    No, the first game is ToHeart, the second game is ToHeart 2, the third game is ToHeart 2 Dungeon Traveler, the forth game is Dungeon Traveler 2, and the last game is Dungeon Traveler 2-2. Only Valve can rival Aquaplus' aversion to the number 3.

    • @GaiusIsidoro

      You're right! I completely confused ToHeart2 and ToHeart 2 Dungeon Traveler. Just goes to show how confusing it all is to the point where I thought I was so clever catching everything when I made this video and completely missed th4e second VN in the series. Anyways, thanks for the heads up. Got a good laugh out of your Valve comment too. You get the pin!

    Have far to many on my backlog so skipping most but Unicorn Overlord may be the one I pick up. Im not sold yet but I always love Vanillawares art and while I have been a bit up mixed on their previous titles 13 Sentinels left a hugely positive impression on me. I do have FFVII remake for day 1 as someone has kindly bought it for me for my birthday but ive still not summoned the enthusiasm to play intermission yet so it will probably just sit there for a few months or years. I will play through the original again in the next few months like I do every year despite the backlog. On Octopath Traveler 2 atm (like it a lot so far) and after that it is Dragon Quest 5.

      I hear you on Vanillaware. The only two games from them I didn't really take to myself were GrimGrimoire and Grand Knights History, but I love their studio's art style too.

    Based on just this video mine would be like this:
    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
    The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak
    Goblin Slayer Another Adventurer Nightmare Feast
    Persona 3 Reload
    Visions of Mana
    Unicorn Overlord
    Metaphor: ReFantazio
    Granblue Fantasy: Relink
    Visions of Mana
    Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
    SaGa Emerald Beyond
    Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
    Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars
    Decapolice
    Front Mission 3 Remake
    Dragon's Dogma 2
    Izuna
    Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island
    Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World
    Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

    Dragon Quest III and Visions of Mana are already on my backlog and I didn't plan to add anything else since I thought I already discovered every relevant release of 2024.
    However, that Goblin Slayer game (although I never watched the anime) kinda kindled my love for SRPGs. Triangle Strategy was my game of the year 2022 and it looks so similar. :D

      I love Triangle Strategy. Goblin Slayer's definitely a lower budget title on this list and more niche but it looks interesting.

    - unicorn overlord looks so freaking cool. Gives me ogre battle vibes too. I loved March of the black queen and person of lordly caliber.
    - fantasy persona? Yes please. Metaphor looks amazing and the battle system looks super interesting.
    - I never played dq3, I've only played DQ11 and 5 actually. But I'll play the HD 2d remake
    - I've only played persona 4 golden which I loved and I'm going to play 5 Royal this year. I might buy persona 3 reload azure edition when it comes out. You know it's coming eventually.
    - Suikoden is one of the favorite series of all time and I cannot wait to play the HD remakes of 1 and 2. I still have my original copies of both for the psx.
    - I'm on sky 3rd so will be awhile until I play daybreak
    - I just bought like a dragon to play because everyone raves about it. Then if I enjoy it I'll be grabbing infinite wealth
    - FF7 is my 4th or 5th favorite final fantasy so The remakes haven't been something I need to play right away. I'll wait until the entire thing is out and then I'll probably buy the first one cheap and start through them. Ah sounds like you are doing the same.
    - granblue isn't really one that I badly want to play. I'll probably wait for reviews and maybe for the price to come down if I play it at all. Something about how long it took to come out and how hyped everyone is for it and the 20 hour main story just has new turned off
    - visions of mana looks hopeful. Just sad that square didn't build mana into a series skin to the tales series
    - Eiyuden Chronicles is the game I'm most excited about this year. Cannot wait for it.
    This is your first video I've seen.. Very good one. Like your takes. Subscribed.

