Jennifer, I have been a follower for a long time. I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate the information that you provide. When the gigantic flowers were extremely popular so many people were charging an arm and a leg for flower templates. You gave away free templates. I told everyone I knew. I appreciate your help and educational posts and your willingness to help. Thank you so much, Rhonda
@@JenniferMaker Hi Jennifer, this tutorial was really easy to follow🤗 You always make them fun and informative😍 The part about baking them in the oven; I heard that the smell is intolerable and it's best not to put them in the oven where you cook, and that it's better to use a toaster oven specifically for water slide decals, in a well ventilated area. What's your take on this, or anyone reading who is familiar with the process?
I got a Cricut as a gift at Christmas and was not very excited and more than a bit frustrated with the Cricut web site and the Cricut support (there really isn't any). Then I found you!. OH, my goodness. I am spending half the day watching you and then the other half making things. Your videos are thorough, to the point, just excellent! The amount of free stuff on your web site is incredible. God bless you, Jennifer.
I have to tell you that I spent almost 4 hours trying to do this and none of the videos I watched, helped as much as yours did. I am so excited to finally finish my daughters tumbler personalized with her name in the same font as the waterslide I bought on Etsy. I would love to learn how to design my own waterslides. Thank you so much for being such a huge inspiration for me ❤️
It’s so much better to make my own waterslides because if I mess it up, I can just trying again with another one on my sheet Instead of paying for another one on Etsy 😂
Jennifer, I've been watching your RUclips videos since I got my vinyl cutting machine last Christmas. (gift to myself) Your videos are very professionally done, very informative, and to the point. I love them and I learn a lot each one I watch and I don't get bored when I am watching them and want to fast forward.
..Here it is 2022 Christmas..I ordered material and made several gifts. I have been watching your videos for about five years and I appreciate all the work you do to make accurate easy to understand videos. I appreciate all your dedication. Thank you.
You are honestly an AMAZING teacher. I've been following you for a while and I absolutely LOOOOVE your projects. You explain every detail, which I appreciate and love. Thank You!!
I have been a fan of yours for quite awhile now. (when you had another blog name). I love your creations, your patterns, your tutorials and certainly your videos. You explain everything so that we all can sit down and actually make something! I can't wait to make some waterslide creations! I can see an entire year of gifts...everything from mugs and glasses for Birthday and Anniversary gifts to Christmas ornaments and gifts. Thank you, thank you Jennifer. You are a true genius.
Thank you for making this video! I've been wondering for ages how the heck waterslide worked. This is the best video yet. I had no idea you bake it on!
I loved your tutorial. You speak clear and precise and didn't ramble on. I just got a critcut air 2 a few weeks ago. I am learning to use it and this helped me so much.
Absolutely LOVE this project. I googled waterslide paper and yours was the first thing that popped up. Soooo thrilled I clicked on it. Not only are you very precise for directions, I need things broken down Barney style and you nailed it, but your voice....OHHHH MYYY WORRRRRD. So calming like a kindergarten teachers. Definitely helps when you are nervous to attempt a project, but you just gently talked me through it. Thank you THANK you THANK YOU!!! I'm a follower now for as long as you continue.
Aww, Patricia, thank you so much for your very kind words! This is what I love to do, and fully intend to be doing it for a very long time to come! 😁 Especially when someone as nice as you takes the time to let me know I've made a difference! 😍
If you apply it like a temporary tattoo, decal side down/waterslide backing up, its SO much easier to remove the paper and not have all the issues with the tiny precision cuts.
Thank you so much for explaining the “smooth” background. I’m doing my very first water slide decal and I wasn’t sure how to put all the images together. Great help!
You should try printing them mirrored and applying them backwards...if that makes sense. So basically, when you apply, the backing will be facing you instead of under the decal. It is just as vibrant and a million times faster and easier to apply.
So I don't understand how this method would work. Maybe you can explain it better? When I visualize putting the decal on backwards so that the backing is facing you to me that says when you remove the backing what you are exposing is not what is sealed isn't the point to the acrylic spray to seal the color in to the water paper or the transfer? If you are putting the sprayed side against the blank/cup or whatever, what would be against the removable paper would not be sealed, correct?
my brain didn't wake up. the sealed surface will be on the mug, and any 'glue' or anything on the waterslide paper will be facing out? I'm not understanding how this works.
I am so intrigued by this! I never knew about this waterslide thing, this is so cool and now it opens up all kinds of doors! Thanks Jennifer! I will be making some door prizes using this technique for our Pink Out. Hugs, Brenda
Thank you so much. There are alot of waterslide videos, but not that many that include how to start in the Cricut machine, which is what I needed to know-newb here- This was easy to understand and now I am hooked!
You are AMAZING! I love the way you explain everything in a very clear to understand and just over all informative way. I'm hoping to get started making cups like this here in the next week and I will for sure be using your tutorials as a guide!
So interesting. Just fining you for first time in this video. Also binge watching a lot of craft videos involving labels, names, decals. Water slide decals. You know where we saw them as kids? Even as a girl I bought little hot rod kits in the 60s. They all had water decals.
You are such a sweetheart!! Thank you so very much for this tutorial!! I remember playing with waterslide decals when I was little. It brought back some amazing memories. Thank you again for sharing all these wonderful ideas with us!! 💗💗💗
Jennifer I love your tutorials, I did notice that the star wheels had been moved before cutting on the Cricut to prevent marking the decal paper, maybe mention that in future tutorials. Keep up the awesome work.

