Heya I just wanted to add 2 tips to what you’re teaching on .. & I know it’s been 3 months since this video but someone may need this. ~~On those intricate designs that the Cricut wants to cut every single piece out.. like flower parts or skulls teeth or something with a lot of parallel lines, shapes etc, I do a tiny offset of like .002 or .004 (in black usually) and then FLATTEN it so it’s all one piece. I had 6 tiny Razorback hogs & it was cutting every tooth & every line. Essentially ruining the piece bc the blade was sticking to the tiny parts & lifting them, making it a mess 😩 .. after days of contemplating LOL 😆 I tried a sliver of an offset & it totally worked!!🙌💯💯 ~~ALSO - for the people who are saying their cut is off & they’ve tried to calibrate it. Normal calibrate is not the same as ‘Print Then Cut calibrate’. You have to choose the Print Then Cut calibration selection for your machine to print out the test page lines, that we then choose from to tell it which lines are working. It will ask for a 2nd print test and we choose the best cut again. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tests to get it perfect. I tried normal calibration & it did nothing for Print Then Cuts. Finally chose the right calibrator and bam.. righteous ✂️ I just can’t force myself to use scissors when I’m looking at a bunch of different pieces. Thanks for sharing Courtney! You’re a beautiful lady with a ton of great information & ideas!! 🌹🌹🌹
I was so baffled by a decal i tried to put on a black scale model truck. Thank you for this I was able to lay down a perfect decal earlier using this method!!
“Dedication” at it’s very best..thank you for still providing us with a tutorial even though you were not feeling 💯 . 🤒Get well soon 💜 🇨🇦 (P.S. You didn’t look that “rough” we’ve all had those days, sometimes without even being sick 🤣🤣)
I'm planning on using waterslides for making legends on my blank keyboard, but it has black keys so I was struggling on figuring out a way to go about this. This video was very helpful in me fiiguring out a way to do it. Thanks!
THANK YOU for this video!!! It literally saved the day on a current project!!! The printing it on a colored rectangle and painting the back AND I never knew you could put the waterslide on face down (with backing on top) I've been trying to slide the backing off between the cup and image. That hack alone is life-changing! :) Thank you again for this very informative video!
Thanks for your fantastic video!!! You certainly very clearly answered for all the possible questions on this topic with a great understanding the process of application the waterslide decals on the dark background.
First of all, the dedication of even making a video when you don’t feel the greatest. You are so smart and talented and I pray you continue to go after it all. This was such a neat hack ! Feel better soon love!
Wow game changer. I’m wanting to put an image on a white glitter cup adding a white background will make the image stand out better against the glitter.
I didn't know that about the box! Great tip! Also, you forgot to mention about mirroring your image if it has words. Some may not know this. Thanks for the update Courtney!
love your videos i seen how u like to add ur waterslides from the backside if that makes since buy if u do this method does the waterslides have to be mirrored or printed in revearse hope i make sense ty
It does!! Another hack I figured out because I didn’t think of the spray paint, is to use white vinyl and place the water slide over top! It works just as good if you don’t have white spray paint 😁Hope y’all start to feel better!
First off thank you so much for this and hope you all are feeling better. Definitely dedication and I for one appreciate it. My question is if it’s laser paper that doesn’t need spray seal do you still need to spray seal after the white paint. It makes sense just wanted to make sure. Thanks so much!
If you would use the white water slide and put the square as a clear square to put on to something and do the white spray paint would it work that way also
I hope you are feeling better. May I suggest you show how to do the Vinyl behind the waterslide as well because some people ask about that and I find it very easy for the things with small details that can't be cut out or sprayed
@@CourtneysCustoms I love all your videos and I follow your true crime RUclips. I always listen to it while I am cleaning kennels at the cat rescue I volunteer at lol.
I understood your previous video except for the adhesive and this one didnt address that either. Im new to water slides so im assuming its my ignorance but it appears you're placing the painted surface you just applied, with no adhesive, against the tumbler. Is adhesive not required?
Is all.waterslide able to play face down? I got the spin it water slide paper a while ago and was just going to try doing it but I have a dark purple cup and now I'm afraid it won't work snd I already printed the picture... no words so it may be ok if it's not mirrored
Is there a way i could send you a pm? I was wanting to add a dark image on a tumbler all i have is the clear waterslide do i spray my cup black then i dont know what to do next
The reason why you need the white paint: your printer can only print 3 colors plus black. When you print on normal white paper that's not an issue. But when you put your design on anything that's not white that's gonna add to your color mixing.
You are very artistic, but what if you are using a word and not an image that looks the same front or back? How would you apply a word (two words; one black letters one in gold letters) to a black object like a tumbler? Thank you.
I have a doubt. What is the advantage of using the clear one instead the white one? The white one is not the same at this process, but avoiding this whole process?
I do a inset of the image cut out on white vinyl or whatever color I need. I make it wear the waterslide image is barely overlapping the vinyl so that the outline blends out with whatever is behind it.

WOW, game changer! Thanks!

This was awesome. Thanks Courtney
Thank you 💜
Hope you guys feel better soon. Love your channel new to waterslides and tumblers trying to learn how to do a curved tumbler.

