Aww thank you so much! It’s officially been 1 yr since I made a tumbler. Since you follow my channel, you’ll probably see our Flipping the Farm Vlog. That is what has occupied my time for the last year. I do plan to jump back into Tumbler making hopefully very soon! I greatly appreciate you watching and I’m glad you’ve learned a few things. I know taking a year off I now have a whole lot of catching up and learning to do myself!
A very loving family tutorial and a great completed tumbler!! MY only question for you, and I should know this, but how do I get a picture texted to me into a waterslide? This video was highly informative and interesting. Thank you. Carol
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! If the pic was texted to you, you should be able to save it to your phone. Then you can email it to yourself… or upload it to your google photos maybe. Somehow save it to your computer. Then you should be able to import it into your Cricut Design space or whatever you are using to create your waterslide. I hope that all made sense… lol I haven’t made a tumbler in about 10 months due to our Flipping the Farm journey and more grand babies! I need to update my tumbler with more pics!
🥰 awww Thank you so much Karen! Your tutorials are simply the best! I’ve learned so much from you! This tumbler is beautiful! I cannot wait to make one! ❤️
I love how clear your picture waterslide turned out! Do you sand over the picture ever? I’ve gotten so discouraged with waterslide photos here lately because they always end up streaky looking under bright tone or they get water bubbles under them despite squeezing them all out and letting them dry for a while.
It’s been so long since I made that Tumbler I honestly can’t remember. I would definitely have to go back and watch the video lol. Thank you by the way! I don’t remember if I sanded over it or not if I did, I most definitely would’ve put four or five layers of BT over it before sanding and then obviously a few more layers to finish it out. Thanks so much for watching!
I love your work and want to try it. But I am so lost for example the liquid you used what glue will I need. Also what type of tumbler are you using ... love this so much
Thank you! I use Brite Tone… it’s an Epoxy free product. I’m also using Glitter Glue. Both of these are Products from The Crystalac Company… I have links to everything in my video description.
Can you please go into more details for beginners like which programs to use, how to even use it and all the details. Where to buy the products we will need to make them?
Hi there! Every video is different... I explain different products at different time in videos. I also list all the product and have links as to where to buy in the description of each video. :) I also have a couple of "tumbler talk" videos where I talk a lot about products. Please let me know if you have any more questions! Thanks so much for watching! :)
So can you use the powder mica in the crystalac? Also, can you do tumblers the same way and products with the crystalac as you do with epoxy? I can't use epoxy cause of health issues. So I'm going to crystalac, but it is so costly. Also, after you sand. Do you wash off tumbler with alcohol or something else?
Yes you can. I just add it to a little of the Brite Tone. You can do them somewhat the same. I have a lot of Crystalac tutorials… I’d love for you to check them out! I also have an epoxy allergy so I switched a couple years ago. There are a few differences and for me price wasn’t an issue bc I was able to do away with things like gloves, heat gun, mixing cups and stir sticks that were required with epoxy. I mean I do still use mixing cups and stir sticks with Crystalac for mica powders… but I can just rinse them off with water and reuse them. After sanding you wash it off with water. I hope you’ll check out my other Crystalac tutorials. I have a lot of tips that I think you’ll find helpful! Thanks for watching!
@@karenbaskettdiyer I guess my other question is... Do you have to use crystalac paints, or can you use like rustolium spray paints, or any other paints? I purchased the crystalac grand finale instead of Brite tone. I Also purchased the glue. Waiting for it to get here.
@@terrymcbride-murphy9616 Grande Finale is there newest product specifically created for tumblers so you’re gonna love it! Yes you can use spray paints but it is pertinent that allow 48 hours for the spray paint to off gas before applying your next layer of GF. Your also gonna love the Glitter glue!
I love your tutorial. I am trying to do a waterslide of a photo on a tumbler. I put the picture in the water after sealing it and waiting the appropriate time for drying. But when I try to adhere to the tumber, the photo doesn't separate from the paper. It kind of dissolves the picture. Do you know what I am doing wrong? TIA
Thanks so much! Hummm…. I’ve only had experience with 2 brands of waterslide paper … Hayes and Hippo. I’m not sure what brand you are using. Also… what are you sealing yours with?
@princesswright8675 you’re welcome! I’ve only ever used Rustoleum 2x clear coats for mine. Honestly I’m not sure what the issue might be. Sorry I’m not more help. If your allowing the proper dry times then it should be going well. Best of luck to you.
Watching you apply the brite tone makes me think i am doing my layers too thin, would that make it not self level? Like i could still see my finger lines from spreading it on.
They are supposed to be very thin. I was hoping I made it clear that I made these a bit thicker due to adding the liquid mica, or glitter. I know that if I apply too much pressure when applying I end up with streaks sometimes. If you do end up going a bit thicker just know you may encounter orange peel but just keep going it works it's way out after a few more layers. Thanks for watching! :)
No special in request. You’ll just to make sure if you have an inkjet printer like me that you order the inkjet waterslide paper. Then you’ll need to seal your image like I did. If you have a laser printer then order the laser paper and no sealing is required. 😊
I’m so sorry you are having issues. I selected “upload an image” and saved it in design space. You might try it from your phone even if you have the image on your phone and the Cricut app. I wish you luck!
Yes!!! Non toxic… no PPE required! Best stuff ever! The Crystalac company a just released a new product similar to their Brite Tone but is called Grande Finale. Quicker dry time and a bit thicker than BT.
No… it is VERY DIFFERENT. Brite Tone is a product of The Crystalac Company. It is a NONTOXIC… water based product. it takes quite a few layers and they are super thin… 4hour dry time between each layer. No bubbles… therefore no heat gun required. No mixing parts… just literally squirt it on and apply a coat in like 30 seconds or less. I love it! You’ll also hear me talk about flip’n awesome paints, universal white and pigments. Those are all Crystalac products as well. I have a couple of RUclips videos titled Tumbler Talk where I share my experiences and details. The Crystalac company recently came out with a new product called Grande Finale which has a shorter story time and requires less layers than BT.
To apply the black black gloss…. A brush from the Crystalac store. These brushes are amazing! Here’s my affiliate link if you are interested …. bit.ly/3So02BO
Hi Rosanna… to be honest I’m not familiar with silhouette at all. I only have experience with Cricut. There might be some shapes… a heart that you can stack on top of your image and slice like I did for mine. Sorry that probably wasn’t very helpful.. lol
Hi Brenda… if you go back on the video to right about 4:38 I group the pic and the heart together and then clicked on “slice” at the bottom right of the screen. I’m using Cricut design space. I do know that Cricut has updated since I made this video and I haven’t used it recently so I’m not sure it’s the same right now.

I would suggest you look here in RUclips.. maybe search… “how to print with my Cricut” there are TONS of helpful videos. I learned how to use my Cricut by watching YT videos. I wish you luck! 😊
Hummm... I've not had any issues with color bleeding. Maybe give your ink a little extra dry time before sealing and then longer dry time with sealer as well.
Oh goodness I’m such a ding ding! Yes… I click print to cut but I cut it out by hand. Lol sorry not sure what I was thinking. You could probably just print the image right from your computer. Open your photo file and print it and then hand cut like I did. I’ve done this before with a really large image.