Awesome video but I have a question/concern...You put your water slides on wine glass and coffee mugs, these items are meant to drink from also meaning washing them after. Water slide would just fall off with slight water rinse?? How are you preventing that.As well any cup can get banged or dinged...Image would get scratched??? How do you keep it safe???

Usually I would buy wayerslides from companies and I wanted to buy or make images myself and then print them myself instead so I really appreciate you showing how to print then cut in design space!!! 😅 FYI on the gliter tumblers if you don't want the blurry image then do two coats of epoxy instead of sanding. I've not made an ornament stand before, but I recommend you start with a prototype made by hand then study the pieces and figure out how you can replicate it on a Cricut. :)
I love this video! I was curious how you suggest getting the bubbles out when the decal is down? I get the ink on my fingers. Idk if I need more than one coat of the spray on it.
I've been doing waterslides for a while and found it just as easy to cut out around the edges with scissors. I use clear so nothing shows on a white background.
Thank you for this fantastic tutorial. I love all you do for us and your generosity for all free files and step by step guide. You are so sweet. Thank you x
I am so happy I found you! Your tutorials are simply the best. You have a real talent at explaining projects in an engaging way as well as making viewers feel like they too can have a great result. But you also keep it real, noting when you had a bit of a tricky time. Thanks so much!!
For an easier transfer of the large sunflower, kiss cut the decal. When you soak it you can weed it.(remove the unprinted portion) Now the sunflower on a larger carrier is much easier to slide into place and does not snag on edges of the cut carrier sheet..
You should note that Waterslide comes in white as well as the clear/transparent. If you use the clear on a dark surface it is a lot harder to see the image and if the image has any white color you need to use the white waterslide not the clear. Also you do not need to seal the waterslide if you use a laser printer.
She did say that.................. also you are incorrect on not having to "seal" if using laser printer.... You need to seal anything you decal and for more than one reason lol.
Hi Jennifer. They are so cute. I am deciding on trying waterslide. I have used tatoos. And they are awesome. But you are limited to the designs. Waterslides , the sky is the limit. Thank you. You make everything look so easy. ❤️🇨🇦
my water-slide decal keeps smearing, I've sealed it 3 times with mod podge acrylic sealer, left it to dry for one or more hours between coats and as soon as I placed i in the water it smears. Please help me! I amusing the white sunnyscopa water slide :( I am so frustrated.
I took a look on the ModPodge website, Angelita, and they say that ModPodge acrylic sealer takes 2-3 weeks to cure. So you probably want to use a different sealer - one that dries more quickly! 🥰
Love your videos my problem is you speak too softly. I have my volume up to 100 percent and still have a hard time hearing you. I have to put on ear phones to hear it better.
For those having a difficult time hearing Jennifer... There are a couple of ways to fix it. If you listen on your cell phone... Go to your Google play store and download one of their free volume adjusters. Be careful not to overpower your phone speakers... I have found only a slight increase helps immensely. If u are using a computer to view, I found many inexpensive simple external speakers that simply plug in. I hope this helps someone!
Love watching your videos(even tho I have a Cameo) You give very precise, easy to follow instructions. I do have to crank up my volume to hear you :) You have such a soft, sweet, pleasant voice :) These 64 year old ears have trouble hearing at times :) Keep up the awesome work & thanks for all you do!