Thank you!!! You’re awesome. Sending healing prayers to you and your family. Stay blessed 🙏🏽
Thank you so much!
Do you have to apply another layer of sealant after spray painting it white? Or can you apply the decal after white paint is dry?
Thank you so much! I have struggled with dark tumbler waterslides
You’re so welcome!! I’m happy I could help 💜
Thank you! Very helpful!
You’re so welcome!
I didn't know that about the box! Great tip! Also, you forgot to mention about mirroring your image if it has words. Some may not know this. Thanks for the update Courtney!
Yes that’s true, Thank you!
Hope you and the family are feeling better so to do the spray paint method you have to mirror image
Thank you! And yes mirror it
love your videos i seen how u like to add ur waterslides from the backside if that makes since buy if u do this method does the waterslides have to be mirrored or printed in revearse hope i make sense ty
Thank you! Yes, to do this method you’ll need to mirror your image before printing
It does!! Another hack I figured out because I didn’t think of the spray paint, is to use white vinyl and place the water slide over top! It works just as good if you don’t have white spray paint 😁Hope y’all start to feel better!
I will definitely make a short video on that method too!! Thank you 💜
@@CourtneysCustoms Okay cool, 😁
Love the tutorial!! I have a few tumblers that I don’t want to sand and repaint. Can I modge pod the waterslide and tumbler on those tumblers?
Yes!
First off thank you so much for this and hope you all are feeling better. Definitely dedication and I for one appreciate it. My question is if it’s laser paper that doesn’t need spray seal do you still need to spray seal after the white paint. It makes sense just wanted to make sure. Thanks so much!
Thank you 💜 and yes after the paint I would definitely seal it!
Can you use the offset feature instead of the black box?
Yes that’s a good idea!
If you would use the white water slide and put the square as a clear square to put on to something and do the white spray paint would it work that way also
Love sugar skulls. You need to get well!! Take care!
Thank you so much 💜
Which icon did you hit to put the color in the background
Can u do the spray paint on waterslides that u can turn around and face down because it has words. And they would come out backwards?
Is the tumbler sealed first before putting the water slide?
No
I'm new to all this tumbler making art. So my question is, if I have white water slide paper, I wont have to do all these steps?
Now when you do the spray paint method do you have to mirror the image always
Yes!☺️
Ans when you say face down is putting the putting the.spray painted part down on the cup?
Yes
What do you spray over your paint on your tumblers before you start the painting on the tumblers? I’m confused. Thx
I believe you’re talking about the clear sealant
I hope you are feeling better. May I suggest you show how to do the Vinyl behind the waterslide as well because some people ask about that and I find it very easy for the things with small details that can't be cut out or sprayed
Thank you so much! I will definitely create a short video with that!
@@CourtneysCustoms I love all your videos and I follow your true crime RUclips. I always listen to it while I am cleaning kennels at the cat rescue I volunteer at lol.
@@amyboyd8831 okay that totally made my day lol thank you so much!!
Can this be done with any brand clear water slide paper ?
Yes☺️
How long do u let the waterslide dry
How does your printer print white on the sugar skull?
Hi Courtney, I know you said you use Cricut design space to print out waterslides. But I can't get it to go to print to my printer. How do I do that?
On using a glittered tumbler, can you cut it on your Cricut before spraying it with the clear and white or black to avoid having a box?
Yes you can! My cricut print then cut would just never work for me lol
I understood your previous video except for the adhesive and this one didnt address that either. Im new to water slides so im assuming its my ignorance but it appears you're placing the painted surface you just applied, with no adhesive, against the tumbler. Is adhesive not required?
Would this method work with a tattoo too ?
Wow I’ve never thought about that! If you try it please update me!
So white paper with dark surface, clear for light surfaces? And website for music bands?
I’m looking to make a waterslide for the band “pierce the veil”
Is all.waterslide able to play face down? I got the spin it water slide paper a while ago and was just going to try doing it but I have a dark purple cup and now I'm afraid it won't work snd I already printed the picture... no words so it may be ok if it's not mirrored
I’ve never tried that brand but I don’t see why not!
I love that squeegee!
So mirror the image that is printed?
Yes
Is there a way i could send you a pm? I was wanting to add a dark image on a tumbler all i have is the clear waterslide do i spray my cup black then i dont know what to do next
The reason why you need the white paint:
your printer can only print 3 colors plus black. When you print on normal white paper that's not an issue. But when you put your design on anything that's not white that's gonna add to your color mixing.
just by the white waterslide paper. I use it all the time.
I do not want to buy the white water slide paper because I hardly ever use it.
I print my waterslides through Publisher. Anyone know how I can mirror the image using that program?
You are very artistic, but what if you are using a word and not an image that looks the same front or back? How would you apply a word (two words; one black letters one in gold letters) to a black object like a tumbler? Thank you.
I would just cut them out on my silhouette with the vinyl of my choosing ☺️
I tried this and followed everything even waited for the waterslide that I purchased from you and my images crackled. what would cause this.
I have a doubt. What is the advantage of using the clear one instead the white one? The white one is not the same at this process, but avoiding this whole process?
Or buy decals for tumblers
Ever since I got my printer I always make my own.
I do a inset of the image cut out on white vinyl or whatever color I need. I make it wear the waterslide image is barely overlapping the vinyl so that the outline blends out with whatever is behind it.
That’s a great method too!
It's black I can't see it😊😊
This is the easiest and most effective way, why would you get tons of questions? lol. boggles the mind...
Yes! Please help haha
