    The arrival of Tulips brings with it our Grand Opening of the roadside farm stand, as well as our first farmers market of the year. The Tulips look amazing, but are a lot of work to keep up with as Serina spends her time harvesting, cleaning and arranging bouquets, and stocking the stand with lots of bouquets. The farmers market really kicks into gear as with Ian setting up a beautiful display, but will that be enough to move a literal trucks worth of bouquets? Stay tuned to find out!

    Ian and Serina of YOU CANT EAT THE GRASS feel that every small change can make a big difference to the world we live in. Every garden planted leads to a better future. We hope to inspire and motivate others to make positive changes in their lives by sharing our journey towards greater sustainability as we build our family farm. It's hard work to build a life worth living, and completely worth it!

    The plain tulip bouquets need some kind of filler or greenery. Perception sells bouquets. I have been in the industry for more than 30 years and even though we know value, price point, cost of goods etc.... A buyer on Sees what they See. Simple tulips alone just do not have the perceptive value for a buyer. Juice the bouquets up with some simple filler or greens and they will go faster. I always enjoy your videos and get so excited for your market days. I wish you the very best of luck this season!!

    Big YES to the white canopy!

  • @chillmcgren200
    @chillmcgren200 Год назад +48

    The white tent makes a huge difference in how your flowers look! But it was a punch of color that was part of your brand and may have helped customers find you. Could you (in your copious spare time, lol) add a red border to the bottom or something else to give it that punch-from-a-distance? Maybe some red balloons on the corners?

    • @YouCantEatTheGrass

      I've thought about a red banner along the front but haven't had time yet

    • @rccyberwarrior2267
      @rccyberwarrior2267 Год назад +4

      @@YouCantEatTheGrass I prefer the red roof tent as it coincides with your farm name and stands out at the market -- a white "black out fabric" liner on the underside of the red roof would keep the look of the flowers true to their colour (IMHO). All the best in this new market season.

    • @lindis2660
      @lindis2660 Год назад +6

      Totally agree with the branding. Could you paint the sign in the back? (The roof portion red?) or put the red cover over the white? Not sure if that would work, but you need “the red roof!” Love your channel! Best wishes for a successful season.

    Hey... I was wondering: maybe the the branche with the leaves on them was the trick of last years success with the tulips (probably not hte timer for them yet?)? The one stick does look a bit lost for me, the few leaves last year filled up the space and made it look full even with the closed flowers. Just a thought.
    Anyways: I loved your flowers and I know you will be a success because your flowers are just gorgous. And you are great observers so you will find out what your customers want from you this year. Looking forward to your postings and following you along!

    The tulips are beautiful. Just a suggestion. Rearrange your booth so that there is a table on both sides and a third across the top (u shaped). This brings people inside your booth to see flowers on three different tables. Once inside, they may be more likely to buy because they will be closer to more flowers.

    • @YouCantEatTheGrass
      @YouCantEatTheGrass  Год назад +1

      We used to have that layout, but it limited how many people would shop the table. They would all wait to take turns entering the u, and so we would only have 1 customer at a time. With this layout, customers will engage with the stand 3 groups at a time. This layout brought up our total market sales. But, I agree, it's super important to keep trying out new layouts to find what will work best - I would have never thought this layout would be so successful, and I prefer the look of the u
