BIG Single Turbo Install - BMW N54 335i

- With a long list of other issues the N54 is plagued with, tired, smoky and rattling turbos is high up on the list.
Before this e92 started experiencing any of these issues, the owner decided to upgraded from the tiny twin spooly bois to a big single jingle. The kit itself is a V2 jpworkz manifold using twin tial 38mm v band wastegates. A VTT plug kit was used along with a precision 6466 turbo.
The result? A quick spooling kit that'll be turned up to make some real power. Of course, when the clutch and fuel system has been upgraded.

The strut tower is structural lmao that is definitely not a solution. Hitting high speeds with a smashed in strut tower is moronic. Good on you for not being a hack. Love the channel, we need more love for the N54.
absolutely, I would never hack job a vehicle like that. The N54 deserves the love it gets, not sure how I got stuck on them but I'm glad I did!

to be honest, I've not heard of them. that being said, I'm going to check them out today!

He just released a new video on a 328xi but has an 8 part series on a total n63 rebuild and replace. I just thought it was cool he was somewhat close to you
How hard was it to get the turbos out with out dropping the subframe really want to avoid doing it if I don’t have to installing my this weekend
if it's RWD, you don't need to drop the subframe. if it's xDrive, it's really not bad to drop it.

@chadcolbert2074 nope, because it's burried in there and difficult to change afterwards, I made sure to change it. the gasket is cheap.
did you guys ever drop the subframe?
nope, didn't need to on a RWD.

this kit definitely tested my patience, it was TERRIBLE to install.

located in Calgary, Alberta. I don't do the work as a service unfortunately.
How did you prime the car what all did you guys disconnect priming my car today
all you need to do is pick each injector clip off each injector then crank in 4 sets of 10 seconds letting the starter cool for 30 seconds in between. that's it!

@chadcolbert2074 you'll see them, they look square from the top with two wires. they can suck to get out so lift the tab with a pick or zip tie and lightly tug the wire. it'll come out.
otherwise you can use protocols to disable the fuel pump for priming or pull the fuel pump fuses. just need to listen if it's priming. if the fuel system primes. it can fire.
Did you delete the canisters?
yup! when you go single turbo you get rid of the vacuum canisters since the wastegate is converted to a conventional setup.
Great job , but u don’t need a single turbo to beat up a n55 , with a perfect twin turbo build you can beat them up ,,n55’s are slow asfffff
yup, you're right! I think I've beat up on my buddy Ozzy 12 of 12 times with my old e90.
but with a single, you can show them the real spice level. ;)

I had to watch it twice, some frustrating parts were cut but overall it runs great! not my favorite kit to install though.