    Nice video. DQ3 & Suikoden II are my favorite all-time games, so those are easy day 1 buys for me. Eiyuden Chronicle and any Trails game(s) are also pre-order / day 1. Nice list video. Out of that list, the only real big day one purchase for me is Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, although Eiyuden and Dragon's Dogma 2 will also probably be day one. Most of these other titles look fantastic, but I'm waiting for some steep sales. Most notably there is P3R, because it coming out so soon after Infinite Wealth means I have no reason to rush out to get it when I'll be playing Infinite Wealth already. I still wantd to get Octopath 2, but that's another one where I'm going to wait to buy it when it's on sale and I also don't really have a big game I'm playing.

    • @GaiusIsidoro
      @GaiusIsidoro  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah, when great games release so close to each other something has to give. For me it's almost always the games I've already played (the remasters and remakes) unless they have significant changes to the story or gameplay. And most games are going to drop significantly in price over time so it doesn't make sense to buy them if you aren't even going to have the time to play them immediately. It just comes down to personal taste as to what takes priority.

  • @JoshuaRWorkman
    @JoshuaRWorkman 9 месяцев назад

    I don't know if I'm going to buy any of these games day one, simply because funds may not allow. I am, however, interested in the SaGa game, Infinite Wealth, Izuna, Eiyuden, Unicorn Overlord, Metaphor, and Dragon Quest III. Especially Dragon Quest III because that's one of my favorites in the entire series. I'll forever stan the GBC port, but I do like the HD-2D style and think it'll work fantastically for that game. The rest of them are either definite no's or maybe if they go on sale and the reviews are good.

    • @GaiusIsidoro
      @GaiusIsidoro  9 месяцев назад

      I remember playing through Dragon Quest III for the first time on the NES when my friend let me borrow it and I enjoyed the game a lot. I never got a chance to play the later iterations like the GBC version myself. So I'm really excited to get the HD-2D remake and relive the fun I had over 3 decades ago.

    • @JoshuaRWorkman
      @JoshuaRWorkman 9 месяцев назад

      @@GaiusIsidoro The GBC port of Dragon Quest III is my go-to because that was the first version I played. I had Dragon Quest I on NES after buying it at a resale shop, but stopped playing NES almost altogether soon after, so never finished it. It wasn't until a childhood friend let me borrow his copy of the GBC port of Dragon Quest, then still Dragon Warrior in the US, III when we were in high school that I would play another game in the series. I was aware of the GBC cartridge that had Dragon Quest I and II on it, but actually wasn't all that interested.

    • @GaiusIsidoro
      @GaiusIsidoro  9 месяцев назад

      I get you. I mean, I don't have a PS5 so Goblin Slayer is an easy choice for me. If I'm being honest though I'm not as excited for the FF7 Remake trilogy as I was for the original game. I just prefer pretty strictly turn based combat systems when it comes to flagship Final Fantasy. But I'm still excited to play the entire FF7 R trilogy when the last game inevitably releases on PC in a few more years. It's also fun to go into games with low expectations and then just be blown away some aspect of them too.

    Kinda hard to take recommendations from someone who wont even play the games themselves or play them for the wrong reasons imo, i dont play these types of games just for the story, story is important but its the gameplay and progression mechanics that get me excited and keep me playing, ive played persona 3, persona 3 fes, persona 3 portable and now will definitely play persona 3 reload, excited to see the new battle system, progression mechanics and reimagined world of persona 3, heck i only buy remasters for games ive already played

    • @GaiusIsidoro
      @GaiusIsidoro  9 месяцев назад

      That's an interesting take and I can respect that. The one thing that remasters have over brand new IP, sequels, and full blown remakes is the fact that they're pretty much guaranteed to be great games if you've already played and loved the originals because the changes made to the game are more like updates to bring the game up to modern standards than brand new experiences -- that's one of the reasons I included them on my list. They're already good games worth a day 1 buy to the right people.