I will boost the audio more on my future videos. Do you have a problem more with the intro (where you see me) or the middle part (where I'm narrating the video)?
I won't speak for Karol, but I find in most of your videos, the narration is significantly softer/quieter than the "live" bits. Still awesome information!, just have to strain to hear it all.
@@michelleprins2939 That's what I'm wondering. The mic is closer to me when I narrate, and in my software, the volume is the same. BUT because the distance from me to the mic is different, my voice changes a lot, and I think that's why some people find it harder to hear. I will just keep boosting the volume of the narration section until things seem better. :)
You made waterslides look so easy, I can only hope to do it with as much ease as you've shown lol I'm going to have a silhouette cameo 3 tomorrow, so It may be a little different but thank you for this video :)
Do you have a tutorial on how you can do the print/cut to use the full size of the paper? I have been looking for this and can’t seem to find the setting on my Cricut or in DS. Thank you so much!
Have to tried to put the waterslide on the other way? With the picture facing down. I've seen some awesome results from doing it that way. Of course if you have words you have to mirror the image.
I'm new to the Cricut community and just getting into diying. I love your videos and tutorials, such a big help!! Thank you!! Also, I thank you for the free templates and designs!! You're amazing!!
Hi Jennifer, your videos are so helpful thank you! How do you decide when to use vinyl vs waterslide vs sticker paper (if you use that) on tumblers? Would you share the benefits/disadvantages of each please based on your experience? I'm a newbie and am worried the decals/vinyl might come off. Thank you
I am so in love with your tutorials. You provide such thorough information! I have probably watched 10 of your videos between last night and this morning. And, I will be watching more...because it seems like you are doing everything I want to do for my business! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge!!!

Hi Jennifer, I am fairly new to using the Cricut and I am enjoying whatever tutorials I watch of yours! You are a very good teacher and have great ideas! I know this was posted a long time ago but I just found this and wondering how could I make a "precise" image out of my own image. Thank you.
You'd want to upload it to Cricut Design Space, Duplicate it, use the Offset feature on the duplicated layer give it a border, then change it to a basic cut in white, then select everything and click Flatten.
Jennifer Maker My ink kept smearing, I was using the same sealer that you used but I am thinking I didn’t let it sit long enough between coats, I am going to try again and wait the 30 minutes like you recommended. Thanks for responding and thanks for your videos.

You have a very soft-spoken and pleasant voice, and I have no trouble hearing/understanding you.
Jennifer...you are an enabler....everything I see you do, I want to do....this is bad for my budget....lol
Thank you? 😁😂

Thank you

Thank you so much!
Hi Jennifer,
I am fairly new to using the Cricut and I am enjoying whatever tutorials I watch of yours!
Thank you!
You are awesome! I should have known you had water slide project in your library.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching! 😊🌻
You make this look so easy. I have been fighting with a waterslide decal, I think I have wasted four or five sheets :(. Love your videos, thank you.
What's going wrong with your sheets? Having problems getting it to slide off?
Jennifer Maker My ink kept smearing, I was using the same sealer that you used but I am thinking I didn’t let it sit long enough between coats, I am going to try again and wait the 30 minutes like you recommended. Thanks for responding and thanks for your videos.
Thank you for providing the links for the materials you used! Just ordered mine. Can't wait to try this project!
You are so welcome! Have fun!
