I have spent my entire day binge watching your videos! You're so adorable and a terrific teacher! I am so excited to make everything you've shown me today! Thank you so much for making all of these videos and helping others enjoy crafting!
Thank you so much for this series. I wasn’t really a fan of epoxy and it’s nice to know that you there are alternatives that don’t take away the shine from the glitter and make the tumbler looks really dull. Thank you thank you thank you. Fun fact: I’m also from the Chicago land area so I definitely know what you mean about this bipolar weather 😂.
Thank you so much Alison! I’ve just started researching epoxy tumbler making and I’m glad I came across your videos about crystalac before using epoxy. I had no idea about the epoxy dangers and I’m going to start with crystalac for my daughter and I to start!
Yay I'm so glad you found me and the videos are helping!! I wish I had known about CrystaLac before I started. Your'e going to love it! Let me know if you have any questions or need any support
Hardness and durability is the most important aspect of my project. The surface must be shiny and smooth and is going to take a beating. I have been using automotive clears. Will Brite Tone be a harder more durable surface?
Good morning Allison I've recently started epoxy tumblers and loving it so far. I'm really interested in the crystalac but feeling overwhelmed 😕 I've downloaded your check list and have put the kit into my cart to order but I'm nervous of what to do when the stuff actually gets here. WHERE DO I START? LOL
I just love this series!!!!! Keep them coming. I am all of the above as far as where I am- wanting to work with tumblers or anything that would involve eboxy. Will you be making a tutorial on how to make keychains with Crystalac? Again thank you for these informational videos!!! 🙏🏼

I just started watching your series - very helpful!!! I plan on getting universal white to use as the base color but wondering if acrylic paint can be mixed with it to create the right color.
I do blinged tumblers. Can i use the pigments as a base coat and not have to seal? I usually do acrylic and then seal the paint. I want to avoid spray paint all around. Thank you!
Liquid micas are awesome, they can be mixed into the clear top coats or used solo. Here is a video I did with one:ruclips.net/video/g7s-AvKXGjM/видео.html As far as turners, you can buy one or make one. Here is a diy I did: ruclips.net/video/Fv_MTQHT6OU/видео.html
I am brand new to tumbler making and bought epoxy before I realized how dangerous it can be, I really want to switch to CrystaLac now. My only issue is I am not seeing on the website that it is FDA complaint, am I missing that somewhere? I want to make sure I am using the safest products for myself and anyone who will be using my cups. Thank you!
It's definitely FDA Compliant! Totally safe to use! the FDA doesn't regulate top coats but they do make suggestions on what companies should follow and the CrystaLac meets or exceeds those recommendations :)
Thanks so much for all your videos they’ve been so helpful! I’m working on my first tumbler with Brite Tone but have lots of trapped bubbles?? I used spray paint, alcohol inks, and a water slide decal. I let it gas off more than 48 hrs before I started the BT and have waited 4 hours between coats and am doing thin coats. Any ideas?
I’m using my finger, I did another coat and it looked good, couldn’t see any bubbles?? Waited and did another coat, it looked nice and smooth but then as it started to dry I noticed you could see waves 😩. I’m sure it’ll take a bit of practice to switch from the epoxy to get use to the different consistency. Thanks for replying 😁
I have a question that no one can seem to answer on the Facebook page. If I wanted to make a storyboard tumbler, can I spray it with a sealer instead of waiting for the 30 day cure time? I love my crystalac and don't want to mess it up and DONT want to use epoxy for my storyboard.
I don't know how well spray sealer would hold up submerged in water. I'm sorry I can't be more help! Maybe there is a spray sealer that is meant for that? I don't know!
I reached out to David and Dorinda. Hopefully they will have an answer of what I can do to protect it. Fingers crossed because I want to make one and I've never used epoxy and don't want to.
Ok, so question. I have a few projects that I need to use spray paint with. I know that there is at least a 48 hour wait period between applying spray paint and applying crystalac. However, can I go ahead and ModPodge my glitter on during my wait time, or will that affect the gassing off period?
I would wait at least 24 hours before doing Mod Podge. The can of spray paint says it needs 24 hours to dry! Probably best to just wait the 48 hours though.
I feel terrible I layered my cold cups multiple times with crystalac and just wanted a heads up, is it normal to have slight chipping at the rim of the cup?😖😖😖
I cannot spray paint here in winter I have ordered brite tone but not the universal white or glossy black. Is there a brush on alernative I can purchase? I have lots of craft paints water base. Thank you in advance.
I am currently using epoxy but I'm starting to have reactions to it and I'm considering switching. I'm concerned about the cost though. It's much higher than the epoxy I use and you mentioned having to do a lot of coats. Do you know approximately how much it takes to complete one tumbler?
It really depends on the epoxy you used before, but CrystaLac cost's about $1.60 per cup. I do not personally find it more expensive and since I literally can't breathe when I use epoxy, I'm willing to spend more to keep myself and my family safe! Each coat is only about 2 mls of CrystaLac so you're using much much less than epoxy

I love your videos!! They are so helpful to say the least!
Thank you so much 💕
After using say the white with pigments or the black for black cups/glitter, do you then use BT for the remaining layers and top coat?

You an mix the pigments into the universal white for a base coat.
I bought a larger size of the universal white. Is there a way to store a little bit of it in a different container?
Yes you can use any container that is air tight
Looking to make the switch but wondering how many cups can I get from a pint size?
What are the liquid micas for? How do they work?
Also, what about turners? Do they come with the pvc holders?

Can you use the flip and awesome paints as a primer before glitter?
Yep!
What about the extreme protection what would that be used for?
it can be used for the first few coats of the tumbler but i recommend just using Brite Tone
Since this product is a water based product, how long do tumblers last with Crystalac? Would it eventually wash away?
no it will not wash away. they will last as long as you handle them with care. i've had mine for almost 2 years!
So when you use the black gloss once dry do you start layering your cup with your brite tone?
Yep!

yes as long as you let the paints dry. Depending on your design it can be a few days to a few weeks. Acrylic paint dries super slowly.

No heat with Crystalac

Craft paints are not designed to adhere to metal, they don't have the bonding agents. You would need a primer first.
