road the selection of parking mode takes too long. I have it on my i3 and it is brilliant when you cannot hold anyone else up.
Do you have to stop to select the memory function?

Thanks Des. Definitely takes a little longer than manually parking on the street or in a bay. The stored memory options (up to 5) just pop up as you approach the space. Break and hit start, away it goes.
Great demo. On a separate matter, can you answer the phone with the steering wheel controls in the ID 4?

Good afternoon. Thanks for the comment and question. It will depend on your trim level. You should be able to see the software version in the center infotainment screen. A dealer visit is required if you need the 2.4 version but after this I believe they will be all OTA (Over The Air). Let me know how you get on.
Can you also summon forward backward and outside the car maybe with the key or telephone app?

By reading the news from Volkswagen, update 3.0 would include the following features, 1. Park Assist Plus with memory function, 2. Travel Assist with Swarm data and Assisted Lane Chang 3. Augmented Reality Head-up-Display. May I ask you, are these three features free with a 3.0 software update? Is the Park Assist Plus free, but not the memory function? If they all are options, how much is the cost, and how to get these options? Appreciate so much your time and effort in reading this, and very much looking forward to your response to this. Thanks!
Hi Romulus. Your ID model will need to have a certain level of equipment and trim to be eligible for the upgrade. Check with your local dealer and if you are eligible it is no cost to my knowledge

Had a loan of 1 of these cars recently, nothing illuminated at nite under main screen , I thought it was broken but apparently that’s how it is 😂😂, incredible.
Lovely smooth drive 204bhp not enough car to big.
And infotainment screen simply awful

I believe it's going to be worldwide. Your car needs to have a basic level of tech for it to work ie side sensors
And update from VW when they plan on rolling it out to us? It was supposed to be April I thought!
No idea unfortunately but let me check with my contact in VW.
A bit worried if you can't park a car and need assist for it how other car handling might work as well.

@@NevoEVReviewIreland Cruise control is different it doesn't "drive" car for you it only maintain speed which should be forced for most people because they drive under limit.
Yes, the speed limiter function. I think they are bringing in an EU law for this

It didn't park & aligned with other cars it park way too much on the front it supposed to back up a lil bit more

I thought this video was pretty poor - sorry! Why couldn't you get out of the car with a camera after each manouvre to show us where it was in the space after it had finished parking so we would have an idea how good or bad it was? Couldn't be bothered maybe? 🤔😁😉
Thanks for the feedback Geoff. I'm always learning and happy to take feedback. A great idea, I'll walk around after with the GoPro to show the final parking space. It definitely wasn't that I wasn't bothered. Recording 4 camera angles along with the editing afterwards is definitely not simple.

I don't think that is correct. This is a section from an email I received from Volkswagen Ireland. Not all ID.3 or ID.4 have Area View.
In order to avail of Trained Parking Functionality or Memory Function, the vehicle would need to be equipped with Assistance Package Plus as standard on the ID.4 Tech. This includes:
Travel Assist 2.5,
Emergency Assist, Side Assist
Area View overhead camera incl. reversing camera
Trained Parking Sensor-controlled Easy Open & Close.
Area View is the necessary hardware here which is required to facilitate the functionality of the trained parking or memory function.

It wasn't just 1st edition ID.3 and ID.4s that didn't have the correct side sensors, IIRC they didn't start adding them until a factory refresh in July 2021? Our car is technically a correct trim level car but was produced before the refresh so doesn't have the sensors.
I am currently awaiting delivery of an ID.4 Style Edition Pro here in the UK. Is there a way of knowing if this model will come with the parking functionality?
Now all VW needs to do is actually deliver cars to Canada. LOL

seriously bay parking lol.. car stops before being fully back on the parking spot and super close to the car next to you, that you probably cant even open the door... Dude, could you be a bit more honest and thorough during your tests? the self parking is not just about doing the task but doing it right in real conditions. whats the point of parking this way if you cant get out of your car...
