- I left out a few things following this build process, just comment down below for any questions or concerns. In the next video I will give you guys a part list and total build cost to this point. Stay tuned
Awesome job. The stock manifolds can make alot of power.
I'm a vader solutions customer myself he did a full build for me with more upgrades to come I've been very happy with all the products, install and service I've received.
Stoked to follow suit with my wagon!! Looks and sounds amazing
I have to say I’m surprised it runs that well on a OTS map. Solid bro
That thing will move on the freeway!!!
It moved so hard one time it blew up 😂
@@941garage you blew it up already? What did you not add fuel etc? Bigger exhaust for sure to breath
@@tanako98 I was pushing the car really hard 28-30psi then after 3 months the crank hub slipped.
Awesome job man!! Props for this DIY.
Its really fascinating
How are you running a setup with no blow off valve?
I like it. Decent work for sure. Your WG angle is far from ideal though.
True it could flow a bit better, but over all the tuner says WG control is pretty much on point. Has no problem hitting boost target either.
Awesome job bro
Can you drop the links to the eBay parts bro thank you great content keep it coming !
Hell yeah man just watched the series I love it! Any idea what size tubing was used on the manifold? Wanting to build my own
2” t304 stainless steel, I don’t know what exact thickness the tube is but I’m thinking it’s at least 1/8-3/16, feels pretty thick.
how much do you think everything cost
looks clean too
I need to reprogram the computer.
Any ideas if the turbo sitting so close to the coil packs will cause issues? I'm about to start building my 335xi and that has me pretty worried.
Everything sits pretty forward and clear from the plugs and harness. Just for extra caution just wrap the harness with heat wrap and you shouldn’t have issues.
did you had to prime the engine/turbo before the initial start or did you just bolt on everything and started it up ?
Yes I did prime the car, you need to get oil flowing to the turbo before your start the car.
How much is the cost to making piping set up with turbo mount a Lil more back lol
I bought the manifold from Vader Solutions for around $600. I think they don’t make them anymore. But everything else like downpipe, wastegate dump tube is all custom made by me. I got all my parts from eBay.
Are you running a custom single turbo tune or you just running MHD wasn’t sure if I could use MHD for startup or if I need a tune to fire it up and run it for first start
First start I was on mhd ots tune. Just don’t bang on the car and stay at low rpm’s. But it’s recommended to get a base map.
He y man! How long was your turbo oil feed when you made the kit?
40 inches.
I have this manifold, got back in December, didn’t have the longer wastegate extension. Is yours a newer revision?
Yes the latest one, wdym by wastegate extension? Did you have to use another pipe from the manifold then to your wastegate?
My wastegate is closer to the manifold, flange is directly on the merge pipe before the t4 flange.
@@monroemidnight9372 mine is in the same place. Boost control is on point.
@@monroemidnight9372 same place just on the other side. I believe yours is on the front? He placed mine in the back.
Putty it doesn't have that typical single turbo sound 😢
That’s because this turbo doesn’t have the t51r mod.
Where can I buy that manifold And coolant pipe?
I purchased the manifold from Vador Solutions, but I think they stopped making them.
Where does that nipple connect to on the water tube ?
Connects to the turbo, coolant feed.
@@941garage yes I know but originally where does that nipple connect ?
@@1bad335i transmission cooler, the water pipe is from a automatic transmission car.
dont you need a base made for st setup?
Yes most definitely, but cruising around won’t hurt.
@@941garage imma bout to be done installing my st and hella ppl telling me not to start the car with a base map
@@Crashersss my tuner said it’s fine to start the car on a ots map. Just try not to get into boost, if the car runs fine you can lightly cruise around. But yes it’s recommended to upload a base map before first start. I only drove the car around on ots map for 30miles to make sure she’s 100% so I don’t run into problems when I start data logging for custom tune.
that blown up motor part did no age well
@Frenchi_fab 👀
fyi that headshield will just trap heat in there for it to build up. Remove it and let it ventilate
