A message from an old drone flyer at the age of 82 from Thailand.Thank you very much. May I say that this is one of the best tutorials to lead all guys who fly DJI Mavic2 be able to understand and enjoy fly IFM-Waypoint 2.0 successfully. But make certain that the height of every WP must be safely set, higher than all the obstacles along every the route. Lucky flying, guys.

Damn, that's cool. It's great that you can select points on your device before the drone takes off, but I've got a Phantom 3 Standard, so you need to manually fly to each point and set it I believe.

WOW DJI!!!! Well thought out way points Intelligent modes. This in itself makes this my next MAVIC drone purchase. Are you capable of setting the zoom the way you can set camera angle? Can you control the camera and drone without stopping the way point's task? What an excellent video, again. Thank you for not having your intro volume set to max volume. Love your concise teaching ability. Thank you!

Can you pre-plan your flight without having to switch the drone ON with the new smart controller? If this is not possible how should position the drone mode to avoid its fan to constantly run? At the end of any waypoint task pre plan both the drone and the smart controller gets pretty hot....thanks

Ok. I got it now. I had to update the App, and I hadn t done that. I will have to try this new functionality. I think it is too risky to stablish a route just looking at a map. You never know if there is an antenna in the way, or a tree branch too high, or any other kind of obstacle

    • @carlosread5887
      @carlosread5887 5 лет назад

Updating the App is very simple: When you turn or your aircraft and your remote, wait until they "see" each other (Until they connect). Then launch the app on your phone (or tablet) and connect the cable. Once you are seeing what your drone camera is seeing, go to the 3 dots on the upper right hand corner and tap on them. Scroll to the bottom of that screen, and tap on "about". That opens another screen where you can verify which app version is the one you have installed. Tap on all the options and let the latest vesion be downloaded, assuming that you have wi-fi connection. I hope I have been helpful !

Hi, great video! Do you know if the standard Mavic 2 collision avoidance is fully operational during way point missions? I would expect it to be available, and it would certainly help us avoid crashing. Thank you very much for taking the time to share what you've learned so far. I look forward to learning more about how it all actually works for you...

I have a couple of questions here:
    1. Does obstacle avoidance system work while the drone is flying the waypoint program?
    2. Is it possible to manually operate the camera (up and down) and rotate the drone (left and right) while flying from waypoint to waypoint?
    Thanks in advance :-)

Appreciate the tutorial! My challenge has been trying to adjust waypoints out in the field. Every time I touch the icon, it creates a new waypoint instead of allowing me to adjust. Very frustrating.
Is there a master list of all waypoints in a menu that I can choose from vs having to touch the screen?
Also, I love the option to adjust the camera angle, but it's tough to guess where you might need it. So, can I leave that option alone and still adjust the gimbal during the flight?

very clear tutorial. simple/obvious question. you’re using an ipad to create your mission. how you transfer the mission to, say, a smartcontroller? and it looks like your ipad is connected to the mavic 2. is it possible to create your mission offline? or do you need to have the drone powered up, eating up battery power, etc, to create your mission? i’ve done a ton of googling…and can’t seem to find anyone who has found a way to achieve these 2 super obvious features. thanks!

Thanks for the tutorial. I guess my Litchi App is almost obsolete. DJI still needs to add a PC / MAC or web based planning app so you can build and save your flight plans without the drone. It's a pain and waste of time booting up a drone. Any word on if DJI has a desktop planning app in development.

Great video, good pace and very clear, easy to understand and learn from. My question is to ask if the maps available within waypoints can be changed to Google Maps? I once used litchi when I had my first drone and this was far better, clearer and more detailed maps to set missions on. I now use a Mavic Zoom and have a smart controller but really miss the Google Maps.

This is a good video. BUT all I want to do is go to the site, fly to my first starting point, and record the Waypoint #1, fly to the second spot and record #2 and fly to the third spot and record #3. Then I want to return to my first point, set a slow speed of flight (5km/h is what I used to use for my Mavic Pro) and have a free camera. But I've not seem to find the right combination of actions. The drone always flies too fast and the camera is not moving freely (even though I have set it to free). I'm obviously doing something wrong, but this used to be so easy with the Mavic Pro.

Obviously, I'm late to the game but have a question. Will it still avoid objects like trees in the auto flight mode? I have been tasked to help with promotional videos and there are a few buildings that need coverage in different areas. Not knowing exactly where trees and obstructions might be but knowing what they want, can I still pre-plan the flight and trust it will avoid those objects? Or is this something that should only be done higher than any obstructions in the area? They know I'm fairly new but I am sure they are expecting Academy Award cinematography from me. I just happen to be only one of two certified to fly. HA! Thanks. Great instructions.

I have the DJI Go4 app on my everyday tablet (which I used to use for flying), and on my DJI SC. To plan a waypointed route, it would be easier for me to sit at home with my tablet (bigger screen) and plot it on it then save it, then when I get out to the flight site, use my SC.
    Q. Does the planned route get saved to the device or cloud? Or, am I stuck with having to route plan on my SC?