  • @TheRavenShadowsWolf
    @TheRavenShadowsWolf 10 месяцев назад

    Persona can be a hard one to take, based on the themes. The third one specifically deals a LOT with suicidal tendencies; so it's hard to recommend based on that point alone. Especially if you're already feeling down, or have family or friends that do. I bought the PSP remaster on Xbox one, but I've not gotten very far into it because EVERYONE has probably dealt with those kinds of thoughts at some point - I have myself, and I don't like that they basically "kill off" the MC for all the work you do to get the best results. It's like, Yay = you beat the game; go fuck yourself.
    * I know WHY it's canonical. I get it, I read the history on the character; but I don't have to like what happens to him. Or why. The bit that added Aegis in greater detail isn't enough of a draw to make me complete it. Aegis is basically Pinnochio gender flipped. Whoopie. I wouldn't mind if P6 actually let you COMPLETE a romance with marriage and kids (since they keep freaking bringing it up - and only give you one year to do anything with the LI's you choose >.< She doesn't even go with you, and fuck Strikers for not continuing that point and allowing you to select which girl you chose in PS5) Also wouldn't mind the choice of a pet. That DOES NOT NAG OR TALK. At all. They need to move away from Teddy & Morganna style characters. They're annoying as hell.
    Suikoden remaster I'd be interested in trying out - if it's available on Xbox One. I haven't got the money to upgrade right now. The Trails games are numerous and probably very involved. I don't like starting games out of sequence if I can avoid it, and there are too many of them to work through to not make me lost in trying to figure out what the hell is going on, and what's happened before.
    Dragon's Dogma 2 - if it actually has a story that makes any sense it would be nice. If it fixes the inclinations of the pawns even better. If it makes it so you can actually actively CHOOSE your love interest - and not have it be some random you talk to often (Innkeepers and quest givers tied to the freaking ability to GET the Arisen's Bond should NOT have EVER been included on that damned list...) then it will already be leagues better than the first. If they'd max the Big Monster's health bars to 3 tops, that would be nice as well, or AND fix the damned climbing so that you can actually make the MC go where the hell you want him to be so you CAN hit the freaking weakpoints = WITHOUT the big brute automatically countering you to take off half your damned health bar. If it can do any and or most of that, I'd give it a fair shot. But the magic system was borked in the first game by too long casting times, and the grinding was a PITA. If they removed Assassin to force you to play with the fucking pawns, that's already a massive drop in my interest.
    Saga seems like it could be interesting - what, I like vampires, you had me sold on vampire. But I'm screwed for it if it's on PS4 or 5. I'm not buying both new consoles just for one game. Nope. Neit, Nien. Na da.

    • @GaiusIsidoro
      @GaiusIsidoro  9 месяцев назад

      That's a really good point about Persona 3. Even when the game released in 2008 a lot of people thought the game's really heavy suicide themes would get it in trouble when it was finally localized and released in the west. Like you say its story beats can hit especially hard if you're in a really depressed mood.
      I take every opportunity to plug SaGa games when I can because I love most of them. But the series is definitely a lot more complex than your average turn based RPG, and kinda difficult to recommend as a simple pick up and play type game.

    Disagree. Persona 3 FES is the definitive Persona 3 experience. Reloaded leaving out half of the story makes it an easy skip for me. Also not happy that they recast most of characters. The cast has been this cast has been through all three iterations of P3 and a bunch of spinoffs.

      Legend of Mana was the last game I liked in the Mana series (just not as much as Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana). It was what came after it that I wasn't so crazy about -- Children of Mana, Friends of Mana, Dawn of Mana, Heroes of Mana, Circle of Mana, and Rise of Mana. But I loved the Trials of Mana Remake that released most recently and that's why I'm excited for Visions of Mana. Just my opinion though -- I'm not trying to start a war in my comments section.

I don't think it would be a bad entry point into the series, but it might be better to get the opinion of someone who has actually played the remake. Unfortunately there’s tons of next gen graphic games that offer very little innovation and failed to deliver compelling stories and retain memorability compared to the rpg classics. So you can keep your eye candy games, i’ll stick to a great story, memorable characters, and dated graphics.
